2. HISTORY OF HORROR Horror films go back as far as the onset of films, over 100 years. We use our vivd imaginations- we watch them because of the fun factor in being scared. The earliest horror films were gothic in Goth style- meaning that they were usually set in spooky old mansions, characters were normally supernatural ranging from vampires, demented mad men, mad scientists, monsters and werewolves (good against evil)Horror films developed from a number of sources: folktales with devil characters, myths, ghost stories, gothic or Victorian novels. Vampires began to emerge in popular fiction of the 18th century when Bram Stokers 1897 novel Dracula was written. The first horror movie, only about 2 minutes long was made by George Melies (French) t h e Devil castle¥haunted house) 1986. The first genuine vampire movie Sympathy of horror It was the early 1930 ′ s that American film producers particularly universal pictures popularized horror film including Dracula (1931) and Frankenstein (1931) Tod Brawning- Director of Dracula.
3. Plot: Our beginning will involve an 18 year old boy called Scott. He will be in his bedroom when suddenly a message on his computer pops up. It will also flash back and forwards to everyday life woman and her family (as they are the ones who will be featured in the rest of the film) and bring some normality to the opening Which reads a chain mail from a anonymous person. It will include ‘If you don’t pass this on, a girl named Gabrielle will find you, torture you, and kill you’. He ignores this and takes his dog, raz, to a local forest/park. While going to the forest mysterious things start to happen .e.g. (His iPod player starts playing a nursery rhyme) we see the glimes of the girl but never close up at this time. Finally he walks to the forest and the girl watches him- while the audience watches him walk into his fate.

5. Our film will be a 15 due to the graphic frightening images. But would not be a 18 as there is no sexual references. We have chosen both women and men for our film, as both sexes will be involved in our film. The type of people will be in the B-D category as this will appeal more to them.
6. We are filming our short clip in three main places, as we want to give elements away but not the whole story as this will attract more people and make them watch the rest of the film. We have chosen to use, a simple road with street lights on when it’s dusk to make the atmosphere seem more scary and mysterious. Other places include, a forest and a house. We think this is better as to much places could confuse the audience and ruin the simplicity of the film. The older horror films are related to ‘slasher’ films which just have the simple ‘goody’ and ‘baddy’. We want to try and get away from this stereotype of horror film and concentrate on the horror of the unknown and anticipation. Why have we chosen a little girl to portray the key aspect of horror? This is because the innocent people are sometimes the most scary- we think of little girls as sweet and innocent with no hidden agenda, we want to scrap this idea and make the girl the one to be afraid of- as well as a male to be the one in distress.
