telling in my lessons frequently as it enables students to relate to the topic.
Organization Deadlines are consistently met in a timely fashion. Class documentation
and filing are always up to date and as a SBST coordinator, I ensure that
fellow colleagues have necessary documentation and that all support
documentation is handed in, signed off and filed correctly.
Management In the classroom, I guide my students and I set the tone for the day. I am
able to handle conflict in a constructive manner.
Computer skills I use Microsoft Word to set tests and assessments, Publisher for newsletters,
worksheets, certificates and cards, Excel for recording marks, PowerPoint
for presenting lessons and assemblies and Mimio for interactive learning.
Adaptability As important as preparation is, I recognise that lessons and other areas may
not go according to plan and I am willing to adapt accordingly.
Preparation I prepare and implement lesson plans, term plans and programmes of
assessment. I also prepare my classroom each morning before the start of
the school day.
Innovation I am constantly following trends as children are on the forefront of
changing technologies. This allows for creativity in lesson presentation as
well as the ability to relate to my students’ frames of reference.
