National Football League Vs National Basketball Association
1. National Football League Vs National Basketball Association
The National Football League and the National Basketball Association are very alike but different in
their own ways. Although both the leagues have contracts, a salary cap, and revenue sharing they
are both very different. Both leagues have a championship game game where they score high ratings
because of their high market players. Curry and Lebron playing against each other in the NBA finals
last year generated ratings up to 19.94 million viewers the most all time other than the 1998 Jordan's
Bulls finals. Brady and Wilson playing against each other in the super bowl generated ratings up to
112 million dollars the most all time. This shows the both sports are big but are different. While
both are wildly successful major sports leagues, they are very different when it comes to player
contracts, revenue sharing, and the salary cap. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The NFL handles its contracts based on the team. They offer larger contracts ut end up not paying
all the money to the player. The NFL only pays players what they have earned. If a player is offer
100 million dollars to play for a team, and the player only plays for 2 years, the player would only
receive 44 million dollars. The NBA guarantees all the money in the contract. NBA players tend to
have longer careers and less injuries than NFL players so teams are willing to offer guaranteed
contracts to their players. NBA teams don't offer the same amount of money to its players but end
up paying around the same amount of money has NFL teams do with guaranteed contracts. NBA

2. The National Football League
The National Football League is known for its prominence, dominance and thrilling seasons that
play a role in the lives of so many. From the summer months of the pre–season to the Super Bowl in
February, American football dominates the sports scene. However, college football and the draft are
both equally important factors for the NFL to live up to the expectations of the fans. Both the draft
and division one football are streamed on television so that each fan can tune in and see who will be
the next member of their beloved NFL team. For many across the United States, the Dallas
Cowboys, also known as America's team is that cherished team. However, the Dallas Cowboys have

to assist in the draft selection process, my first suggestion would be no more wild–cards. Through
my quantitative analysis proposal, I hope to ensure that the Dallas Cowboys receive defensive
players that can play and contribute to the beginning success of revitalized team. My proposal
would look at filling the two gaps left by the exits of the cornerbacks and strong safety. The Dallas
Cowboys need players who can perform at the level of the top players in those specific positions to
ensure that success for the team comes early. My proposal would look at three different sets of
statistics to ensure a positive draft pick. First, I would analyze the other thirty one teams within the
National Football League, and deduct based off of the statistics of the cornerback and strong safety
position who is regarded as the top players in that specific position. The Strong Safety is "usually,
well, strong, and fast. They are usually responsible for covering TEs, RBs, and WRs and playing
down the field, but are often expected to come up in run support." While the cornerbacks "try to

3. Personal Conduct In The NFL, National Football League
Not Me Personal conduct in the NFL, National Football League, is an issue that is starting to spiral
out of control. Late September, 2014, "the league [had] suspended at least 20 players for actions
including assault, substance abuse and use of performance–enhancing drugs" (White); this was only
a few weeks into the regular season of play for the league. The NFL has grown enormously since it
was founded on August 20, 1920 in Canton, Ohio. But, this league has become more and more
lenient with its players and personnel. Many professional athletes in the NFL receive special
treatment regardless of their improper actions, thus allowing them to elude the consequences and in
turn setting a misleading example for their young fans. In order ... Show more content on

The players and teams receive too much leeway when they are involved with crimes or
misconducts. They have a "distorted view of themselves" (White) which induces them to "overvalue
their abilities and are proud and condescending when relating to others" (White). The league is
responsible for investigating and taking action against the players and teams that do not follow the
NFL Personal Conduct Policy which the league describes as avoiding "conduct detrimental to the
integrity of and public confidence in the National Football League" (ESPN). This is required to be
accepted by all workers in the NFL: players, general managers, coaches, owners, sideline/team
employees, and even game officials. Roger Goodell, because of his title and job description, is
delegated to be the "the judge and the jury in individual cases" (Pease). This responsibility he has is
not a wise way of handling cases because there needs to be some sort of committee involved in
order to give a thorough, well balanced, opinion and

