1. DStreet snaps 4 day losing streak on Jhunjhunwala comments

After four consecutive sessions of weakness, bulls came back at their roaring best on ace investor Rakesh
Jhunjhunwalaโs optimistic comments. Sensex spiked over 330 points and Nifty climbed 1.16% to settle at 7580. On
BSE sectorial front, Realty topped to be on the buyerโs radar and HealthCare was the sole loser.
Among global peers, US markets traded flat shrugging off the good macro-economic digits. On the other hand, Asian
markets were trading higher in green territory post a sluggish start.
Back home, on currency front, Rupee recovered some of the lost ground of previous sessions tailing the optimism in
local equities. In futures trades, INR hit an intra-day high of 60.09/USD and an intra-day low of 60.22/USD. In spot
trades, INR hit an intra-day high of 60.07/USD and an intra-day low of 60.17/USD. As per RBI reference rates, INR
stood at 60.1/USD.
On commodities front, the yellow metal strengthened a bit amidst weakness in global markets citing the ongoing
tensions in Iraq. In futures trades of August expiry, Gold marked intra-day high at Rs 27865 per 10 grams and an intra-
day low at Rs 27585 per 10 grams.
On stock-specific front, Jubilant Foodworks rallied 7.35% on BSE as a foreign brokerage company upgraded the
stock to buy with a target price of Rs 1500 per share.
Bajaj Hindusthan soared 6.6% on BSE on redeeming the Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds (FCCBs) held by
International Finance Corporation (IFC), Washington aggregating to $15 million.
IRB Infrastructure Developers jumped 4.85% on BSE as its arm entered into concession agreement with NHAI for the
project of Four Laning of Kaithal - Rajasthan Border.
The market breadth on the BSE closed in positive. Advancing and declining stocks were 2119 and 1052 respectively,
while 139 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 25368.90, up 337.58 points or 1.35%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low
of 25414.69 and 25115.83 respectively. 26 stocks advanced against 4 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty gained 86.85 points or 1.16% to settle at 7580.20. The index touched high and low of 7593.35 and
7515.20 respectively. 39 stocks advanced against 11 declining ones on the index.
S&P BSE Sensex CNX Nifty
The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 9161.18 and gained 1.59% while S&P BSE Small-cap index jumped up by
1.64% to 9977.71.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index increased to 9702.21 (up 1.28%) and CNX 500 index rose to 6113.85 (up 1.26%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 1.21% at 19.19 from its previous close of 18.96 on Monday.
Sectors in action
On the BSE Sectorial front, Real Estate (up 3.16%), Consumer Durables (up 2.44%) and Oil & Gas (up 2.17%) were
the top gainers.
Healthcare (down 0.09%) was the sole loser.
The Angels and the Devils
GAIL (India) Ltd (up 4.56%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (up 2.81%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd
(up 2.48%), State Bank of India (up 2.24%) and Axis Bank (up 2.19%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (down 0.85%), Infosys Ltd (down 0.64%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd (down 0.01%) and
Wipro Ltd (down 0.01%) were the top losers on the Sensex.
2. Benchmark Drivers
Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (46.78 points), Reliance Industries Ltd (43.20 points), ITC Ltd (41.01
points), ICICI Bank (33.96 points) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (26.96 points) were the major Sensex drivers
today.
On the other end Reliance Industries Ltd (11.68 points), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (11.16 points),
ITC Ltd (9.27 points), ICICI Bank (8.70 points) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (7.09 points) were the major Nifty
movers today.
Pivot, Supports and Resistance Levels
CNX Nifty is now pivoted at 7563 for next session. The next support is at 7532 and on upside it has a resistance at
7611 levels.
