This document outlines the schedule and topics for a watercolor fundamentals class at UC Berkeley Extension taught by Glenn Hirsch. The class will cover techniques like brushwork and abstraction in the first few sessions. Later sessions will focus on color theory and applying it to landscapes, still lifes, and people. Students will work on a course project and go on a field trip to the Legion of Honor museum. The class will conclude with a final critique and party. Tree painting techniques are also discussed, including showing their gesture, layers of leaves, cast shadows, and ways to illustrate or suggest leaves in the painting.
