depend on how you see your role: 1. traditional approach
(teacher is like God); 2. service provider approach (you order, the
teacher serves) or 3. partnership approach based on equality
Communication involves
listening and speaking as
well as reading and writing.
We all need communicate effectively and
assertively with others in order to respect each
other and to reach our communication aims.
Parents and teachers need to be skilled in these
areas to be able to understand each other and
to collaborate effectively for the best of the
children.
Face-to-face communication among
people transfers knowledge, skills, values,
attitudes, emotions, desires,
expectations... both through verbal and
body language.
Research shows that effective
communication between
parents and teachers increases
their motivation to build an
entrusting partnership and also
helps to motivate students to
learn.
