2. What different types of technology did we
use?
Media formats (on the internet) to
present research and evaluations:
• Images/picture
•Slideshare.com
•Prezi.com
•Video
•Slides.com
•Emaze.com
Adobe Premiere – for
putting together and
editing our Pre-Lim task,
feedback and our final
film opening.
Internet – for research into
existing film openings and credits
on YouTube. Also for research
into information such as film
production and distribution.
Video Camera and Tripod – to film
our Pre-Lim task, feedback and
the opening scenes of our film.
3. Adobe Premiere – editing software
At the start of the course I had no idea what ‘Adobe
Premiere’ was therefore I would have had no experience
using it. However when we’d got to grips with the basic
tools used on it, I was fine with using it but I also wanted
to learn more complex ways of editing on it. In order for
us to learn more about the software, we had practise
using it when we filmed our Pre-Lim task and feedback
as we had to edit the footage more. This helped me
widen my knowledge of how to cut and add in media
along with extra scenes ready for our final task. We also
learnt how to add titles, sound and even how to turn the
scenes from colour to black and white. By learning all of
this we were able to move onto editing our final film
opening as we were pretty confident on how to use the
software by then.
4. Camera/Tri-Pod
At the start of the course I had very little knowledge of how to use
software such as Adobe Premiere’ or how to even create and manage
a blog. However, throughout the course I have learnt many new skills
including how to film and edit a whole film opening in Premiere.
Because I own a camera myself, I had quite a good knowledge on how
to use it to film and create different effects with it. However I had to
learn how to create certain effects such as panning and a range of
different shots as we needed to use a wide range in our final film
opening. This then helped us when we were filming because it meant
we had a good knowledge of the types of shots we needed and how to
create these effects.
We also used a Tri-Pod to film a number of the shots such as the
establishing and long shots to make the shots seem still so the
audience could see everything in the shot clearly. Before the filming
process I had no experience working with tri-pods so I learnt quite a
lot when we were filming with one such as using it for long shots so
you could see everything clearly as it was still.
5. A range of media formats
Before the course I had good knowledge on
how to use a wide range of presentation
formats online including Prezi and
PowToons. However, with a bit of research I
was able to find a number of other different
presentation websites which were
Emaze.com and Slides.com. This helped us
as a group because then we would have a
wider range of media formats we could
upload onto our blog. Before the course, I
had no idea how to upload ‘Powerpoint
presentations’ online until we were
introduced to slideshare in which broadened
my knowledge and introduce me to how to
embed links to share onto the blog.
