Computer in Todays World
The Place of Computer in Today's World
Introduction:
Today, we are living in a computer age. The awareness of computer is more than at any other time. It has dominated almost all the fields. There is
hardly an industry, which does not use computers. It is not anymore thought of as a mere calculating machine. Computers are used in banks, factories,
in Government offices, education institutions, for research and development and even supermarkets. The Computer plays a very vital role in the
following fields: Trade and Commerce: – In business, transactions that take place have to be very carefully recorded so that there is less ambiguity
and the recorded transactions later on are utilized for various purposes – tax purposes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Road transport has taken the cue from Railways and adopted it successfully. Even air traffic control is through the use of Computers. They have
helped in minimizing accidents to a great extent. Vehicles can now be tracked by using a technology called GPS (Global Positioning System).
Process Industry: Computers are playing the role of Quality Controllers in manufacturing concerns. A program called CMC is utilized where the
machines are programmed to produce units of same quality thereby reducing defective components. Engineers make use of CAD/CAM to design
products or design the plant layouts. Home and Hobby: Personal computers are an exciting hobby. Many people prefer to build their own computers
from kits or modify systems that they have purchased. Home computer is much sought after for relaxation. There are many games that use the full
capabilities of a computer to provide many hours of challenging and exciting leisure –time adventure. The list of other home and hobby applications of
personal computer includes checking, account management, budgeting, personal finance, planning, nutrition analysis and dieting, personal income tax
preparation, investment analysis, telephone answering and dialing, home security, home environment and climate control, calendar management and
maintenance of address and mailing lists. Word Processing: A word processing system is as much advanced over a

Essay- How Computers Benefit Businesses
The business world of the 21st century is becoming more demanding and challenging as operations grew bigger and more complex with projects
that need to be done in smaller time frames. There is very little room for even slight errors and mistakes; as such errors can cost businessmen millions
of dollars. Therefore, reliable workforces are much needed to get projects done quickly as well as efficiently. This is whycomputer–aided tasks are
becoming an increasingly popular trend nowadays.
The first generation of computers dates back to as early as the 1940 's. The computers of that time however proved to be a hassle just to run and
maintain it to be of any use to businesses of the times. It was very huge, extremely sluggish and slow but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Errors only occur if data or instructions itself that are being keyed into the computer contains error. This is very important for companies to avoid
problems, because a slight error can be costly as mentioned earlier. A good example is when an accountant is doing hefty financial calculations, if
there 's even a slight mistake in the calculation; the whole account needs to be recalculated, which will take a lot of time. With the help of computers,
such problems do not exist.
Computers have the ability to store data in its storage media. This means previous transactions, client database and other form of business–related
information can be stored electronically inside a computer for future reference. This is very useful as it replaces the obsolete method of keeping
records in files and papers inside cabinets, in a more secure manner where these data can be protected with a password. Not only that, computers have
the ability to search for specific file, record or other form of information using the integrated search tool. This process is much faster compared to the
process of searching for files in cabinets manually, saving invaluable time.
Modern computers are very reliable and have low failure rate. Long gone are the days of expensive maintenance costs and unreliable computers. This is
because every electronic component in the computer system have

Software, Operating Systems, File Management And Digital...
Introduction
Over the course of the year I have submitted 4 different internal standards. Through the process these internals I have applied skills that I have learnt in
application software, operating systems, file management and digital ethics. This four standards were:
1.41 (Implement basic procedures to produce a specified digital information outcome)
In this standard I was presented with a database of the food brought by students at the cafГ© which I then completed and produced a mail merge of
the products brought to be sent to the costumer's parents. To do this I showed a variety of skills using Microsoft Excel and Word.
1.42/1.43 (Demonstrate understanding of basic concepts of digital media and to produce a specified digital media outcome) In this standard I applied
my knowledge of the Big Four (Contrast, Repetition,Alignment and Proximity) as well as document layout to create a children's book.
1.50 (Demonstrate understand of the common components of digital infrastructures) In this standard I used my knowledge of digital infrastructures to
install and operating system which included drives and utilities on the personal computer I had built in standard 1.51.
1.51 (Implement basic procedures for servicing a personal computer system) In this standard I used my knowledge about servicing personal computer
systems to find and fix problems in both hardware and software.

