1. Story-telling Reflection
My Story is called Alien’s attack.
The Planning Process:
I chose to write an action genre because it is cool and my group likesexciting
things.The most interesting thing about my main character is that he likes
science.We chose to the set the story in New York because New York is a cool
city and my group likes New York.While making my plot diagram, I found it
difficult because I should have an idea and sometimes the ideas changed.My
best idea during planning was shooting water gun to aliens because it was
cool and our movie genre was action.While planning this story I learned that
it takes a lot of time and a lot of steps to make a story.
The Drafting & Revising Processes:
It was difficult to write my story draft because I needed to add to the main
idea to make it not boring.I am proud of my story because I took a lot of time
to write it and make it interesting.During the Writing Workshops, I learned
how to make sentence better and not let my work be boring. I became better
at writing sentences.While talking to Jacqueline Harvey, I learned that some
authors go to another country to sell books so that people will buy them.
If I wrote it again, I would try to improve my story by writing better
sentences and adding some more details.
Digital Production and Editing:
I am proud of my movie because it is cool and me and my group made it by
ourselves.I found it difficult to create the storyboard because we should
organize all the scenes and ideas. My role was to be the illustrator.I worked
especially hard at color, because color makes picture better on screen. The
thing I am most happy with is I made a movie with my group.While making
the movie, I learned many new technology skills in iMovie. I became much
better at using iMovie and Garage Band.If I made the movie again, I would try
to do some more panning to make my pictures move.
Collaboration:
Sometimes, I enjoyed group work because it is easier to do it together.
Other times, I didn’t enjoy group work because my group didn’t make a movie
and play.While working in a group, I learned how to use Garage Band.
During the unit, our group became better at adding details and writing better
sentences.
What else?
During this story-telling unit I especially enjoyed making a movie because it
was hard but it was also very fun.After this unit, I willcontinue to make comic
strips because it is funny and I like reading comics as a genre.
