Word offers several different ways to view a document, locate text or objects quickly, and
manipulate Windows. Word provides options to change a documents onscreen appearance by
viewing the document in full screen, web layout, outline, and draft views.

Cliking the open command in the file tab produces the open dialog box. For the purpose of these
excercises, the instructions assume that all data files are stored on your USB flashdrive.

        Changing Document Views

The view tab on the ribbon has groups of commands for document views, show, zoom, window,
and macros.

Word has 5 document view options:

  Print layout
  Full screen reading
  Web layout
  Outline draft
        Using show commands

The show command group offers options for displaying various onscreen features that can help
you create, edit, and navigate your document. The navigation pane appears in the left side of the
window when you select its command in the show group.

        Using zoom

The zoom group of commands lets you zoom in to get a closer view of a page or zoom out to see
more of the document at a smaller size. Withing in the zoom group, the page width button
expands your document to fit the width of the window.

Using the mouse and scroll bar to navigate

Using the mouse in combination with the scroll bar is a simple way to scroll throught a document.

The arrow keys and other keyboard commands can also help you move through a document.
Searching withing a document

Words find commands is now located in the navigation pane in the show group on the view tab, as
well as on the home tab in the editing group.

Using the go to command to navigate a long document

Is a longer document, you may need to move through the document more quickly than this is
possible by scrolling. The go to command and select browse object button provide ways to
navigate through longer documents quickly.

        Selecting, replacing, and deleting text

You can delete text in word documents by pressing the backspace key to delete characters to the
left of the insertion point, pressing the delete key to delete chracters to the right of the insertion
point, or selecting text and pressing either the delete key or backspace key. The multisection