Section 1 – Understand the purpose of information technology in a business environment
1. In relation to your current business environment (or one that you are familiar with), identify at least two different types of information technology
that may be used when completing work tasks.
Two types of information technology that may be used when completing work tasks from experience are: Word Processer and Spread sheets.
When I worked in Reception as a receptionist and a switchboard operator, I used a lot of word processing and spread sheets to perform tasks. The task
that I used these types of information technology for the following:

I used this type of information technology to type up cover letters, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also checking that the time, date and information requested is correct. For example if you are searching for information on a particular airline for a
travel meeting event due in 3 weeks, then you have to make sure the details that you seek are correct and up to date and not old reviews and costs. The
airline may have been used in the past which could have been a year or so ago where costs may have been cheaper, so up to date information is a
must as the costs may be more and other airlines may now have better reviews and are more cost effective for the business.
Also pointing out objective should be made clear for the researcher so that the correct information is found in the first place instead of using more time
to do the research again because of a wrong objective is stated. This can be based on a brief. The deadline is best for if there is more information
needed to be researched so that there is time allowed for this to be done.
If the above is not done then this can result in businesses wasting money on the wrong thing and the gathering of wrong information can cause lack in
customer service on their part resulting in poor quality decisions making the business look less efficient and less organised.
2. Identify the different ways of researching, organising and reporting information.
Below are some of the different ways of researching, organising and reporting information.

Abstract
Technology is rapidly changing and growing, and the ability to use technology is almost essential for working in the real world. Educators are not
only responsible for teaching students how to use common technologies but are also responsible for assisting students in using technology to improve
there ability to learn and stay engaged in the classroom. There are various articles and studies that have been done to show that different types of basic
technology, and more specialized assistive technology, can have a benefit on theeducation for students' with disabilities. Along with the articles and
studies done on the effectiveness of technology in the classroom, there are a multitude of website that offer resources and extensive research on
devices and apps created to help improve students accessibility to the classroom and curriculum. The Library of Congress is a valuable tool when it
comes to integrating technology in the classroom. There are various types of primary and secondary sources available to assist students in
understanding different topics along with interactive websites to help students remain engaged in the learning process.

Crime Analysis Essay
According to Rachel Boba, "Crime analysis is a law enforcement function that involves systematic analysis for identifying and analyzing patterns and
trends in crime and disorder" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime analysis). The information on these patterns can assist law enforcement agencies in the
deployment of resources in a more effective manner; it can also help detectives to identify and catch suspects. Crime analysis also plays a role in
improvising solutions to crime problems, and developing crime prevention strategies. There are various types of technology that is used in crime
analysis. Crime analysis relies heavily on computer technology, and over the past fifteen years there has been a significant improvement in computer

RMS can also include separate databases such as crime reports, arrest reports, persons information, property and evidence information, vehicle
information, accident reports, field information, calls for service (e.g. snapshot data), and investigations. The contents of RMSs vary, however their
purpose to store crime incidents data and link them with related data, remains unchanging across different software products and police departments. In
addition to collecting and storing information, RMS is used to check the quality of data, retrieve incidents, and provide information. A geographic data
system creates, maintains, and stores geographic data. Typically, city or county agencies use geographic data systems to create and maintain data
concerning parcels, building, streets, roads, and highways, and to store aerial photographs and other geographic information to be used by various
departments and agencies (e.g., planning, utilities). In addition, such agencies often obtain tabular and geographic data from other sources such as
census information, demographic information, and typological information and store them along with local geographic data. It is important to note that
crime analysts do not collect or maintain the data housed in geographic data systems; rather, they only borrow and use these data in their analyses.
There are four basic types of general desktop software applications that crime analysts use to organize data as well

