1. School in hospitals

2. Definition
• A hospital school is a school operated in a hospital,
generally a children's hospital which provides
instruction to all primary and secondary grade levels.
These schools help children regain academic
progress during periods of hospitalization or
rehabilitation.

3. Who?
• Collaborate with the Education and Health
Ministries
• Inspired by the Deputy Prime Minister’s wife,
Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, who is the
patron of ‘Hati Nurani’ project.

4. Why?
• An effort that will allow children admitted to
hospitals to continue getting formal education
• The classes for preschoolers, primary and
secondary schools patients will be held
following the national education syllabus
including lesson for bedridden patients.

5. How?
• The schools are most often accredited and run
by the local public school system, funded by
the state, and are based on the same
curriculum and testing mandated by the state
as is practical for the students.

7. Sekolah Dalam Hospital (SDH)
• Laporan lawatan ke Sydney, Australia dan kertas cadangan
penubuhan SDH telah dibentang dan diterima dalam Mesyuarat
Jawatankuasa Induk Projek Hati Nurani, Sekolah Dalam Hospital
pada 15 April 2011 yang dipengerusikan oleh YAB Timbalan Perdana
Menteri merangkap Menteri Pelajaran.
• Penggunaan nama “Sekolah Dalam Hospital (SDH)” telah
dipersetujui dalam Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Projek Khas Hati
Nurani bertarikh 19 Mei 2011 yang dipengerusikan oleh Ketua
Pengarah Pelajaran Malaysia.
• Model SDH Malaysia berpandukan kepada model SDH Australia
yang disesuaikan

8. Model SDH
• Laporan lawatan ke Sydney, Australia dan kertas cadangan penubuhan SDH telah

9. Program SDH
• Satu bentuk perkhidmatan pendidikan yang berterusan secara formal
& berstruktur.
• Berfokuskan kepada kesediaan & keupayaan murid yang sedang
menerima rawatan di wad hospital.
• Didik Hibur & Fleksibel.
• Guru sebagai pemudah cara.
• Pembangunan modal insan dapat diteruskan di luar amalan
persekolahan yang konvensional.

10. HOSPITAL ORANG ASLI, GOMBAK
• Gombak Hospital is the only hospital
specifically for the Orang Asli, the indigenous
minority of Peninsular Malaysia. Focusing on
the Hospital and its network of outstation
services, this project explored the relationship
between the nation state and the Orang Asli
through the lens of healthcare provision and
asked how the medical services contributed to
their notion of being indigenous.

11. • Based at Gombak, the project encompassed
the mobile services run by the Hospital, both
land-based services and the flying doctor
service that visits isolated villages in the
remote interior of the Peninsula.