4. David Mancina's Lawsuit Against The National Football League
On October 15, 2012, a fan of the New Orleans Saints, David Mancina filed a lawsuit against the
National Football League (NFL) and its commissioner Roger Goodell. Mr. Mancina's complaint was
framed as a class action lawsuit representing all season and single ticket holders for the Saints
games during the 2012–2013 season. The basis of his lawsuit stems from the NFL's punishment to
the Saints organization in connection with the bounty scandal. On March 21, 2012, following an
investigation, the NFL imposed a punishment against the Saints, with the head coach, assistant
coach, general manager, and several players being suspended. Additionally, the team was required to
forfeit its second round of draft choices in 2012 and 2013. First, it is ridiculous for David Mancina
to try and sue the NFL and the commissioner for rightfully punishing a team in their opinion. Mr.
Mancina has no rights to say what is right or wrong for the NFL or commissioner to do especially
since he does not hold a leadership role such as a stakeholder, coach, general manager, etc. with the
Saints of even in the NFL. Who is he to say that the league does not have sufficient evidence to
warrant the suspensions? That is kind of ridiculous to say in my opinion. This is kind of the risk you

5. Manchester's United Of The Football League
Prior to the arrival of Matt Busby, Manchester's United's chapter in the history of English football
begins with the founding of Newton–Heath LYR [Lancashire–Yorkshire Railway] Football Club in
1878 (Manchester United F.C., §1878–1909). Football was the most popular sport in the nearby
counties of Lancashire and Yorkshire in the mid–1800s, and it enjoyed popularity in Manchester as
well (Harvey, 57, 67). One historian attributes part of its success to the abundance of playing space
and events sanctioned by local business owners seeking to increase revenue (Harvey, 67). Newton
Health LYR joined the Football League in 1892, and was rechristened Manchester United after an
early infusion of funding. After moderate success through 1920 that prompted the construction of
and relocation to Old Trafford, the club entered a period of stagnation and decline, characterized by
relatively poor performance and plagued by financial difficulties. This floundering was exacerbated
by public perception of association football as an undignified, inferior sport. Academic institutions,
swayed by the "patriotic" qualities of toughness and leadership emphasized by rugby and perceived
to be absent in football, opted to field rugby teams (Taylor, 122). Numerous scandals further
tarnished association football's reputation, the most notable of which involved Manchester United
and Liverpool F.C. Players from both sides, after arranging bets on the match outcome, ensured a

Since 1920, the year the National Football League was founded, multiple issues have come up
regarding bargaining and anti–trust law. The National Football League Players Association, also
known as the NFLPA, the labor organization representing the individual players, was founded in
1956. Its main goal was, and still is, to get the best bargaining agreement for the players, making
sure all the needs and interests have been met. However, the job of those working at the National
Football League Players Association does not end once leaving the collective bargaining table.

The National Football League has a Commissioner, who is supposed to be the voice for the owners,

Ezekiel Elliot and their domestic violence scandals, as well as the New England Patriots and the
"Deflategate" incident. On the opposite end of the spectrum lies the executive director for the
National Football League Players Association, DeMaurice Smith. For a long time, however, Gene

9. The Challenge Of The Australian Football League
Introduction
The Australian Football is one of the most popular sports among the people of Australia. Even the
people who do not play football know about the Australian Football League (AFL) which is the
governing body of football in Australia. Majority of the people of Australia are big diehard fans of
the league and the respective teams they support. Because of its popularity the Australian Football
League faces tough competition from other sports in Australia. Other popular sports include soccer,
national rugby league. The AFL takes every possible step to cater its audience and make their
experience with AFL a memorable one. It does research and provides them with best outcomes. In
turn these steps provide them with greater understanding and help them build long term
relationships with the audience. All of this creates greater awareness of the sport and generates
revenue for AFL.
Background of the Research
Most of the professional sports teams join together to form different leagues in their respective
countries. The intention behind this formation of leagues is to target fans and spectators through a
media channel. The whole consumer market is made up of four groups. At first there are the fans
and supporters who provide support by attending the league matches or by following them through
media. Then there are companies who buy the rights to broadcast the matches. Thirdly there are
communities who facilitate in building clubs with their support and at last there are