Word Processor Of The Gods Diction
In the story, "Word Processor of the Gods" by Stephen King, there are multiple uses of diction, imagery, and tone. The audience for short novels
such as this would be the young adults during 1983. It was showcased in a Playboy magazine, which striked that particular audience as well.
Richard Hagstrom is the speaker of this story and tells us about the subject of the gift he has received from Jonathan right before he has passed
away. One example of diction that was used in this short film was when there was a flashback to a memory Mr. Hagstrom had with Jonathan. "It
doesn't seem like I have much time." Jonathan said this as if he knew his time was about to be up. Another example of diction was when Richard
Hagstrom deleted his son, Seth, from his life and he states it again after realizing what he has done. When... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It shifts how you view this story fairly quickly and consecutively. In the beginning of the film, a sad tone feels the atmosphere when the opening
starts out with finding out that an entire family has passed. Anger is a tone that is felt when Adelina speaks, because of the way she treats her
husband. She verbally abuses him about his life and dreams overall. Throughout this film, the tone that is the most commonly used is suspense. It
has a way to keep it interesting, no matter how many times the novel has been viewed. For a short film, there was much to be unraveled. Diction,
Tone, and Imagery are very important key terms to have in a good novel. Overall, this was a very simple piece that Stephen King has wrote, but it
still had a sudden turn. I think that the name is a little off because the story honestly doesn't mention anything about god or gods other than at the end
of the short film, when Jonathan says, "You didn't harm yourself when it died and went to heaven, did you?" or "I honest to god, I don't." The title of
the story makes it interesting because it's like the word processor gave god–like

Identify And Explain How To Write An Essay On Dyslexia
Treatments and drugs:
According to (http://www.mayoclinic.org/, 1998–2017) "There's no known way to correct the underlying brain abnormality that causes dyslexia–
dyslexia is a lifelong problem". Then again early detection and evaluation will determine specific needs and suitable treatment.
Education techniques– dyslexia is treated using precise educational methods, and the sooner the intervention starts the better. Psychological testing will
help children's teachers to develop an appropriate program. Teachers can use methods that involve hearing, vision, and touch to enhance reading skills.
Tutoring with a reading specialist can be helpful for children with dyslexia as the specialist will concentrate on helping the child to learn how to
identify even the smallest sounds that make up words, to understand that letters and strings of letters imply these sounds, to understand what is being
read and to be able to read aloud and to increase their vocabulary.
There are a few educational programs and interventions available to help children with dyslexia. These can vary from standard teaching in small
groups with a learning assistant, to one–on–one lessons with a specialist. Many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

User Requirements
The user of the computer suite will be students completing their advanced apprenticeships (AA) and wish to make an E Portfolio with all of their
work on it. To achieve this I have chosen to use an online office package available from OneDrive. This will make the students information more
secure as thy can save to an online storage space that is included in the package. The whole package is free and the students can work on their AA
from whatever location they want to when they log into their one drive. OneDrive provides a word processing document with all of the properties
needed for the students, a spreadsheet document and PowerPoint document. Therefore the students will have all of the applications that they need
wherever they are all free of charge.
Also the students are required to be able to make videos at a basic level and edit the. For this I have decided that the computers will use the
software Microsoft Movie Maker. This has the capability to be able to cut, edit and add effects videos quite easily. It is also free with Windows,
which saves money in the budget. I feel that this version of video editing will provide the students with enough to be able to create good quality videos.
Finally the students want a phot editing software. For this I have chosen GIMP. This is a free service that is available to download off the internet and
provides most of the features that Photoshop has to offer, just at a

numbers, headers and footers. Files can be created in applications in a number of standard formats. You can tell which format is being used by looking
at the last part of the full file name, known as the file name extension. For example, the filename dogs.bmp has the filename extension .bmp, which tells
us that this is an image file stored in bitmap format. Text files (.txt)– also known as ASCII files, these are created by text editors and simply contain
basic characters in the ASCII character set. You can also save a word processed document in text format, but you will lose all the character
formatting and any special characters that you have used. They are used to produce very simple text files for technical use. The simplest text editors,
such as MicrosoftВ® Notepad, allow you to write and save text files. Rich text files (.rtf) – are produced by word processors and preserve a certain
amount of character formatting, such as colours and fonts. They can usually be exchanged between applications from different software companies.

