2. Examples in the Media Industry
There are many examples of continuity in the Media industry, specifically with
films. For example, Deadpool to hype up the release of their film last year,
released several posters, all running along the same lines. It shows the character
(Deadpool) doing different poses with different captions. This is a popular route
taken by marketing teams for big films as people have more choice to share on
their social media etc. I would do this for my film also, selecting 2 - 3 images to
use as posters, but keeping the text in the same position.
3. Examples (cont.)
Last year I looked into Game of Thrones and the different ways that they use
continuity in their advertising to promote their show to the maximum.
I highlighted the different creative articles and stunts they created as well as the
games and merchandise they sold. From $10 Tshirts to $10,000 Thrones-themed
watches, they cover all price ranges.
4. My Release Schedule
If I was releasing these products to the wide world I would follow the following
schedule.
Firstly I would create several film posters, the first being released roughly 9
months before the film release. I would also make at least one teaser trailer to be
released 1-2 months before the film.
Coupled with this I would be regularly posting pictures and articles on the social
media pages such as Facebook and Twitter.
