1. Sensex ends flat amid range bound trading

Indian indices made a cautious but ‘green’ start and continued to trade marginally up amidst lack of buying catalyst. In
noon trades, pessimism in Asian and European counterparts dragged markets in negative terrain. Amidst choppy
trading, benchmarks managed to close in green with Nifty settling at 7640. On BSE sectorial front, Metal index was the
top gainer whereas Realty topped the losers.
Among global peers, US markets climbed higher with the Dow Jones Industrial Average closing at a record level for
the 15th time this year amidst improvement on economic conditions and labor markets. On the flip side, Asian and
European markets were trading in red zone shrugging off the positive cues from Wall-Street.
Back home, on stock specific front, Kotak Mahindra Bank jumped 3.45% on BSE after its board approved to
increase the ceiling of Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) to 40% with immediate effect.
Crompton Greaves rallied 13.45% to mark new 52 week high at Rs 216.7 on BSE after getting nod from Board to
demerge its Consumer Products business unit into a separate listed company.
HSIL soared 5% on BSE after the company said that it is targeting 15-17% revenue growth in FY15 as against last
year’s revenue of Rs 1850 crore.
Kolte-Patil Developers climbed 4.9% to make new 52 week high at Rs 170.95 on BSE on receiving Location Clearance
from the Urban Development Department (UDD) for the first phase of its Sanjivani Integrated Township project in Pune
located at Urse, on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
Financial Technologies (India) (FTIL) gained 3.5% on BSE on offloading 2040901 equity shares of MCX (up 6%) in the
market to reduce its shareholding to 20%. Earlier on July 08, 2014, company sold 1019000 equity shares of MCX in
the market.
Key Quarterly Results
Bajaj Auto slipped 2.3% on BSE after reporting a marginal rise of 0.31% in Q1 Net at Rs 740 crore as compared to Rs
737.68 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.
CMC plunged 5% on BSE after its Q1FY15 Net plunged 55.64% to Rs 41.93 crore as compared to Rs 94.53 crore for
the same quarter in the previous year. On consolidated basis, group’s Net rose 10% at Rs 58.43 crore for the quarter
as compared to Rs 53.12 crore Q1FY14.
Bajaj Finserv gained 1.3% on BSE after recording 14.55% growth in Q1FY15 consolidated Net at Rs 319.37 crore as
compared to Rs 278.80 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, on standalone basis, company’s Net
fell 28.26% at Rs 7.97crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 11.11 crore for Q1FY14.
The market breadth on the BSE closed in positive. Advancing and declining stocks were 1829 and 1235 respectively,
while 131 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 25561.16, up 11.44 points or 0.04%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low of
25613.03 and 25494.46 respectively. 17 stocks advanced against 13 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty gained 16.05 points or 0.21% to settle at 7640.45. The index touched high and low of 7655.65 and
7612.70 respectively. 33 stocks advanced against 17 declining ones on the index.
S&P BSE Sensex CNX Nifty
The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 9291.69 and gained 1.37% while S&P BSE Small-cap index jumped up by
1.35% to 10193.12.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index increased to 9805.57 (up 0.52%) and CNX 500 index rose to 6179.45 (up 0.51%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 1.63% at 14.97 from its previous close of 14.73 on Wednesday.

Hindalco Industries Ltd (up 3.91%), Tata Power Company Ltd (up 3.53%), Tata Steel Ltd (up 2.99%), Coal India Ltd
(up 2.86%) and NTPC Ltd (up 2.63%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (down 3.18%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 2.27%), GAIL (India) Ltd (down 0.91%), Maruti Suzuki
India Ltd (down 0.87%) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (down 0.84%) were the top losers on the Sensex.
Benchmark Drivers
Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (-20.58 points), ICICI Bank (-13.76 points), Reliance Industries Ltd (-13.70 points), Tata
Consultancy Services Ltd (-13.68 points) and Tata Steel Ltd (12.67 points) were the major Sensex drivers today.
On the other end Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (-5.17 points), Reliance Industries Ltd (-3.71 points), Kotak Mahindra
Bank Ltd (3.67 points), ICICI Bank (-3.44 points) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (-3.39 points) were the major Nifty
movers today.
Pivot, Supports and Resistance Levels
CNX Nifty is now pivoted at 7636 for next session. The next support is at 7617 and on upside it has a resistance at
7660 levels.
