2. Ecology is the scientific analysis and study of interactions
among organisms and their environment. It is an field that
includes biology, geography, and Earth science. Ecology
includes the study of interactions that organisms have with
each other, other organisms, and with components of their
environment. Topics of interest to ecologists include the
diversity, distribution, amount (biomass), and number
(population) of particular organisms, as well as cooperation
and competition between organisms, both within and among
ecosystems.
4. Ecological rules
1. Save electricity!
2. Save water!
3. Sort waste!
4. Take care of air cleanliness!
5. Use ecological bags!
6. Buy environmentally friendly products!
5. Threats caused by human activity:
a) Air pollution (combustion of fuels, compounds of sulfur and phosphorus, toxic
dusts, heavy metals)
b) The greenhouse effect (climate warming, tropical storms, rising groundwater) c) The
ozone hole (emission of freons, eye diseases, UV radiation)
d) Acid rain (sulfur compounds, soil acidification)
e) Water pollution (industrial sewage, communal sewage)
f) Soil degradation (deforestation, excessive fertilizer use)
g) Radiation hazards (nuclear energy, mobile phones, various antennas)
