2. In the film opening of project X all of the
characters are portrayed in many
different ways to establish their roles.
In the first shot, there is a girl in the party
who is licking the main protagonists
neck, this here follows the stereotype
that girls are more mature than boys as
we can also see that the boy is giggling.
Another stereotype that this shot follows
is that girls are more sexually outgoing
then boys and this shot here exemplifies
that.
The three shots of each of the main
protagonists are presented as excited
and drunk.
The first protagonists is portrayed as the
cool one out of the group compared to
the first one who seems to be the
character who is trying to become
popular, however the last protagonists
seems to be the uncool, nerdy character.
The three protagonists in Project X is
very similar to the three main
protagonists from Superbad, this shows
us the typical forms and conventions
which are portrayed throughout
teen/comedies.

3. Throughout the film opening
of Project X we do not see
many different settings, the
main three settings which we
get shown are the house of
the
protagonist, neighbourhood
of the party and also the
supermarket.
From the scenes where
there is a fire breaking out in
the neighbourhood due to
the party, we can get an
understanding that the boy
who is hosting the party is
quite rich. The fact that the
neighbourhood seems very
wealthy we get the idea that
this will be the main scene.

4. During the film opening the
cinematography of Project X
has included several different
camera shots and various
types of editing styles.
The scene starts off with the
protagonist talking to the
camera this here gives the
audience the impression that
this is a comedy and also that
this boy is a bit of a loser.
The close up of the two
protagonists with their arms
around each other shows that
they are having a good time
as well that they are quite
drunk as you can judge by
their facial expressions.
The long shot of the main
protagonist brushing his teeth
shows the audience that he
feels weird brushing his teeth
due to the fact he is being
recorded . This gives the
audience the impression that
he is self conscious. The
facial expression of this scene
is very important as it shows
the audience the exact feeling
of the protagonist.
