Content discovery used to mean sitting in front of a grid epg and surfing channels, and before that doing the equivalent with a magazine looking to see what is available. Today recommendations are key for TV service providers to get the consumers attention.
Recommendations come from many different sources, advertising, analytics, social.
Thought: perhaps with speed with which new TV services / [rograms can come an go, and the speed at which they can be made available as catch-up that the value of recommendation that gets consumers to view content at the first showing will become facially important?
