Idea’s
Studio Shoot –
• Use a bright white background, multiple shots and close-ups from side and
front facing. Have long shots to show all of the artists but focus on close ups
as it shows expression
• Use green screen and choose a suitable backdrop for my artist, have her
walking or motionless singing to the song. Makes the background easier to use
and ensure good lighting which not always happens when scenes are shot on
location.
• Use the lighting in the studio to male her seem in the shadows and just show
the figure f the artist, making her seem fragile and distant – however could be
limited to how much I could use it within the actual music video.
Narrative Sequence –
• Shots in the window of a house, singing outwards looking into the sky with
rain hitting the window. Close-up shots of the singers face to show emotion,
reflection shots as well so it looks as though she is looking at herself which
links lyrics with visuals.
• Use a girl looking through all the memories of a previous boyfriend and
getting sad, then towards the end of the song he comes to her door and she yet
again has the dilemma of sending him away or risking getting hurt, again
linking the lyrics with the visuals.
• Have a girl sitting watching television when it comes on the screen images of
her and her previous boyfriend having fun and she gets angered but how much
she misses him and smashes her glass.
• Have a scorned girl burning the possessions and memories of an ex-boyfriend
after she finds herself still thinking about him.
• A girl out with her friends having a laugh when she sees’s her ex with another
girl laughing and joking. Use the couple as a framing shot to her singing in
between them of the hurt. Have the girls pull her away as she gets upset yet
again – linking with lyrics as she sings ‘When Will it End’ referring to her
hurt over this guy.
