3. Suggested Answer
Some parents feel that school should not
encourage sports. Academic studies are
scarified for the sake of some useless
trophies. The exam certificates are much
more valuable. They have even asked the
schools to abolish sport day. Academic
achievement is the top priority rather than
sport achievement.
4. I feel that we need to take a look at the role
of sports properly in school life. Schools teach
the values of leadership, cooperation, initiative
and responsibility. Such good values can be
instilled during class lessons. However, I feel
that sports play a more meaningful role in
instilling these values. Sports encourage
leadership as every game requires a leader or
captain. It requires teamwork or cooperation,
initiative and a sense of responsibility to do well
in competitions.
5. Sports provide an avenue for
students to exercise and relax after their
studies. Their boundless energy needs an
outlet. As they play, they sweat and
release tension and stress. After this, their
minds are recharged and they go back to
their books in a more relaxed frame of
mind. It cannot be denied that sports add
to their physical well-being in the long
run.
6. Students who are not so academically
inclined may be good in certain sports or
games. Through involvement in sports in
school, they might be able to find their
talent lies. Their career can take off from
here.
