Most people associate learning with formal education at school, college,
university etc. We are all told, from an early age, that we should ‘get a
good education’.
However, ‘schooling’ is only one type of learning. There are many other
opportunities to further your knowledge and develop the skills you need
throughout life.

All learning activity undertaken throughout life, with the aim of improving
knowledge, skills and competences within a personal, civic, social and/or
employment-related perspective".

8. Use of ICT in learning
The ubiquitous use of mobile telephones, personal computers, internet
and social media has enabled new ways of communicating and
collaborating; it has changed people’s private and working lives, and
significantly transformed major sectors of the economy.
ICT is a powerful tool to promote and support a wide range of 21st century
skills, including all other learning design rubrics.
For example, ICT can help students to collaborate in ways that were not
possible before, or to communicate through new mediums of expression.

IS is a course of study made available over the Internet without charge to a
very large number of people.
Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are full courses offered online and
free of charge to any user; they have expanded incredibly fast and are
subject to rapid change in both application and us.

learning program that is designed for the participation of large numbers of
geographically dispersed students
