1. Show enjoyment in listening to the story
2. Note details about the story listened to
3. Respond to the story through the following engagement activities:
Team 1 “The Magnificent Little Painters”- Draw Hans’ pot and describe it.
Team 2 “The Actors and Actresses”- Act out some scenes from the story.
Team 3 “The Raters”- Draw a happy face if the word describes a good father
and sad face if not.
Team 4 “The Good Story Teller”- Retell the story “The Pot That Danced”

Today you are going to listen to a nice story and for you to understand
the story better we have to study some words. These words are: couple,
reached, barn and wheat, exchange
Teacher will say the first word .Then ask the pupils to read it by class
then by group lastly by individual
couple (through short story with pictures)
This is Aling Caring and Mang Ando and they are couple. When we say
couple they are two persons or things that are together. Who else do you
know are couple?

Then one day the couple went to the field to work. They reached the
place after an hour. So reached means to arrived at a place. Can anybody
come in front and show me how you can reach a certain place.
barn and wheat ( through pictures)
In the field there is a barn. (Teacher will show a barn) This is building
or place where you can store grains or wheat. Have you seen a barn?
What are other things that can you place there?
exchange (through gesture)
During Christmas the couple buy gifts. They exchange their gifts with
one another. So when we say exchange we give what we have and take
what our partner has. Inside the classroom what are those things that you
can exchange with your classmate or friend?
4. Activating Prior Knowledge
Showing a picture of a pot.
Class, do you have a pot at home.
Have you experienced using it?
When else do we use a pot?
Do you know what made up a pot?
Say: Clay is a kind of soil
5. Motive Question
This time, you are going to listen to a story about a poor man named Hans
who exchanges his cow for a pot.
Why do you think Hans exchange his cow for a pot?
B. During Reading
1. Teacher reads aloud the story and pause for some questions.
a. What is the name of the man in the story?
b. How many children do they have?
c. How about you how many are you in the family?
d. Do you think if you have a big family, you can buy all the things that you
need?
e. Since the man has no money what thing did the man offer Hans in exchange
of his cow?
f. Do you think Hans accept his offer?
g. Why did Hans exchange his cow for a pot?
h. What can we do with wheat?
i. How does the rich man feel when the pot danced away?
j. What did Hans do upon seeing the money in the pot?
k. If you were Hans would you also do the same? Will you also look for the
owner of the money and return it? Why? Why not?
2. Post Reading
1. Where did Hans and his family live?
2. Why did Hans and his wife decide to sell the cow?
3. What are the things that the pot can do?
4. What did the rich man do after receiving his money from Hans?

Act out a scene from the story

How can you describe Hans as a father?
Using Rating Scale: Draw a happy face if the word describes a good father
and sad face if not.

Plot:
1. Presentation/Introduction
Present the following sentence strips taken from the selection.
Hans is a poor man.
The family live in a little hut.
The pot is dirty
The pot danced on its two legs.
I have a yellow pot.
Now, children take a look at the first sentence. ( help them read the sentence)
What word describes the man? (poor)
Now look at this hut? What can you say about the size of the hut? (little)
In the third sentence, what kind of pot is it? ( dirty)
How many legs does the pot have? (two)
What is the color of the pot? (yellow)
Children we call these words as adjectives.
Today, let’s find out what adjective is as we go through our lesson.
2. Teaching /Modeling
Using a chart teacher will discuss further the concepts about adjectives.
Again , let’s go back to the sentences we have a while ago.

Think Aloud: So it means that an adjective describes a noun/pronoun. It tells about
the color, size, shape and kind of an object or person.
3. Guided Practice( Dyad)
Teacher will say some sentences written on strips of cartolina. Have the
pupils choose a partner and let them pick out the adjective and write it on metacard.
Pupils will practice saying the sentence with their partner. Teacher will call on a pair
and have them say the sentence as well as give their answers.
Sentences:
1. I love wearing pink shirt.
2. My friends stand in a blue circle.
3. Father is old.
4. He is hardworking.
5. The table is rectangular.
6. They live in a small house.
7. It is clean and beautiful.
4. Group Practice
Group the pupils into 3 and let them do the activity in their activity sheet.
Group 1 : Look at 2 things inside the room and describe them. Write a sentence
following the pattern.
The ______ is _________ in color and ________ in shape.
Group 2: Look at 2 things inside the room and describe them. Write a sentence
following the pattern.
I saw ________(number) ___________and its size is ____________.
Group 3: Look at 2 things inside the room and describe them. Afterwards write a
sentence following the pattern.
The _________ is ______________( kind)
5. Independent Practice
Seat work 1: Underline the adjective in each sentence.
1. I have a red ribbon.
2. She is a cheerful girl.
3. Teacher had a short hair.
4. There are rectangular tables in the room.
5. Mother bought three apples in the market.
Seat work 2: Write an adjective before each noun

Unlocking of Difficulties Today you are going to listen to a nice story and for you to understand the story better we have to study some words. These words are: couple, reached, barn and wheat, exchange Teacher will say the first word .Then ask the pupils to read it by class then by group lastly by individual
  • 2. couple (through short story with pictures) This is Aling Caring and Mang Ando and they are couple. When we say couple they are two persons or things that are together. Who else do you know are couple? reached ( through gestures) Then one day the couple went to the field to work. They reached the place after an hour. So reached means to arrived at a place. Can anybody come in front and show me how you can reach a certain place. barn and wheat ( through pictures) In the field there is a barn. (Teacher will show a barn) This is building or place where you can store grains or wheat. Have you seen a barn? What are other things that can you place there? exchange (through gesture) During Christmas the couple buy gifts. They exchange their gifts with one another. So when we say exchange we give what we have and take what our partner has. Inside the classroom what are those things that you can exchange with your classmate or friend? 4. Activating Prior Knowledge Showing a picture of a pot. Class, do you have a pot at home. Have you experienced using it? When else do we use a pot? Do you know what made up a pot? Say: Clay is a kind of soil 5. Motive Question This time, you are going to listen to a story about a poor man named Hans who exchanges his cow for a pot. Why do you think Hans exchange his cow for a pot? B. During Reading 1. Teacher reads aloud the story and pause for some questions. a. What is the name of the man in the story? b. How many children do they have? c. How about you how many are you in the family? d. Do you think if you have a big family, you can buy all the things that you need? e. Since the man has no money what thing did the man offer Hans in exchange of his cow? f. Do you think Hans accept his offer? g. Why did Hans exchange his cow for a pot? h. What can we do with wheat?

  • 5. 1. Presentation/Introduction Present the following sentence strips taken from the selection. Hans is a poor man. The family live in a little hut. The pot is dirty The pot danced on its two legs. I have a yellow pot. Now, children take a look at the first sentence. ( help them read the sentence) What word describes the man? (poor) Now look at this hut? What can you say about the size of the hut? (little) In the third sentence, what kind of pot is it? ( dirty) How many legs does the pot have? (two) What is the color of the pot? (yellow) Children we call these words as adjectives. Today, let’s find out what adjective is as we go through our lesson. 2. Teaching /Modeling Using a chart teacher will discuss further the concepts about adjectives. Again , let’s go back to the sentences we have a while ago.   • 6. Think Aloud: So it means that an adjective describes a noun/pronoun. It tells about the color, size, shape and kind of an object or person. 3. Guided Practice( Dyad) Teacher will say some sentences written on strips of cartolina. Have the pupils choose a partner and let them pick out the adjective and write it on metacard. Pupils will practice saying the sentence with their partner. Teacher will call on a pair and have them say the sentence as well as give their answers. Sentences: 1. I love wearing pink shirt. 2.
