Today you are going to listen to a nice story and for you to understand
the story better we have to study some words. These words are: couple,
reached, barn and wheat, exchange
Teacher will say the first word .Then ask the pupils to read it by class
then by group lastly by individual
2. couple (through short story with pictures)
This is Aling Caring and Mang Ando and they are couple. When we say
couple they are two persons or things that are together. Who else do you
know are couple?

Then one day the couple went to the field to work. They reached the
place after an hour. So reached means to arrived at a place. Can anybody
come in front and show me how you can reach a certain place.

In the field there is a barn. (Teacher will show a barn) This is building
or place where you can store grains or wheat. Have you seen a barn?
What are other things that can you place there?

During Christmas the couple buy gifts. They exchange their gifts with
one another. So when we say exchange we give what we have and take
what our partner has. Inside the classroom what are those things that you
can exchange with your classmate or friend?

This time, you are going to listen to a story about a poor man named Hans
who exchanges his cow for a pot.

1. Teacher reads aloud the story and pause for some questions.
a. What is the name of the man in the story?
b. How many children do they have?
c. How about you how many are you in the family?
d. Do you think if you have a big family, you can buy all the things that you
need?
e. Since the man has no money what thing did the man offer Hans in exchange
of his cow?
f. Do you think Hans accept his offer?

Present the following sentence strips taken from the selection.

I have a yellow pot.
Now, children take a look at the first sentence. ( help them read the sentence)
What word describes the man? (poor)
Now look at this hut? What can you say about the size of the hut? (little)
In the third sentence, what kind of pot is it? ( dirty)
How many legs does the pot have? (two)
What is the color of the pot? (yellow)
Children we call these words as adjectives.
Today, let’s find out what adjective is as we go through our lesson.
2. Teaching /Modeling
Using a chart teacher will discuss further the concepts about adjectives.
Again , let’s go back to the sentences we have a while ago.

6. Think Aloud: So it means that an adjective describes a noun/pronoun. It tells about
the color, size, shape and kind of an object or person.
3. Guided Practice( Dyad)
Teacher will say some sentences written on strips of cartolina. Have the
pupils choose a partner and let them pick out the adjective and write it on metacard.
Pupils will practice saying the sentence with their partner. Teacher will call on a pair
and have them say the sentence as well as give their answers.