Application Software
Over the course of this year I have used two main types of Computing Software: Operating system software and the Application software. Both of the
software types are essential for a computer to function properly. Application software is a type of software that is designed for a specific task such as
microsoft Excel. It is not possible to design or use a piece of application software that can do every task. This is because it would take up too much
memory and require a lot of processing power, also this would be very impractical to use.
Quite often you can also use other application software to do the same thing, but can be more basic and simple with less options to do with that
subject. An example of this is Microsoft

Individuals with sight problems can adjust color and brightness to assist them in viewing programs. Children with hearing problems can adjust volume
controls and replace noise commands with visual commands. For example, if a child clicks on a program that is unable to open, they can program the
computer to respond with a verbal message informing them of the inaccessible program, as opposed to the usual noise response. "Laptop computers can
provide high–tech tools for note taking because of their mobility"(Barfield, 2003, p. 1). Customized computers also offer many different options for
individuals depending on their needs. Touch screens, and touch pads enable an individual to use a computer by simply touching a screen or pad with
his/her finger. "This often allows students who have fine motor problems, inaccurate keyboard skills, or problems with spelling to complete programs
without frustration (Olson, 2000, p. 344). Voice activated computers allow students to use a microphone to enter information into the computer.
Positions of buttons and switches can also be changed to accommodate an individuals certain needs. Other parts of the computer can also be altered
to aid an individual with special needs. For example, individuals with limited motor control often use a key guard. "A keyguard is a keyboard overlay
with holes positioned over each key. This assists in stabilization of finger, hand, or stick movement (Ray, 1995, p.

Creative Writing Reflection Essay
In this class, Creative Writing, we learned twelve different rules for writing. I felt that each rule, except for two, were important and could help, not
only with writing, but in school, work, and life. We had writing projects due weekly and, in class, we traded papers so we could edited each others
work.We also made a Google Docs and collaboratively wrote stories in groups of three to five people. My group iswriting a murder mystery on a
cruise ship. With this project I learned more about what it is like to work in a group. We haven't had any issues but it's interesting how the vision you
have for your character changes when other people write your character into their section. Most of the twelve rules for writing helped improve each
assignment and any writing I will be doing in the future.
I found the first rule: "Every word counts," useful and I liked the 100 word assignment that goes along with this rule. With that assignment I
learned that if you don't need a word take it out. As Mark Twain once said: "Substitute 'damn' every time you're inclined to write 'very'; your editor
will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be." I guess he didn't like the word 'very'. I also learned to use more precise words. As C.S.
Lewis once said: "Don't use words too big for the subject. Don't say 'infinitely' when you mean 'very' [damn]; otherwise you'll have no word left when
you want to talk about something really infinite." This rule is a little difficult for me to

Nt1330 Unit 1 Assignment Of Character Data
Character Data is how users translate words and phrases into a language computers understand and communicate back to said users in a universal
presentation. Character data is made up of two things, characters and strings. First, alphabetic letters, numbers, and symbols are setup and defined in a
specific way that the CPU can understand. All twenty six letters of the English alphabet are used, but only in an uppercase presentation. Basic numbers
ranging from zero to nine are defined and used. From using just these ten numbers, we can create any other number the system may need to represent.
These letters, numbers, and symbols individually are called characters. Any grouping of characters is called a string.
Character data uses a predetermined ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The book states that there are three rules that coding methods should adhere to. When it comes to coding and decoding, a coding method needs to be
followed by everyone properly. Users must be able to store, send, and retrieve code using the coding method. The coding method must be able to
follow the goals of computer data representation which are compactness and range, accuracy, ease of manipulation, and standardization.
From the textbook, we are shown five examples of coding methods, with three explained in deeper detail. They are the Extended Binary Coded
Decimal Interchange Code (EBCDIC), the American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII), Unicode, International Alphabet 5 (IA5),
and International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Each of these coding methods are different, but do have some similarities. ASCII was the
standard coding method used due to vendors using it as the bases for their devices for so many years. Unicode is special due to being made as the
multilingual coding method. It borrows from other coding methods to generate a code that can be deciphered by most major technology based regions
around the world. It uses ASCII as part of its bases, which allows user to translate ASCII based programing code into