10. The Governing Body And League Format For American Football
The NFL, the governing body and league format for American football is the largest grossing
sporting league in the world. The sport symbolises and embodies American culture as it is fast
paced, dazzling razzmatazz of a show brought to a conclusion every year by the greatest show on
earth, the Super Bowl. The themes explored are going to be America's issue with race, how the sport
has evolved with TV and commercialism linking the sport to capitalism and the free market. And
just like the opening a theme will be size, how large everything is about the sport and the country
and how it is associated with the US. According to the Harris poll of 2015 35% of Americans say
the NFL is their favourite sport, this has been the case since 1985. Baseball referred to as 'America's
game' came in being in second despite the NFL being two and half times more popular, showing that
'America's game' is an incorrect reference as it does not reflect American society. Therefore it is no
surprise that the NFL has significant cultural status within American society and history. The US is a
symbol of the modern world, the new world order and football has grown and been shaped as a
result of this. As a society the US is built on immigration, people leaving squalor in Europe where
social mobility was next to impossible due to the ingrained social hierarchies, or merely to seek
more riches in a new land. As a result this was seen as a fresh start where people would earn and

11. The National Football League : An Mixed Market Strategy
The National Football League has an mixed market strategy because the NFL wants to attract the
most fans and viewers to watch our sporting events from all geographic, sociodemographic and
behavioral characteristics but each are targeted in different ways. The members for each market are
homogeneous with respect to geographic since a member of a market can watch his or her favorite
team anywhere online or television broadcast. There are numerous teams that are located across the
United States so members of the target group can attend games anywhere. As for the
sociodemographic aspect, the market is heterogeneous since the National Football League mass
markets to all ages, ethnic backgrounds, gender, and lifecycles. The NFL does not target just one
market alone, but run a campaign to attract more members to that sociodemographic based on
reports gathered. The behavioral characteristics of the members of each of the markets are collected
and analyzed to best create a market strategy at the time. The NFL as of now is geographically
dominated by the United States meaning most of their viewers are from the United States. However,
the NFL is looking to begin targeting all around the world. The NFL already has three games a year
being played in London and in the upcoming years the NFL will look to play games in Mexico and
China. As of now, the NFL only trails the National Basketball Association (NBA) and U.K soccer
leagues when trying to attract fans outside of its' home markets.

In the year 2013, during the National Football League's preseason and regular–season practices and
games there were a combined total of 228 diagnosed concussions (NFL Concussions Fast Facts).
Any NFL team in a given season plays 16 brutal games, taking vicious hits at practically every snap
of the ball, which does not include the four to six days of vigorous practicing that they have every
week. In many cases concussions in the NFL cause serious long–term health issues as well as death,
via concussions, which is why all precautions such as; well trained medical personnel at each event,

15. The National Football League : An Overview
Daniel Ryan Professor Samanta Eco 231–01 May 3rd 2016 The National Football League has
turned what was once seen as a sport for savages into a cornerstone of American culture. The
increase of popularity of football has turned the NFL into a money making machine the NFL 's
finances are unmatched. According to Forbes magazine in an article analyzing the most valuable
sports teams of the world, "The NFL landed the most teams in the top 50 with 20 franchises"
(Badenhausen, "The World 's 50 Most Valuable Sports Teams 2015"). The following statistics will
be used to determine what causes the value of NFL franchises. There are many factors that can
influence the value of an NFL franchise however I have narrowed it down to variables that I believe
directly affect the value of an NFL team. Using a sample of the 32 NFL teams and their current
values as of the 2015 fiscal year as data points for this study. The variables that I have considered to
test their significance are: The 2015 revenue earned of each team The stadium capacity of each team
The amount of wins in the 2015 season for each team The number of Super Bowl victories since
1967 The 2014 estimated population of the cities in which an NFL team plays The thought process
behind choosing each variable is as follows. The 2015 revenue earned by each team should have a

16. The National Football League on Legal Hits
The national football league has stiffened its policy on legal hits. The hit zone has shrunk, while
player frustrations have grown. The policy is enacted in an effort to reduce the number of
concussions in the game of football. The enforcement of these rules has strayed away from being all
about safety. The policy on hits has created a divide among its players and fans alike. The policy of
hits being enforced so strictly has had a significant impact on the sport. The sociology of the NFL
and the rule itself drive this argument. By stepping on the field as an NFL football player, it is
accepted that it is very dangerous. The players make enough money to make the concussions worth
it. Profiting from the fine money for these hits has caused the NFL to be enforcing these rules
unethically, the rules and the impact they have had on the sport have been detrimental to football.
The NFL has created a new acceptable hit zone which is very small. Limiting a players area to
deliver a hit has created a difficulty for them. Players have had to completely adjust their approach
to tackling. Players are becoming very frustrated with the new rules, for example Pittsburgh Steelers
player Ryan Clark states "...give a guy who is 200 pounds, like myself, a 2–foot area to stop a guy
who is 240 or 250 running at full speed. They might as well just take us off the field..." (Patra 1).

