1. Mise en Scene: Our
characters and
settings
BY FRASER MCPHERSON
2. The Actors
For our production we plan on using 6 actors; four participants, a
presenter and a ‘psychologist’. For the presenter we will use on of
the group members. This is because on the day of filming we
don’t want to have to get too many people from Uxbridge to
Harrow and back. By keeping it small it makes transporting people
around easier. We plan on using a psychology teacher from
school playing the part of the psychologist as she will have
previous knowledge on the subject and will be willing to help
3. The Actors continued
For our participants we plan on using four of our friends; Tom H, Joss, Tom C and Giles. They all did
GCSE drama and Joss and Tom C are doing A level drama. Tom C and Giles have acted in media
productions for other schools and Tom C was in our production for AS. They are all very reliable to the
point that they will arrive to an agreed location twenty minutes before the agreed time. We all have
complete faith that they help us and will be professional whilst doing the production.

4. Location
We plan on basing the documentary in a scout hut a group member goes to. This is because it is in a
very remote location and the inside of the hut is barren and plain. There are camp beds and steel
containers that we can freely use as props.
5. Lighting
We will use the lights in the hut for our lighting as they are bright and focuses well with the camera.
For when we film outside we will use natural light and unnatural light when we are filming in darker
areas.
6. Clothes
For our production we will have our participants wear casual clothes so that they can relate to the
audience better. The presenter and ‘psychologist’ will wear more formal clothing to make them look
professional.