Writing Understandable
How to Write Understandably We've all been there. Somebody gives us a paper to peer–review and it's practically written in Greek. Eager to
demonstrate their mastery of English, the author includes sentences like "The intentional obfuscation of one's premeditation leads invariably to the
unfortunate mystification of one's readership." What? (In plain English, this sentence means "Using big words to hide your purpose will confuse your
reader.") Spelling errors can hamper your reader's ability to understand your writing, but so can overwriting your paper. Bloated sentences and big
words may lose your reader. If your grammar is too sophisticated for your intended audience, it will backfire. It doesn't make you look smart to write
like that. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Too many short sentences can make your essay sound choppy and disjointed, while too many long sentences will make it hard to follow your points.
There's no hard and fast rule for when a sentence must be long and when it must be short, but if your problem is using choppy sentences then consider
combining them when you edit your paper. If they're too long, look for sentences you can split up. Stay away from "zombie nouns." A "zombie noun,"
known formally as a nominalization, is an adjective, verb, or adverb that has been turned into a noun by the addition of –ation, –ing, –ness, or another
suffix. Examples include "understanding," "creation," and "recklessness." They're called zombies because according to linguist Helen Sword, "they
cannibalize active verbs, suck the lifeblood from adjectives and substitute abstract entites for human beings." These words aren't always bad, but
overusing them will quickly confuse your readers, because nominalizations don't often have subjects attached to them. To cure a zombie epidemic,
remove the nominalization and add a subject. Helen Sword provides the following example:
The proliferation of nominalizations in a discursive formation may be an indication of a tendency toward pomposity and

Cloud Computing Can Be Beneficial Essay
In today's world, technology is constantly advancing. New phones, computers, and other devices are being released at a rapid pace. For some it is
costly and difficult to keep up with the latest hardware. Software is only getting bigger in size and requiring more power from your hardware, and
powerful hardware isn't cheap. This is where Cloud Computing can be beneficial. Cloud Computing is basically accessing programs and data through
the internet instead of retrieving it through your hard drive. Popular Cloud services such as DropBox, Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce, and Google
Drive are being used by consumers and businesses every day. These are all examples of Cloud Computing. The use of Cloud Computing can be very
beneficial because, it allows users to have access to certain programs that their personal computer cannot operate due to certain computer hardware
specifications. However, Cloud computing is not the same thing as Time sharing. Time sharing is a much older technology than Cloud Computing, that
allowed users to access a computer efficiently at certain time frames when other users connected to the same computer is inactive. This allowed
multitasking over numerous users connected to one computer with different terminals. Time sharing is beneficial because users could have access to a
computer through a terminal without owning one. In Cloud computing, multiple users can access the software from a server at the same time and have
public access of their software and

Assistive Technology Essay
Assistive Technology
The use of technology in educating children with special needs has widely grown in the past few decades. Individuals with special needs are unique
and all have different areas in which they need assistance. Due to the advancements in assistive technology, computer programs, software, and other
technology tools, it has become much easier for people to find useful and easier ways to become educated. Because of this, "technology has changed
the way people with disabilities live, work, and learn." (Winzer,98)

These programs are an excellent tool in helping individuals memorize and grasp certain concepts.
Other types of traditional applications include tutorial programs, simulation programs, and problem solving programs. Tutorial programs differ greatly
from drill and practice software. Instead of re–teaching already learned information, these programs introduce new information, concepts and ideas.
Simulation programs are visual simulations that help children with special needs learn how to make good choices. "These programs model reality
and allow students to use their skills to make decisions and solve problems in a safe learning environment." (Olson, 325) These programs are
especially useful in preparing individuals with special needs for life after graduation. By being placed in different situations, children are able to
gain knowledge that may help them later on in life. The great aspect of these programs is that the children do not need to leave the computer in order
to gain useful outside knowledge. Problem solving programs are also very useful in educating kids with special needs. In these types of programs,

