0 Pay for exam fee ($94 USD 2017-2018)
0 Are set up with a mentor/master teacher in the subject area
0 Write an exam in May
0 Levels 4 and 5 are typically rewarded with a transfer credit*
0 Postsecondary institutions decide what credit to award once
you are a university student

0 Western’s Initiative for Scholarly Excellence
0 Who can apply:
0 high school students in Grades 11-12 (must have min 22 credits
achieved);
0 completed 1.0+ 4U or 4M credits; overall 80% in Grades 10+; or no
4U/4M courses but 85% average in Grades 10+;
0 meet Western’s requirements for English proficiency;
0 registered sufficient courses to fulfill admission to university
0 What: pursue a university level credit at the university campus or
distance studies while in high school (FREE tuition!)
0 Please note that students must be nominated by a guidance counsellor
or principal, which is part of the application process; preference given to
Grade 11 and 12 students

0 Develop and consolidate the skills required for knowledge of different subjects/disciplines:

0 With your group discuss ideas that you would like to
participate in for LDSS’ ELOPE sessions.
0 With your group record your ideas.
0 Share your brainstorm ideas to the session participants;
categorize them by discipline (where would they “fit”?)
0 Share your ideas on the “Bank of Ideas” on the wall (by
discipline cluster).

14. Dotmocracy Activity
0Each member will get to award 10 stickers
0 Show us which ones you’re interested in attending (can put multiple
stickers beside ones you’re really interested in)
0Grade 9s will have green stickers;
0Grade 10s will have blue stickers;
0Grade 11s will have purple stickers; and
0Grade 12s will have pink stickers.

0 We will collate the ideas;
0 Afterwards, we will begin organizing activities based on
your interests;
0 Majority of the activities will be during school hours;
however, there will be times we will do something after
hours ( show, event, activity).
