2. Creating a positive school environment
is key for learning and working.
We all might have had different experiences in the school,
some positive and some not so good. It is convenient that all
parties in the school community establish the school rules
together so they all feel comfortable to promote learning.
Some tips to facilitate living together at school are: behave
in a personal and friendly way towards each other, maintain
objectivity, treating every difficult situation with the
affected people, assess the rights of all those involved,
define what happens without preconceptions, set different
causes, plan different solutions specific and measurable.
Rules of living together should be
formulated together, in a positive way
proposing performance standards, not
judgments. To promote a positive learning
climate in school we all have to be engaged
and no person (teacher, student or parent)
should be prejudiced, bullied or excluded.
Active learning and learning communities in the classroom
facilitates students involvement in school tasks and prevents
difficulties in living together.
Designing open and flexible spaces at school also improves
students engagement and reduce discipline problems.
