Best Practices for Implementing an External Recruiting Partnership
Bio 2009
1. Sondra L. Bradley
National Training & Operations Leader, representing
Independent Producer’s of America (IPA)
As a dedicated, experienced business entrepreneur, Sondra Bradley embodies the spirit of Zig Ziglar’s
powerful motto: “You can have everything in life you want, if you just help enough other people get what
they want.”
Sondra has over two decades of experience in the insurance industry and currently serves as an
Independent National Training & Operations Leader for IPA responsible for nationwide training, common
sales platforms, marketing and operations! Sondra has filled many pertinent roles within the insurance industry but the ones that she
takes to heart are field related. She states: “Walking in the shoes of our local field agent’s is very important to me. Understanding
what it takes to make a sale, retaining the acquisition of that sale, and doing what it takes to continue building residual income and
wealth while serving the marketplace with integrity is critical to our industry!” Leading teams, recruiting, motivating, and training are a
passion of hers and that coupled with her experience provides IPA the confidence that she can serve our company and field force well!
Prior to joining IPA, Sondra’s strength of conviction in helping others led her to co-found a new division of the Zig Ziglar Organization;
Ziglar Performance Group taking the role as their Independent National Performance Leader for the Eastern United States. This
division was created to bring the philosophies, teachings and wisdom of world renowned author & motivational speaker Zig Ziglar,
directly to individuals & companies through a locally-based network of certified Independent Contractors of Sondra’s organization,
Bradley Performance Group d/b/a Ziglar Performance Group. In this venture Sondra recruited, motivated, trained and certified on
behalf of Ziglar, Sales Trainers & Speakers to represent their products & services in local markets, as well as conducted speaking &
training engagements herself personally to groups sizing from 5 to over 3,000!
Before starting her own business in 2004, Sondra spent over 17 years at United Insurance Companies, Inc. (UCI) and of that, 11 years
at Cornerstone America (a division of UCI), a nearly $400 million marketer of health insurance to individuals and small business
owners. Sondra worked her way up through various positions within this organization but ultimately she served as Executive Vice-
President overseeing operations, marketing, and technology departments and finally moved into a sole-proprietorship as their National
Training Leader. As National Training Leader, Sondra traveled weekly coast to coast serving their primary customer – the sales force!
In this business nothing happened until a sale was made, and the service of the sales person submitting the sale as well as the
acquisition of the sale was critical to the organizations success! Her focus on serving others with C.H.A.R.A.C.T.E.R. (Commitment,
Honesty, Accountability, Responsibility, Attitude, Communication, Trust, Ethics, and Respect) directly impacted both the quality of the
sales force and the quality of business being written. She traveled weekly to motivate and train the sales force, ensured nationwide
consistency in regulatory & sales practices, authored training programs, implemented a consistent training platform, as well as
authored & co-authored numerous sales & marketing materials.
Immediately preceding, and following 9/11, the fast-growing company had found itself struggling to keep up with the needs of an
aggressive expanding business growth. Sondra took the responsibility of supporting the field, serving as a liaison helping to balance
their business, service and regulatory needs. Sondra was often referred to as “the bubble in the level” -- greatly admired and
appreciated by the sales team. At the same time, Sondra was responsible for national compliance, regulatory and legal issues and
spent much time working with attorneys, legal analysts and Department of Insurance regulators to ensure compliance in each state in
which Cornerstone did business – 37 in all. As she traveled the country meeting sales reps and conducting trainings, it was important
to Sondra to understand their business environment and the challenges they faced. She earned her insurance license and became
licensed in nearly all 52 states. She also changed her employment status to independent contractor to truly walk in the shoes of those
she served. This exceptional level of commitment and devotion allows Sondra a rare empathy, compassion & respect.
Sondra has overcome a significant amount of adversity in her life and could share story after story with you on overcoming adversity,
and how the choices you make affect your life and others in more ways you can imagine! With her insights to personal & professional
balance, combined with vast experience and motivational skill, Sondra is uniquely suited to lead her organization, making a difference
for others!
Sondra moved from Dallas, TX to Atlanta, GA in 2004. She enjoys helping and serving others, art, movies, traveling, warmer months
and walks on the beach!