Will the Use of iPads Enhance Reading in Middle School...
Every year paraprofessionals attend pre–services, teacher training, and professional development seminars – where staff continues to learn how to
identify and accommodate for differences in learning styles and disabilities in their teaching strategies. Schools that provide for Special Education need
these collaborative skills to properly serve the daily instruction for individuals with disabilities in inclusive class setting in conjunction with support
staff and clinical specialists. Technologically enhanced curricula are appearing in schools across the nation that scaffolds the methods of interaction
and content retention for students with learning disabilities. Some of these students may have multiple disabilities and motor/ sensory disabilities
where a flexible design is adapted based upon neurological research along with universal principles. Through research, evidence based multimedia
lessons plans can be used in the classroom to engage students who struggle in school. The iPad is a learning hub. The value far outweighs the cost by
providing multiple uses for research, brainstorming, creation, and organizing information and reflects information in several formats. The advantages
of incorporating the iPad in the classroom include; the use of the speech to text feature where students can speak into the device with its built in

transaction processing in which the banks use to make transactions for any deposits, withdrawals, payments, cashiers checks, or money orders. For
example, anytime there are transactions being recorded in the computer, it will appear in the journal and will be printed for the end of the shift of the
day once a teller balances out and closes for the day. The information component is the output of the information systems. For example, information
contains qualities such as the timeliness and the integration of other data & information. The personnel information system provides useful information
to carry out any objectives effective for those decision makers. For example, intranets is useful for providing basic human resources functions such as

The Technology Era Of Technology
Just like a four year old on Christmas morning, I waited in the booksale line my sophomore year eager to receive my newest toy. I quickly ran through
the registration lines, so quickly that nearly forgot to take my ID picture. Alas, a Glenbrook South student handed a large, white cardboard box with the
contents I had been anticipating all summer. It was Christmas in August. In the evolutionary era of technology, schools have become increasingly
dependent on the usage of internet and computers. As teachers are provided with more and more online resources for instructing, it only makes sense
for students to follow. Along with other local elementary schools, Glenbrook South dipped its toes in the technology era with the initial implementation
of Smart Boards and other classroom technology in over years past. In the 2013–2014 school year, Glenbrook South decided to fully submerge into the
pool to begin the ChromeBook program. Each student would be required to pay a portion of the cost for the Samsung ChromeBook computer each year
for school usage. These computers were introduced in efforts to enable equality among all students, as they are being provided the same resourc and
online educational activities. Additionally, they would contribute to increased communication between teachers and students. Despite all these benfits,
why did more than half of surveyed seniors, including myself, abandon their ChromeBooks for a more expensive, brand name laptop two years later?

The Importance Of Technology In Education
Technology has increased over time from the 1900's to now, from the bulb and electricity to now with the iPhone. Over time, these devices our days,
are either complicated or unusual to some people including older people in our generations. However, as technology develops, some students do not
have a true idea or understanding of the technology they use for their future jobs like a nurse, to record the person's data, a pharmacist, to search and
produce the drugs they need and give for patients, and an engineer to fix simple problems and type commands. All of these require the basic
understanding of computers, so why do students need to learn computers in introduction classes?
Around in the 1970's, computers were made as a small structure as barely anyone had it, however, now it is a major resource in everything we do.
We carry laptops and go to libraries to study often, search up questions, papers, videos, music, and catch up with family and friends on social media.
Students especially need computer skills for not just jobs but to get help from others in the work area of economics or to write programs for a future job
like computer programming in our everyday needs. According to Small Business Chron, it says, "Computer skills are a basic requirement for a
large number of jobs. Almost any office job you apply for will require you to possess basic typing and data entry skills, as well as a basic
understanding of how to use an operating system. Most office work requires job

