GTC Technology
GTC Technology is a global licensor of process
technologies offering innovative and custom solutions to
the chemical, petrochemical, refining and gas processing
markets. Our history of innovation dates back to our
heritage as a process technology solutions division at a
major engineering, procurement and construction firm.
For the hydrocarbon processing industry, we offer more
than 25 licensed technologies to increase capacity, improve
efficiency, and maximize production
GTC Technology Partnerships at Work
Whether using our own innovative technologies or
working with highly experienced technology partners,
GTC brings a variety of innovative ideas to the process
industry. In the sulfur and gas processing field, we offer
“modified Claus” as well as novel technologies that can
leverage “modified Claus” processes, and operate in
capacity ranges where such technology is not economically
or operationally competitive.
GT-SPOC™ - Next Generation CLAUS process
GT-SPOC is a novel and patented technology that
eliminates the flame section of a conventional “modified
Claus” unit, simultaneously improving conversion
efficiency. Many of the problems associated with “modified
Claus” units are addressed (COS formation, CS2
formation, difficulty controlling air/acid gas ratio, sooting
during start up and shut down). GT-SPOC can upgrade
the furnace section of conventional “modified Claus” units to
improve performance and conversion efficiency.
In summary, GT-SPOC has applicability to reduce
unit footprint, reduce capital cost and increase overall
conversion efficiencies in a new installation, while
producing high purity sulfur.
GT-DOS™ - Direct Oxidation of Sulfur
GT-DOS is a novel and patented direct oxidation
technology that directly converts H2
S to sulfur. The
advantage is that single stage efficiency of nearly 90% is
possible without requiring acid gas enrichment.
GT-DOS can directly treat amine offgas streams, provide
a final treatment stage in a Claus process and treat fuel
gas streams to reduce sulfur emissions from furnaces and
incinerators.
CrystaSulf®
CrystaSulf is a liquid phase Claus technology, where the
produced sulfur is dissolved in a proprietary solvent. The
sulfur is crystalized under lower temperature conditions
and recovered. The lean solvent is then recirculated.
CrystaSulf has particular applicability to treat high
pressure, lean H2
S streams without the need for acid gas
enrichment, or CO2
removal, while delivering a sweet
treated gas stream. This technology is applicable to natural
gas streams including those streams that are contaminated
with heavy hydrocarbons, such as recycle hydrogen streams
in refineries or coal gasification streams.

Conventional Amine, Claus and Tail Gas
We have an established group of highly qualified,
experienced engineers who are well known in the sulfur
management industry. This group has licensed and
designed hundreds of sulfur recovery and tail gas treating
units as well as sulfur degassing and gas processing plants
over the years. With at least 25 years of experience per
engineer in comprehensive sulfur management, it is
a veteran team that has access to premier technology
providers worldwide, relationships with all major licensors
and equipment suppliers, and extensive experience with
amine, conventional Claus and associated technologies.
GT-SORB™ - Sorbents and Catalysts
GTC offers a range of catalysts and sorbents to remove
trace quantities of sulfur from gas and liquid streams.
GT-CO2
- CO2
Removal and Carbon Capture
GTC’s background in CO2
capture dates to pioneering
work in the mid 1980’s in CO2
with flue gases and
other high CO2
streams. The technology is based on
the use of amine based solvents to capture CO2
by
absorption followed by regeneration to recover the CO2
.
Optimized amine chemistry to manage amine degradation
and operation in the presence of oxygen are critical.
Innovations in mass transfer and heat transfer improve
overall energy efficiency.
EPCm and Modular Systems
GTC has the capability of providing basic engineering
packages, front-end engineering design, detailed
engineering, procurement, and construction management
as well as complete modular systems.
