9. Accesibility on SICTED – Tourism
Quality for Destinations
Accessibility is an indispensable element of tourism quality, and therefore includes
various elements of accessibility such as the following:
• Specific Accessibility chapter on SICTED Good Practice Manuals
• Verification of requirements for Accessibility for obtaining the distinction in
Tourism Quality
• Specific requirements for each sector, for example:
• Leisure Parks
• VISITABLE PLACES.ACCESIBILITY
• CARRIER AND VEHICLES ARE AVAILABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH REDUCED MOBILITY OR SPECIAL
NEEDS.
• M22 module of Accessible Tourism is taught in the Tourism Quality Training
program
• Course for managers of SICTED destinations: "Accessible Tourism and Attention
to the public with disabilities and other diverse needs"

10. Accessibility on Smart Destinations
Regulatory framework
•This field analyzes compliance with the applicable regulations on accessibility; the existence of
specific ordinances or regulations for the management / application of accessibility; the
contemplation of accessibility aspects in other regulations
Accessibility management
•The main criteria include the existence of human, technical and economic resources for the
management and application of accessibility in the destination and the existence of an
accessibility plan
Implementation of accessibility in the destination
•In this area is verified accessibility measures in infrastructures and provision of services, the
degree of accessibility of the destination (transport infrastructures, public roads, public
buildings, buildings of interest to the tourist, private sector, services that are provided to
tourists, etc.)
Technological accessibility
•Verifying that all the technological tools available to the destination comply with the minimum
accessibility requirements (web pages, electronic payment systems, applications, information
terminals, digital screens, etc.).

11. Standards for Accessibility in Tourism
Within UNE 178501:2018 standard of “Management System for Smart
Tourist Destinations. Requirements” a chapter is included on the
Accessibility requirements that destinations must meet.

In the standard UNE 178502:2018 “Indicators and tools of smart tourist
destinations”, a battery of indicators has also been included in terms of
accessibility so that this area can be measured in the destinations.