Abstract
I will be doing an experiment on people and how their minds work when they look at different faces. This is in the psychology category because it
deals with people's images of others and how they view beauty. I will be analyzing if people choose a composite face or an individual, unedited face,
based on their beauty standards.
Hypothesis
If individual faces are composed in one face to create a brand new face, then regular people will indeed find them to be more attractive than the
individual faces.
Background
In today's society, all magazines edit models to look like "a better version of themselves", or to fix insecurities or flaws. This has followed into the
social media world. Most teens use filters and edit their pictures to look better and perhaps completely different than what they normally look like.
Photoshop and photo editing apps are very important to young people so they can look "better", or "prettier" and are continuing to grow as image

  • 2. Essay- How Computers Benefit Businesses The business world of the 21st century is becoming more demanding and challenging as operations grew bigger and more complex with projects that need to be done in smaller time frames. There is very little room for even slight errors and mistakes; as such errors can cost businessmen millions of dollars. Therefore, reliable workforces are much needed to get projects done quickly as well as efficiently. This is whycomputer–aided tasks are becoming an increasingly popular trend nowadays. The first generation of computers dates back to as early as the 1940 's. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Errors only occur if data or instructions itself that are being keyed into the computer contains error. This is very important for companies to avoid problems, because a slight error can be costly as mentioned earlier. A good example is when an accountant is doing hefty financial calculations, if there 's even a slight mistake in the calculation; the whole account needs to be recalculated, which will take a lot of time. With the help of computers, such problems do not exist. Computers have the ability to store data in its storage media. This means previous transactions, client database and other form of business–related information can be stored electronically inside a computer for future reference. This is very useful as it replaces the obsolete method of keeping records in files and papers inside cabinets, in a more secure manner where these data can be protected with a password. Not only that, computers have the ability to search for specific file, record or other form of information using the integrated search tool. This process is much faster compared to the process of searching for files in cabinets manually, saving invaluable time. Modern computers are very reliable and have low failure rate. Long gone are the days of expensive maintenance costs and unreliable computers. This is because every electronic component in the computer system have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example if you are searching for information on a particular airline for a travel meeting event due in 3 weeks, then you have to make sure the details that you seek are correct and up to date and not old reviews and costs. The airline may have been used in the past which could have been a year or so ago where costs may have been cheaper, so up to date information is a must as the costs may be more and other airlines may now have better reviews and are more cost effective for the business. Also pointing out objective should be made clear for the researcher so that the correct information is found in the first place instead of using more time to do the research again because of a wrong objective is stated. This can be based on a brief. The deadline is best for if there is more information needed to be researched so that there is time allowed for this to be done. If the above is not done then this can result in businesses wasting money on the wrong thing and the gathering of wrong information can cause lack in customer service on their part resulting in poor quality decisions making the business look less efficient and less organised. 2. The audience for short novels such as this would be the young adults during 1983. It was showcased in a Playboy magazine, which striked that particular audience as well. Richard Hagstrom is the speaker of this story and tells us about the subject of the gift he has received from Jonathan right before he has passed away. One example of diction that was used in this short film was when there was a flashback to a memory Mr. Hagstrom had with Jonathan. "It doesn't seem like I have much time." Jonathan said this as if he knew his time was about to be up. Another example of diction was when Richard Hagstrom deleted his son, Seth, from his life and he states it again after realizing what he has done. When... