2. How do my products use, develop and
challenge forms and conventions of
real media products?
• My products challenge real world products by the fact that
they look on the whole quite professional because of the
effort I have put into completing them and the use of
research before I started to find out what my target
audience required from my finished product. I took
influence from some Hollywood fighting films and tried to
create my own in a music video style. I think it worked
quite well considering the equipment I had to use. I used a
story based video like my researched ones as I felt these
were the most interesting type to create and show.
3. What have you learned from your
audience feedback?
• From my audience feedback I have leant that in my music
video I should have made the fight scene longer at the end
of the video but I felt this wasn’t possible because my
actors were not trained in movie stunts in which are
required to do in such a scene. The audience felt I should
have used more camera angles to enhance the experience
of the video so that the audience could feel more involved
in the story.
“I feel the fight scene
wasn’t long enough”
“More camera angles
could have been
used”
4. How did you use media technologies
in the construction and research,
planning and evaluation stages?
• I used a computer to make my video, album cover and
poster in which I used software programs such as ‘Slide
share’ for the uploading side of things, ‘Blogger’ to show
all my work and to be able to communicate with my
teacher and class, ‘Pinnacle studio 12’ and finally I used
Photoshop to edit my photos on the album cover and
poster. I also used an iPad to upload progress updates of
my music videos to blogger so that people could know
where I was up to in my project.
5. Overall how effective is the
combination of your main products
and your ancillary products?
• My products work quite well together considering the
genre of music I have chosen as I have used an overall dark
theme to show the dark side of my music and that its quite
individual in its own genre – drum & base. My main video is
quite simply made yet looks pretty professional just like my
other products (my album cover and my poster) which also
look basic yet effective as I used my research to find that
basic is quite eye catching to the audience which I induced
into my own products.
