1. The effect of playing online
games among AIU students in
Malaysia

2. Introduction
• An online game is a game
played over some form of
computer network .
• 50 AIU students from both
that is FSP and IEP students
of Albukhary International
University (AIU) completed a
survey for a week .

3. Statement of problem
• Online gaming can refer to any type of game that
someone can play through the Internet or over a
computer network. Most of the time, online gaming refers
to video games played over the Internet, where multiple
players are in different locations across the world. People
always play online games because they want to release
their tension, stress and also they want feel the enjoyable
from the online games. However, online game can
provide people with some disadvantages of online
game as well and it maybe will just trouble
themselves. So, that is the problem that I really want to
know.

4. Objective
1. Why types of game does AIU students mostly play ?
2. Why AIU students spend their time to play online
games?
3. What are the benefits that AIU students will get by
playing online game?
4. How long does AIU students spend to playing online
games in a day?
5. Does online game give bad effect to AIU students?
6. How AIU students play online games?

5. Scope
•
The study is consist of questionnaires which is given to 25
FSP students and 25 IEP students of Albukhary
International University (AIU).In this study I gathered
statistics about playing online games in a day period among
AIU students .
•
All the information and statistic in this survey is based on
feedback from 50 random chosen of AIU students.
•
The study is focus on why and how AIU students play online
game and consequences of playing online game .
•
I chose this topic due to the fact that majority of AIU
students have laptop and most of them always talk about
online games that they played.

6. Discussion
• most of them used internet for playing online
games and only small amount of students used
internet for completing the assignment. The rest
of them used internet for watching video and
chatting
• majority of AIU students used internet in the
library and some of them used internet in student
center and hostel. (Reasons: Speed of internet)

7. • highest percentages that are 40% of students
usually play online games for maximum is three
hours per day and 18% of them like to play more
than three hours per day. (Reasons: Addiction).

8. Yes and No question
Online games had affect AIU students in:
• Sleeping time (Addiction)
• Academic performances (Not focus in class)
• Time to eat ( Do not satisfy with the game)
• Sports activities (Do not tired and conclude all)

9. • Majority of them like to play action game which
is more aggressive.Only 24% of them like to
play adventure game and 20% of them like to
play romantic game. (Reasons: a lot of
character, power, and skill of fighting ).
• 90% of them claim that action game will
influence them to be violence .(Reasons: shows
related to criminal)

10. • Influence them to the wrong values like the way
of speaking, thinking, and behavior.
• 76% of them has improved in thinking and 24%
has improved in speaking and o% in writing .
(Reasons: How to solve mission,tell the
instructions).
• are 90 percent of them agree that online game
can release their tension and also stress