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It shifts how you view this story fairly quickly and consecutively. In the beginning of the film, a sad tone feels the atmosphere when the opening starts out with finding out that an entire family has passed. Anger is a tone that is felt when Adelina speaks, because of the way she treats her husband. She verbally abuses him about his life and dreams overall. Throughout this film, the tone that is the most commonly used is suspense. It has a way to keep it interesting, no matter how many times the novel has been viewed. For a short film, there was much to be unraveled. Diction, Tone, and Imagery are very important key terms to have in a good novel. Overall, this was a very simple piece that Stephen King has wrote, but it still had a sudden turn. I think that the name is a little off because the story honestly doesn't mention anything about god or gods other than at the end of the short film, when Jonathan says, "You didn't harm yourself when it died and went to heaven, did you?" or "I honest to god, I don't." I felt that each rule, except for two, were important and could help, not only with writing, but in school, work, and life. We had writing projects due weekly and, in class, we traded papers so we could edited each others work.We also made a Google Docs and collaboratively wrote stories in groups of three to five people. My group iswriting a murder mystery on a cruise ship. With this project I learned more about what it is like to work in a group. We haven't had any issues but it's interesting how the vision you have for your character changes when other people write your character into their section. Most of the twelve rules for writing helped improve each assignment and any writing I will be doing in the future. I found the first rule: "Every word counts," useful and I liked the 100 word assignment that goes along with this rule. With that assignment I learned that if you don't need a word take it out. As Mark Twain once said: "Substitute 'damn' every time you're inclined to write 'very'; your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be." I guess he didn't like the word 'very'. I also learned to use more precise words. As C.S. Lewis once said: "Don't use words too big for the subject. For some it is costly and difficult to keep up with the latest hardware. Software is only getting bigger in size and requiring more power from your hardware, and powerful hardware isn't cheap. • 43. The Technology Era Of Technology Just like a four year old on Christmas morning, I waited in the booksale line my sophomore year eager to receive my newest toy. I quickly ran through the registration lines, so quickly that nearly forgot to take my ID picture. Alas, a Glenbrook South student handed a large, white cardboard box with the contents I had been anticipating all summer. It was Christmas in August. In the evolutionary era of technology, schools have become increasingly dependent on the usage of internet and computers. As teachers are provided with more and more online resources for instructing, it only makes sense for students to follow. Along with other local elementary schools, Glenbrook South dipped its toes in the technology era with the initial implementation of Smart Boards and other classroom technology in over years past. In the 2013–2014 school year, Glenbrook South decided to fully submerge into the pool to begin the ChromeBook program. Each student would be required to pay a portion of the cost for the Samsung ChromeBook computer each year for school usage. These computers were introduced in efforts to enable equality among all students, as they are being provided the same resourc and online educational activities. Additionally, they would contribute to increased communication between teachers and students. Despite all these benfits, why did more than half of surveyed seniors, including myself, abandon their ChromeBooks for a more expensive, brand name laptop two years later? Author ... Over time, these devices our days, are either complicated or unusual to some people including older people in our generations. However, as technology develops, some students do not have a true idea or understanding of the technology they use for their future jobs like a nurse, to record the person's data, a pharmacist, to search and produce the drugs they need and give for patients, and an engineer to fix simple problems and type commands. All of these require the basic understanding of computers, so why do students need to learn computers in introduction classes? Around in the 1970's, computers were made as a small structure as barely anyone had it, however, now it is a major resource in everything we do. We carry laptops and go to libraries to study often, search up questions, papers, videos, music, and catch up with family and friends on social media. Students especially need computer skills for not just jobs but to get help from others in the work area of economics or to write programs for a future job like computer programming in our everyday needs. • 49. Science Fair Proposal Science Fair Proposal Valerie Almanza Everman Joe C. Bean High School Abstract I will be doing an experiment on people and how their minds work when they look at different faces. This is in the psychology category because it deals with people's images of others and how they view beauty. I will be analyzing if people choose a composite face or an individual, unedited face, based on their beauty standards. Hypothesis If individual faces are composed in one face to create a brand new face, then regular people will indeed find them to be more attractive than the individual faces. Background In today's society, all magazines edit models to look like "a better version of themselves", or to fix insecurities or flaws. This has followed into the social media world. Most teens use filters and edit their pictures to look better and perhaps completely different than what they normally look like. Photoshop and photo editing apps are very important to young people so they can look "better", or "prettier" and are continuing to grow as image standards change and new styles develop. Teens want to alter their own image so they can look more like the model, when in fact the model looks totally different than in the magazine. With this experiment, I will test people of different ages and analyze what picture they consider to be more attractive, the edited ones or the individual photos. I will be using photoshop to edit these pictures and create composite faces with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
