1. Good morning ladies and gentleman, it’s nice to have all of you here.
Nowadays, transportation is very important in daily basis due to the high mobilization especially in big city like
Jakarta. People prefer to use private vehicle from one place to another with the huge of number population this
is affecting to our environment. According to Susilo Dewanto, Division Head of Public Transportation of DKI
local government. 96% of Jakarta residences use private transportation in 2020.
As we know that the level of pollution in Jakarta has been increased for decade to the dangerous level and it’s
our responsibility as the citizen of Jakarta to take action and to participate to overcome this problem.
What we can do to solve this problem?
at this time i’d like to present a topic about the role of public transportation to reduce carbon emission
1. People are encouraged to use public transportation like mrt and transjakarta to reduce the traffic and
carbon emission
2. The local government should improve the quality, coverage, and integration of public transportation
3. More campaign to encourage people to using public transportation using conventional or digital media.
4. Local government employees are forced to use public transportation once a week to trigger society to
also use public transportation

2. So ladies and gentleman regarding the importance of several points I mentioned above to all of you, I would
like to suggest you to use public transportation in Big Cities especially in Jakarta.
I’d like to quote from Anonymous which says that
“A developed country is not a place where the poor have cars, it’s where the rich ride public
transportation”