18. American Needle vs. The National Football League Properties
The teams of the NFL established the NFLP or National Football League Properties to "develop,
license, and market" the teams' intellectual property in 1963. The organization allowed a certain
amount of nonexclusive licenses to a variety of licensees. American Needle was one of the
licensees. They made a variety of headwear that displayed the various NFL team logos. The
licensing agreement lasted until 2000. The NFL teams sanctioned the NFLP to give Reebok an
exclusive license for headwear. With this decision, the NFLP did not renew American Needle's
license or the licenses of any other headwear vendors.
American Needle Inc. filed a suit in an Illinois district court against the NFL, NFLP, NFL teams,
and Reebok, claiming that this exclusive license agreement violated Section 1 of the Sherman Act,
15 § U.S.C. 1, which outlaws any "contract, combination . . . or conspiracy, in restraint of trade."
American Needle argued that because individual teams separately own their team logos and
trademarks, their collective agreement to authorize NFLP to award the exclusive headwear license
to Reebok, was a conspiracy to restrict other vendors' ability to obtain licenses for the teams'
intellectual property.
The respondents, NFL, moved for a motion of summary judgment on the Section 1 claim, arguing it
was immune from antitrust liability as a single entity. In response, American Needle sought a
continuance and asked the U.S. District Court to allow discovery, a motion opposed by the

19. Social Construction Theory Of The National Football League
Recently, an increasing number of African American football players have been leaving their
respective colleges with years of eligibility left, to pursue a dream of playing in the National
Football League. This year alone, 101 athletes will be forgoing their remaining years of college
eligibility to enter the NFL draft. Thus representing a staggering increase from the 40 early entrants
in 2007 (Heitner). This decision seems deceptive, in that it appears explicitly based on utility
maximization and the traditional economic theory of Becker and Stigler. That model does provide
an adequate explanation based on set universal preferences with efficiency determining the price of
commodities. However, I believe that it is more accurately modeled as a function of a socially
constructed framework of choice. Berger and Luckmann's social construction theory presents the
opportunity to understand more fully the background of these athletes that shapes their decision–
making process. In my analysis, utility maximization is embedded within this social construction
framework. Given this, not only can we understand the conventional economic reasons for this
decision, but also the socialization that shaped the individuals to that point. I will demonstrate that
the choices of these athletes can be analyzed by taking into account how each person's preferences
and efficiency is molded by their socialization. To prove the value of my approach, I examine cases
chronologically, delving into the

20. The National Football League And Its Effect On Society
The National Football League was created in September, 1920 and has since influenced America not
only economically but personally as the sport's dangers are slowly unmasked. The National Football
League has been covering up the corruption that has been going on for many decades and as people
begin to dig, many hidden truths are beginning to be uncovered. When people think about the NFL,
they are reminded of the sport that many have loved so much but little does our society realize the
major economic effects that the NFL has on America. Not all of us realize how much of our tax
dollars go towards new football stadiums, the massive parking lots used for games, and the football
players themselves. The National Football League claims to be nonprofit, yet it is clear that it is far
from that. In addition to the economic effects, it also has a more personal impact on our lives as
more research is showing the health hazards of playing football. The multiple head traumas that
football players get leads to chronic conditions such as CTE, a newer diagnosis, which causes many
players to experience symptoms such as brain deterioration, suicidal thoughts and ultimately death.
Many parents put their kids in a football league starting at a very young age but are unaware of the
dangers they are exposing their children to.There have been several cases of sudden deaths from
young players including Andre Jackson, a football player from Ohio High School who died

conflict they're having is making people not want to watch. The football players exercising their

