2. For the video of this song I would give it a old fashioned vintage look which
seems appropriate to the slow paced romantic style of the song.
I would use close up shots of the singers face to identify his emotions and
feelings towards the woman he is talking about in the song. However, I would
use tracking shots of the woman’s feet walking and of her lips to make her
seem mysterious and complicated.
I think the singer should be dressed in leather jackets and skinny trousers and
the woman be dressed in a dress and DM boots to create a vintage feel because
this is a common stereotype from that era. I also think the color should be in
black and white to emphasize the look and feel of the video being 60’s and old
fashion.
The white color represents the lyrics.
The red color represents the analysis of lyrics.
The blue color represents my own ideas for the
song video.
3. Have you got colour in your cheeks?
Do you ever get that fear that you can't shift the tide that
sticks around like summat in your teeth?
Are there some aces up your sleeve?
Have you no idea that you're in deep?
I dreamt about you nearly every night this week
How many secrets can you keep?
'Cause there's this tune I found that makes me think of
you somehow and I play it on repeat
Until I fall asleep
Spilling drinks on my settee
(Do I wanna know) If this feeling flows both ways?
(Sad to see you go)
Was sort of hoping that you'd stay (Baby we both know)
That the nights were mainly made for saying things that
you can't say tomorrow day
Crawling back to you
From these lines, we can tell that lead singer Alex Turner is
subtly flirting with the object of his desires. He's telling her
that simply from interacting with one another, she's
blushing, and that feeling of attraction is something
inevitable (like the tide), and it feels like she can't quite get
him out of her hair.
At the beginning of the song I would introduce the woman by
using different shots to the beat of the song which can
include mainly close ups of her face, chest to show what she
wearing and her legs, this will make her seem mysterious.
I would introduce the singer and have close ups of the
singers lips when singing to show he’s trying to be seductive
towards the woman. This will be set on a bridge where the
singer and the woman will meet.
He didn't realize that she was in as far deep as he was
when it came to their attraction, and it's not clear if
he's admitting it to her or just thinking in his head, but
there's a song he listens to as he falls asleep that
makes him think of her. But we know that he's a little
inebriated when he nods thinking about her, him
spilling on his settee suggests he's passing out on his
couch with a drink in hand.
In this scene I would have the singer laying on the sofa
listening to an old radio falling asleep and spilling his
drink.
It sounds like the singer is nervous whether or not this
girl he fancies feels the same way about him. Even
though he claimed to be able to see their mutual
attraction, maybe they're bad for one another. But he
admits his true feelings. Have the singer singing the
choruses to the camera as if he's also communicating
to the listeners.
4. Ever thought of calling when you've had a few?
'Cause I always do
Maybe I'm too busy being yours to fall for somebody new
Now I've thought it through
Crawling back to you
So have you got the guts?
Been wondering if your heart's still open and if so I wanna know what time it shuts
Simmer down and pucker up
I'm sorry to interrupt. It's just I'm constantly on the cusp of trying to kiss you don't know if you feel the same as I do
But we could be together if you wanted to
(Do I wanna know?)
If this feeling flows both ways?
(Sad to see you go)
Was sort of hoping that you'd stay
(Baby we both know)
That the nights were mainly made for saying things that you can't say tomorrow day
(Do I wanna know?)
If this feeling flows both ways?
(Sad to see you go)
Was sort of hoping that you'd stay
(Baby we both know)
That the nights were mainly made for saying things that you can't say tomorrow day
It now seems like the singer and this girl
have a history together, and with the
two of them still not "official", it's clear
the two of them aren't meant to be. But
every time he drinks, he calls her,
because the feelings he has for her
never really goes away. He always
crawls back to her.
He dares the girl to open up and tell
him her true feelings for him. He
wants to know if he has a chance
with her, even only for tonight
(while her heart's still open).
This scene will show the singer
trying to get closer the woman
trying to kiss her and questioning if
they can be together.
As he waits for her response, his
attempt to kiss her came at an
inappropriate time. He still doesn't
know how she feels, but at this point,
he seems weary and a little desperate
for her, and claims its her decision if
she wants them to be together.
5. Crawling back to you (crawling back to you)
Ever thought of calling when you've had a few? (you've had a
few)
'Cause I always do ('cause I always do)
Maybe I'm too (maybe I'm too busy) busy being yours to fall for
somebody new
Now I've thought it through
Crawling back to you
(Do I wanna know?)
If this feeling flows both ways?
(Sad to see you go)
Was sort of hoping that you'd stay
(Baby we both know)
That the nights were mainly made for saying things that you
can't say tomorrow day
(Do I wanna know?)
Too busy being yours to fall
(Sad to see you go)
Ever thought of calling down?
(Do I wanna know?)
Do you want me crawling back to you?
