The document provides information on various teaching and learning initiatives at the school for the month. More able students will be the focus of learning walks and work scrutinies by Heads of Department to evaluate provision and identify areas for development. Student feedback will be collected from student trails and discussions with the Student Council and English classes. The quality of feedback provided by teachers will also be reviewed using departmental policies. Evidence will continue to be gathered on the provision for students' social, moral, cultural and spiritual development. An inspirational teaching blog highlighting research on the ineffectiveness of highlighters for revision is shared. An upcoming staff briefing will discuss a race review and professional development booklets on growth mindset will be distributed.

CLASSROOMS!
Focus Week 3:
More able students: HoDs will be carrying out learning
walks and work scrutinies; they will collect evidence on the
proformas and will produce a report on the quality of
provision, and areas for development, in each department. SLT
will be carrying out student trails and reviewing schemes of
learning. The Student Council and 9 set 1 Eng and 11 set 1 Eng
will be taking part in student voice.
Feedback review: KH will carry out learning walks using
departmental feedback policies and reports from FW1 to
review the quality of feedback.
SMSC: DW and Louise Hickes continue to audit and collect
evidence for the SMSC grid.