Also, Colin Kaepernick is protected under federal labor laws. To be protected under federal labor
law, an employee's action must be conducted in concert with co–workers. It must address an issue of
relevance to their job, and it must be carried out using appropriate means. Workers can't, say,
damage property or threaten violence. If the workers have a collective bargaining agreement with
their employer that forbids certain actions like striking they can't do that, either.
These recent protests are believed to be protected and meet all three conditions to be protected. As a
result of this the teams or players are not discipline for this even though now Colin Kaepernick is
unemployed and no NFL team wants him. They claim that it is because he is not good enough of a
quarterback but it was because of his protesting. He may have been protected but the national
football league owners found a way around it in firing him. This happens to employees too that are
not in professional teams when they are protesting against injustices but are fired anyway because
owners find another way to fire them.
After all this came to be, other players started doing this the season after and this is where the
problem arises. The national football league is splitting their fans in two thus having their rating

paying federal taxes. The legislation puts the NFL as a non–profit trade association which it has
been under since 1942. This statement intends me to ask what Steve Almond asked in his book
"Against Football: One Fan 's Reluctant Manifesto" how did this happen (Almond pg.81)? Imagine
driving through a city. The things you see around you are: average constructed schools, average
constructed houses, bumpy roads, and very old structured buildings. Oh but wait, in the middle of
the city you see a huge modern electrical sign on top of a huge modern structure saying "The Coca
Cola Arena". At this minute you may ask, how can a very average sized constructed town have one
the most fascinating buildings in the world? This to me is very controversial and leads me to agree
with Steve Almonds claim that the NFL is an ideal model of crony capitalism and a corporate
oligarchy. let's try to answer the question why the heck the NFL is tax exempt. Business leagues,

23. National Football League: A Case Study
When the NFL (National Football League) was founded in 1920 by Walter Flanigan and other
colleagues in Canton Ohio, the league was an instant success. Some people think that the league
should have more limitations so that the players don't get hurt as much and that the players need to
be more cautious when tackling (No targeting). Despite the regulations that state that the players
cannot have head to head contact it still happens and the NFL says that they aren't liable for injuries.
The league should be liable for these concussions or other injuries sustained during playing time
because of the rules that are against the targeting any other players helmets or knees. Players that are
backups don't make even half the money that a starter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is very true, the players may have enough to pay for their injuries, but they also have earned
that money by playing as hard as they can and when backups are only making a little above the
median wage in the U.S. and they can't afford these huge payments for concussions. The NFL last
year made over $10 billion, and that leaves no excuse for the league not to pay for any concussions
sustained by over 5,000 retired players who need financial help and the over 1,000 concussions in
the past four years alone. The NFL should also reinvest the families of the over 30 players who have
died from concussions. The league is now responsible for those players who enter assisted living at
63 instead of 83 and will help provide mental, physical, and emotional care through the monies
award to the retired players and their families which is a start, but is not enough to repay the
hundreds of others who weren't warned about the long term effects. The NFL should now be
responsible for providing "separate relief for medical monitoring, as well as compensation and
financial recovery for the long–term/chronic injuries, financial losses, expenses, and intangible
losses" (Easterling v. National Football League, 2011, p. 1). "If the NFL for any reason failed to

24. The Performance Of Premier League Football Teams
Is there any correlation between changing managers and football clubs' results? Managers often find
themselves being sacked and replaced, sometimes only lasting a matter of days before having to
move on. In this essay I will be investigating the performance of Premier League football teams,
both with a change of manager and without, to see if there is evidence of a correlation between the
changing managers and the results of football clubs. A look at the data from the past three seasons
shows that "Manchester City" was consistently ranked in the top three on the league table. In earlier
years though, they were not as successful. For example, in 2009, they came 10th. Upon changing
manager, in 2010 they climbed 5 places, making it to 2nd by 2013. Finally, when Manuel Pellegrini
took over for the 2013/2014, they made it to 1st place. For this team, it can be assumed that a
change in manager led to better results. Another strong team according to data is "Chelsea". In 2013,
when Rafael Benitez was manager, they finished in 3rd place. They then changed manager, to José
Mourinho, finishing 2nd in 2014, and 1st in 2015. These teams show evidence that a change in
manager was beneficial, as they showed improvement when this occurred. "Southampton" also
appears to prove correlation between a change in management and the team's outcomes. In 2012,
with Nigel Adkins, they placed 14th at the end of the season. When Mauricio Pochettino came into
control in 2013, they jumped up to 8th in

