1. Markets resume 'green' streak; Nifty @7891

Following a cautious start, Indian markets jumped to trade higher in the green zone. Markets continued to trade in
positive terrain on the reports of good foreign inflows. In noon trades, markets dipped once to mark intraday low but
soon bounced back to trade above water. Benchmarks ended 0.2% up with Nifty at 7891. On BSE sectorial front,
Consumer Durables was the top gainer.
Among global counterparts, most of the US markets managed a green close following the release of Federal
Reserve's monetary policy meeting minutes. On the other hand, Asian indices were trading mixed amidst disappointing
manufacturing digits from China.
Back home, on the currency front, Rupee weekend against Dollar as the Fed move may cause reduction in flow of
funds to emerging markets.
On commodities turf, Gold traded lower today as the Fed minutes suggested an early rate hike if the job markets will
show persistent improvement.
On stock specific front, country’s consumer durable major, Titan Company Ltd zoomed 6% to make new 52 week
high of Rs 370.4 on BSE after foreign brokerage firm Morgan Stanley upgraded the stock to ‘over-weight’ from ‘under-
weight’ with a raised target price of Rs 420 per share from Rs 330 per share.
Sterlite Technologies locked at upper circuit of 5% on BSE as the company expects to be benefited by the Digital India
plan that has been approved by the Government yesterday.
Claris Lifesciences climbed 3.56% on BSE on getting MHRAapproval for its newly commissioned plant which will help
the company in enhancing capacities to grow in the regulated markets.
The market breadth on the BSE closed in positive. Advancing and declining stocks were 1772 and 1401 respectively,
while 117 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 26360.11, up 45.82 points or 0.17%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low of
26464.80 and 26262.52 respectively. 15 stocks advanced against 15 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty gained 15.80 points or 0.20% to settle at 7891.10. The index touched high and low of 7919.65 and
7855.95 respectively. 24 stocks advanced against 26 declining ones on the index.
S&P BSE Sensex CNX Nifty
The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 9320.55 and gained 0.48% while S&P BSE Small-cap index jumped up by
0.34% to 10298.50.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index increased to 10059.79 (up 0.26%) and CNX 500 index rose to 6339.35 (up 0.28%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 0.51% at 13.73 from its previous close of 13.66 on Wednesday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Consumer Durables (up 3.78%), Banks (up 1.18%) and Automobile (up 0.79%) were the
top gainers.
Real Estate (down 1.91%), Metals (down 1.35%) and Power (down 0.99%) were the top losers.
The Angels and the Devils
Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 3.15%), State Bank of India (up 2.27%), HDFC Bank (up 1.35%), Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (up
1.34%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (up 1.28%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
NTPC Ltd (down 1.86%), Sesa Sterlite Ltd (down 1.73%), Tata Steel Ltd (down 1.62%), Dr. Reddys Laboratories Ltd
(down 1.52%) and Hindalco Industries Ltd (down 1.36%) were the top losers on the Sensex.
2. Benchmark Drivers
HDFC Bank (24.59 points), State Bank of India (21.15 points), Larsen And Toubro Ltd (13.83 points), Housing
Development Finance Corporation Ltd (-12.58 points) and Bajaj Auto Ltd (11.52 points) were the major Sensex drivers
today.
On the other end HDFC Bank (6.68 points), State Bank of India (5.14 points), Larsen And Toubro Ltd (3.77 points),
Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (-3.45 points) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (3.14 points)
were the major Nifty movers today.
