5. What is Power Point
 A Microsoft presentation package
 Helps to support talks, lectures and other forms of instruction
 Can be used to summarize a lecture
 Main points can be emphasized
 Key issues can be displayed
 It helps to create interactive multimedia
 Can be used to make lesson more organized and flexible

6.  Offers word processing,
 Visual images
 Sound
 Animation
 And other forms of interactivity

 Field Trip Slide Shows
 Autobiography stories
 Interactive book eportfolio
 Group slide shows
 Science Presentations
 Student portfolios

8.  Most PowerPoint presentations you see in school or at work are what
are called linear presentations.
 That is, each slide is designed to proceed one slide right after another.
 The first slide transitions to the second, which transitions to the third, and
so forth. For many educational tasks, this is fine.

9.  PowerPoint is a great tool for presenting but needs more for developing e-
learning content.

10. Office Mix
 Office mix is Microsoft’s attempt at resolving the gap in PowerPoint’s
capability.
 Microsoft Mix is a free PowerPoint add-in that will turn your PowerPoint
presentation into an interactive online video
 It is a plugin for Office 2013
 Office mix is currently an application for Power Point alone.

13. What are the benefits to the teacher
and the students
 Make yourself available when students need to listen to your lessons more
than once
 Accommodate students who learn at different rates
 Check the comprehension of each student in the class, not just the most
vocal ones
 Create video-based lessons without a lot of knowledge about video
production and technology.

14. What do I need to get started
 Know how to use PowerPoint
 Mix is compatible with PowerPoint 2013 or
above on a PC and does not operate on a
MAC platform
 Obtain a Microsoft account at mix.office.com,
or Facebook, or Google to log in to Mix
 Download and install the PowerPoint Mix add-
in(plugin)from http://mix.office.com

15. Live Media Recording
 Allows you to record your video and/or audio while running through your
slideshow
 Allows you to draw on it as you present and speak.

16. How to use
 To start recording, simply press the red Record button in the top left of the
window and present your content, slide by slide, as if you were in front of
your audience. When you’re done, press the Stop button
