very slowly.

3. Dhaka City and Traffic Jam
Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh and 8th largest city in the world.
Population : More than 1.5 core people
Dhaka is also one of the world's most densely populated cites.
This city is facing a severe traffic problem due to rapid growth of city
population and inadequate transportation infrastructure.

4. Current Situation
In this mega city, people on an average spend 2.20 hours in
the traffic of which 1.15 hours are due to traffic jam. It means
they are losing 1.15 hours everyday due to traffic jam.
This year, Dhaka's daily lost working hours on roads
exceeded eight million, a sharp rise from five million in 2017.

Traffic congestion causes a 6 to 10 percent yearly GDP loss, affecting
productivity and people's well-being.
long traffic jams increase health risks, causing mental and physical issues
for commuters.
It harms both human health and worsens environmental pollution, a
significant concern for the country.
Stressful driving conditions result in accidents, affecting passengers and
putting car drivers at risk.
Media reports highlight cases where heavy traffic delays access to
hospitals, leading to unfortunate deaths of patients in urgent need of care.

Construct roads for east-west connectivity in Dhaka
city.
Build a circular embankment-cum-road along the
periphery of Dhaka city.
Implement a grade-separated road network system.
Introduce a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.
Develop a Metro-Rail system.

Share rides with others, especially colleagues or neighbors traveling in
the same direction, to decrease the overall number of vehicles.

Raise awareness in the community about responsible and considerate
driving behaviors.

Traffic jams are a big problem and cause a lot of trouble. To fix this, we
can:
Use more buses and trains
Use smart technology to control traffic
Try different ways of getting around It's important for the
government and people to work together.
Planning cities carefully and using smart solutions together can make
it easier to move around and reduce traffic jams.
