2. Character b’s kitchen In this setting character B gets watched by character A at her kitchen window. I chose this place for this scene because of the large windows at the back of the room which have no barriers to protect people in the house from being watched. The large space in the room shows each character B’s isolation, and by character A being at the window it symbolises her trying to invade and enter her personal space. By the glass being the barrier that protects character B it is the words that do not need to be said between two people who were friends. Character B is sitting on the only red item in this black and white room, this symbolises the danger that she feels, and she is presented to character A as a item of lust by sitting on a hot red sofa.
3. Character A’s bedroom This is character A’s bedroom, this where a large part of the music video takes place, it is the place where their friendship is ruined, and character A’s life is ended. By having the furniture made up for browns and beiges it symbolises earth, decay and death. Although both colours are quite calming, they are used as juxtaposition with the extreme events that take place there. The room shows the characters thoughts by the colours being ones which just blend into the background, this is similar to the feelings of character A who wants t be noticed and loved.
4. Stairs The stairs that lead to character A’s bedroom have contain a spiral which represents the twisting unstable thoughts that go on in her head. The way that the decorating has not been finished in this place shows the luminal space that the character in, they are not rubble, yet they are not complete. The characters thoughts are not completely crazy yet they are nowhere near sane.
5. Character B’s house The outside of character B’s house is shown when character A is gazing up at her bedroom. The house represents normality and stability that is shown through character B. It is a typical 4 bedroom family home. The colours of the outside are neutral to show that nothing abnormal usually happens to anyone in this family.
6. Roads Characters walking down the road appear a few times throughout the music video, they show the transgression from both one place to another and states of mind. The long narrowness of streets shows the journey that the characters friendship is on, and it foreshadows that it will at some point have to come to an end. The isolation that character A feels when walking down the road alone is shown by the emptiness of human life on the street at that current time.
7. Field/forrest It is here that you see character A when her secret was reviled. It was chosen as it is a wide open space to show the isolation that the character is feeling. Whilst the colour green represents life it is used as a juxtaposition to foreshadow the lose of life that will follow.
