The student learned several technologies during the construction of their opening film sequence. They learned about camera resolution and quality from their class technician. They also learned how to properly use and position microphones to avoid noise. Additionally, they learned how to setup and use equipment like tripods, dollies, and tracks to film tracking shots. The student also expanded their knowledge of software like Adobe Photoshop, Prezi, and Slideshare. They created a logo using Photoshop and used online tools like Flixpress and Premiere Pro to add titles and edit their film.

What have you learnt about technologies from constructing
your product?

2.  I learned a lot about technologies during the construction of my
opening sequence. Firstly I’ve learned about cameras and how to
check the resolution and quality, which I am working with. The
knowledge of the camera was passed on by Anthony, my class
technician.

3.  I learned how to use a microphone and the distance to hold it
from the character to avoid baffling sounds. The microphone
however gave me a big challenge during filming because it was
impossible to separate noise from vocals. The environment of filming
was not all quiet and this gave me a big fight.

4.  I also learnt how to setup and use the tripod, dolly and track to
establish tracking shots. I widened my knowledge how to use Adobe
Photoshop, which I used to create my company logo. It was a new
experience to me at first but with a few online tutorials, I manage to
create an amazingly unique logo for my film company.

5.  I was also a beginner to the use of Prezi and Slideshare and I
learnt about them to make presentations for my blogger account. I
used an online software called Flixpress to create my company intro. I
uploaded the photo of my logo and add text of my choice, which
then moved, with my chosen template. It really came in handy
because I had no introduction for my company and it really did a
great job.

7.  I also feel great to know that I have learnt how to use Adobe
Premiere Pro. It is my first experience using this software and it’s a
good feeling to know I have a mass amount of knowledge how to use
it. I used it to do my editing where I was able to brighten the
clips, adjust contrast, add transitions and effects like cube split and
slow motion, and also to insert audio tracks to play along with my
clips. Adobe Premiere Pro is such a fantastic software and it
encourages me in the post production aspect of movie making.