The National Football League is the most popular sport in America. The NFL is the most lucrative
sports business in the world by generating 9 billion dollars a year. For whatever reason peoples eyes
are glued to the television every Sunday, whether it be to root on their hometown team or to follow
their fantasy football team. The league has been under fire for the safety of the players for a very
long time, but more so in the last couple of years. The biggest part of the scrutiny is that repeated
head trauma can cause long–term brain damage. The rules must change in the game of football
because it has become too dangerous and creates a long–term threat to players. Equipment has

a helmet hit from the current player Holati Ngata unleashes 1700 pounds of force.
The National Football League is constantly working on making the game safer. There needs to be a
waiver in the contract of the players that prevents them suing the league for any post career health
issues. If the players were not part of the National Football League Players Association, a labor
union for the players, the waiver would already be in place. The players union says that it would be
against the collective bargaining agreement for the NFL to come up with such waiver (cite.) The
waiver probably stems from the lawsuits against the NFL by former players. The number of suits
continues to grow with the largest one being nearly 800 million dollars. The former players accused
the league of hiding the long–term effects of concussions and rushing players back onto the field,
while profiting from the games violence. There have been multiple players who have been on the
NFL's side and said that they would be willing to sign a waiver saying that they would not sue the
league if any post football health issues occurred.
There have been much needed changes on the field to change the safety of the game. The changes
have drawn a lot of criticism. A friend of mine refers to it as the "No Fun League" instead of the

Introduction The National Football League (NFL) has experienced various public relations crises
over the past year. Ranging from domestic violence cases to disputes over game regulations and
officiating, the NFL has dealt with many issues in a less than graceful manner. Scrutiny from the
general public, sports analysts, and those within the organization has only compounded the NFL's
existing problems. Commissioner Roger Goodell, though he has attempted to remedy these
situations and restore the NFL's image, has largely mishandled the recovery processes of each issue.

Footage was later released by TMZ of Rice half–dragging, half–lifting Palmer's body from the

assault and entering a pre–trial anger management program in May, Ray and his now wife Janay
Rice hold a news conference during which they apologize for their equal roles in the incident. By
this time, the NFL had still not gotten involved in the case, and when Rice finally meets with
Commissioner Goodell, the final punishment comes as a mere two–game suspension. With the story
thought to be over, more footage of Rice visibly striking his wife in the face and knocking her
unconscious surfaces, thanks again to TMZ. This sparks another round of events in the case, with
Rice abruptly being released by the Baltimore Ravens and indefinitely suspended from the NFL in
September. Rice enters the appeal process against his suspension, the major point being that he fully
disclosed the nature and order of events to Goodell and other important parties. His appeal lasts into
late November, when he is reinstated into the NFL and made able to join another team.

for the increase in occurrence of concussions in the National Football League. A concussion is
defined as "a type of traumatic brain injury caused by a blow to the head" ("NFL Concussions").
The debate on who is truly responsible for the injury's increasing presence in the NFL continues to
be disputed in the league today. Whether the blame is to be placed on the administrative personnel
of the league or the players and their actions, change is the one common denominator in the stances

The fact that a use of a more efficient test for diagnoses of the injury has not been implemented into
the league's concussion protocol provides support for this argument. Improper education of the true
amount of risk involved that will affect a player in the long–term displays the carelessness of the
league's front office. Almost every athlete that remains connected to the NFL has a family that relies
on them for income and support. By discerning the safety of its very own employees, of which the
league would cease to exist without, the NFL is putting the lives and welfare of the players and their
families at risk. Money must become a secondary concern when one is dealing with a person's
safety on the football field. The league cannot continue to put the lives of its employees at risk in
order to avoid money loss. The National Football League is not doing enough to prevent
concussions from continually occurring in the league today and a change in policy is mandatory in
order to provide a safe environment for its players. Nothing matters more than a person's

the NFL draft. A picture on the front depicts Johnny Manziel–who decided to leave Texas A&M
after his redshirt sophomore season. The article states, "Throughout the offices and film rooms of
NFL teams, the whispers are building: This may be the deepest NFL draft ever. It also may be the
one that ruins college football" (Clark, 2014). A modification in the NFL's collective bargaining
agreement with its players, which was signed in 2011, is being accused for a shift so dramatic, some
within the game worry that the talent and recruiting of college football could possibly never be the
same. The point Clark (2014) is trying to get across is that players are rushing to drop out of college
early to start their professional careers. According to the article, in the 2014 NFL draft there were
"98 underclassmen, a 34% increase from 2013 and an 85% increase from 2010, the year before the
latest collective bargaining agreement. The average age of an NFL player last season was 26 years
308 days, the youngest since 1987" (Clark, 2014). Since the late 1980s, players who are three years
