1. Plot of short film:
Based in an apocalyptic setting, a man searches an abandoned house for food to
survive. However, he encounters many obstacles including the undead.
Towards the end of the film it will be revealed that this apocalyptic setting is not
real and is part of the protagonists imagination. The zombies he thinks he has
killed are his family.
Protagonist: The protagonist will look scruffy (e.g. messy hair) and will be
dressed in a t-shirt, trousers and trainers. He will have plasters (butterfly
closure) on his face when he is first seen. He will also be carrying a rucksack and
weapon.
Part one: (Colour – desaturated)
Shot panning up from kitchen floor reveals the protagonist strapping up his arm,
which is bleeding heavily. The protagonist hears a young boy standing behind
him.
Boy: What did you do to my mummy?...
Protagonist: What I had to…
Boy: Who are you?
Protagonist: Nobody.
The next part of the sequence is a flashback leading up to this point.
Part two: (Flashback - B&W)
Protagonist walks through a door into an assumed to be abandoned house. He
taps on the wall to make sure no one is home. He searches the corridor and
rooms with his weapon, and slowly walks through the corridor walking over
smashed glass and objects. He sees a hanging body in the hall that distracts him
from a zombie standing in the toilet. The zombie comes at him and grabs him.
There will be a flash to darkness. (Possible scene of protagonist walking up to a
figure (woman) on a bridge before he wakes in the next scene, dream).
Part three: (B&W)
The next shot shows the character on the floor in the bathroom injured. He
wakes up and notices the zombie laying in the corridor with his gun behind it. He
attempts to crawl over and reach for the gun over the body. He scurries back to
his position and breathes. The body begins to move and he quickly slams the
door and presses his back against it holding the door handle. Hitting noises are
heard on the door. After this stops he breathes again.
He is then alerted by movement, which is seen behind the bathtub curtains, he
raises his gun but doesn’t shoot. He pulls back the curtains to see nothing is there
and then walks over to the sink and looks in the mirror. Character then hears
tapping on the door. He aims his gun and walks slowly over to the door and

2. slowly opens it. In a panic he aims the gun looking around and backs into the
hanging man, which frightens him. He turns round to see it is no longer hanging.
It begins to take off the hood on its head. Protagonist wipes his eyes and sees it is
gone.
Part four: (B&W)
Character enters the living room to continue searching the house. He goes to the
kitchen puts his gun down and starts searching the cupboards (camera shot from
in the cupboard). He arranges all the tin food on the kitchen table ready to take.
He hears music coming from the living room corridor; he walks out of the
kitchen and slowly approaches it. He reaches out for the radio and is bitten on
the arm and overpowered by the zombie. It falls on top of him and they struggle.
The protagonist tries to reach for his weapon. Instead he rolls over on top of the
zombie and strangles it. Someone watches from under the table (young boy).
Flashback ends.
Part five: Resumes to present time (Part one) (Colour – desaturated)
The last scene picks up where the first scene ended. Protagonist hopelessly looks
at his arm and tries to stop the bleeding (The bite mark is revealed).
Boy: You killed her didn’t you!
He looks back at the boy and he is gone. He is confused about whether or not it
was a hallucination. The protagonist picks up a kitchen knife and raises it to
attempt to cut his arm off. He looks at his bite and sees it has disappeared.
He remains confused and follows after the boy. He is gone.
He slowly walks out and sees the body on the living room floor. He approaches it
looking at her face (has normal appearance, not zombie). He kneels down next to
her. Scene continues of him and this person on the bridge, which shows it is his
wife (same person on the floor).
He looks up and sees the hooded figure again. It takes off the hood and it is
revealed to be the protagonist. The figure is holding rope. The protagonist stands
on a chair and hangs himself. The small boy comes back out from under the table
to now see both parents’ dead.
