2. To do this research I went online to find the
demographics of research done previously for the three
main areas of narrowing down society, by age, by
gender and by race. By combining these I will know my
key target audience which I can then use for my focus
group.
I also found other information about target audiences
by looking at internet blogs which had discussions
about this topic.

group 15-25. It is mostly aimed at men as they are more likely to be able to
interact with the characters on screen. Women can interact with those on
screen to but they would tend to react differently. The secondary audience is
dating couples. this is more likely to be either very close but not married
couples or first date couples.

mostly curious and daring. This is because most horror films involve
unknowing, naive teenagers as the main protagonists, which are normally the

The results from my demographics in order are:
GENDER: Female – Male
AGE: 13-25 – 26-49 – 50+
RACE: Latino – Asian – Black – White
The results from the other answers are:
GENDER: Men - Female
AGE: 15-25 – ‘teenagers’
RACE: none given
The results are consistent in age so that will be the key part of my
focus group, they clash on gender, so I will use an equal number of
men and women and varied ethnicities.
