Opening scenes analysis
Fatima Khanum
The girl with the dragon tattoos
The images are very graphical and
there are a lot of layers and changes
throughout the first couple of minutes.
The layers where like different flashes
but really effective as it gives a little
details about the film. The theme of the
music sounds like background theme
music to a chasing game, this is
because the genre was based around
an action film. At the beginning the
music comes in slow and builds up
through out the opening scene. The
camera shots in this particular scene
are like quick flashes of a range of
images and small videos. The opening
scene uses dark dull colours to
represent the film as an actionthriller.
The beginning credits just come by slowly as the main focus was the
video in the background. The images are very rare and unusual and
are effective as it gives you a taste of the film. The images where very
graphical with the people getting tortured however I think it was
very effective how they made everything black as it suggest a little
insight of the dark action film
2. Fast 5
Starts of from a scene in court
where vindiesel gets taken down to
prison for assault. Thecamera shots
where just close up to the character
while the judge spoke over. It
started of with calm sad
background music. Then the scene
changed to the bus where vin diesel
was placed in jail. Then the music
start to build up letting the
audience feels tensed, as something
major is about to take place. The
music choice goes well with the
event that was taken place. The next few parts were a range of shots
as the action starts to build up as other characters start to appear to
undergo the rescue of their friend. The shots are from close up off all
the characters to introduce them into the films so the audience
knows who is involved and who isn’t to make them more interested. I
think there opening scene was really effective as it gives a broad way
of introducing all the characters while they where about t commit a
crime.
