Captain Jaggery If You Will Realize Your Destiny
Charlotte Doyle "If you realize your responsibility you will realize your destiny" – Unknown
Charlotte Doyle was a fine woman. In the story, she was a girl age of 13. She was a proper girl, and
she did not keep to that style. She turned into a deckhand, a part of the crew. Due to her manners,
Captain Jaggery sought out to call her of unnaturalness. She was accused of killing Captain
Jaggery's secondhand mate, Mr. Hollybrass. She was sentenced and accused of unnaturalness,
meaning her manners throughout the journey have been strange and unpredictable. Throughout this
journey, Charlotte showed signs of not unnaturalness, but she was enthusiastic, friendly, and
positive. During the voyage, Charlotte was very enthusiastic. She was enthusiastic from the start, of
course. She couldn't wait to get back. She was waiting for two families, and she was excited for the
three month adventure waiting ahead. Later in the story, she whips Captain Jaggery. She felt really
bad and want Captain Jaggery to forgive her. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the two families not with her, it was hard to keep it that way. After a while though, she realizes
that it would be so bad, and that she was making a few friends. Zachariah liked her, and so did the
captain. She kept positive until the mutiny. A little while after the mutiny Charlotte once again found
hope. She would join the crew. She was positive she could make the crew, but first she had to
believe in herself and climb to the top of the main mast. Physically for her it was hard, but her
mentality believed she could. She was positive from start to finish, and ended after 30 minutes of
hard work. After she became part of the crew, Captain Jaggery decided to drive them into a huge
storm. Charlotte had to be positive through the storm in order to stay alive. Her own mind saved her.
She once was caught in the mast, and had to get out. Her positivity and her strength help her out of
that situation and many

The Importance Of Living In A Small Town
Living in a small town is an enjoyable, yet bittersweet experience. I grew up in Winnemucca, one of
the smallest towns in Northern Nevada. The town is unknown to the majority of people who reside
out of its state. I can certainly say that my hometown has been influential on my upbringing.
However, my family has played and continues to influence me as a person. Though small,
Winnemucca and my family has undoubtedly had a huge impact on my growth and has made me
into the person I am today.
My family is small, yet incredibly loving and caring. Though my parents have struggled and
sacrificed, they have provided many things to my brother and me; they have always supported us.
For me specifically, this includes giving me the gift of having a buoyant childhood. My regular day,
in my childhood and throughout my teen years consisted of math problems, reading, writing, and art
projects, playing games with my brother outside, basketball, hiking, volunteering, and doing
activities typical small town offers. I will forever appreciate the environment I grew up in because it
taught me to appreciate the little things. I craved one thing though: adventure.
I am lucky enough to say I have had adventures with my family before. I have memories of my
family and I going on trips to islands, our ancestral home in India, and other foreign nations/lands.
Still, after all the journeys, I craved more. But as I grew up more, I concluded that if I am with my
family, I will always be happy. They are my

Realize By Calbie Calilat: Song Analysis
Music can play a big role in our lives. It can be remembrance of a special times and times in
hardships. Music can be a language without words because it's so powerful and you can see their
feelings or emotions in that one song. That can be one way of how we can have connection with
another person. It also bring us together like there is a party and everyone just sitting on the couch
but when they start to play music, we grab our friends and we start to dance with new people. Music
is a big part of people. A song call "Realize" by Calbie cailat play a big part of my life. The tempo of

If I could go back in time, I would to go back to that time. It will always be in my heart even if we
are all grew up and not close as we used to be. We got to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2008. We
cannot speak English. It was really hard. The very next day there was a new arrival from Burma just
like us and they stay the same apartment as us. I was so happy because I will have my very first
friend in America and I don't have to be alone. My friend name is Mawi Mawi. She is the second
oldest of her siblings. She know my biggest fear which is Caterpillars. As a very young age I started
cooking for my family because that was just the traditional or cause it was hard in Burma and my
mom need a big help so that she can do garden which is how we make a living.. It was time to cook
one day and it was in spring, caterpillars are everywhere on the trees and on the ground. I got much
more scare when I see then around so I called Mawi Mawi on the phone to wash Gai Choy (Asian

Parents, Teenagers And Educators Often Fail To Realize
Parents, teenagers and educators often fail to realize the potential for problems that alcohol presents
to the immature psyche and body (Kay Healey, 1997). Teenage alcohol mishandle is one of the
significant issues that influence scholarly execution, cause medical issues and is in charge of the
demise of teenage drivers and at some point their travelers. Numerous high school students drink
since they think it is cool and don 't comprehend the threats of drinking alcohol. Alcohol is the world
's third largest risk factor for disease and contributes to 4% of the global burden of disease (Rehm et

Reflective Essay On Community Service
Community service: the 20 hour requirement every incoming freshman dreads. I vividly recall my
mom and I sitting at the kitchen table as she asked me if I wanted to volunteer with my church to
help those affected by the tornado that hit. Knowing I would be stuck in the mud and rain, I
reluctantly agreed, in hopes of getting some of the mandatory hours out of the way.The growth and
maturity I received from this experience was far beyond what I expected. Not only did I begin to
appreciate the little things in my life that I take for granted but the experience sparked my interest in
helping others who have it worse than me. Though one person can not change the world, the impact
they can have on a specific person can be still prevalent and worth the effort. I believe I was able to
make a small impact on the lives of those I helped through my once–dreaded graduation
requirement. As I sat in the backseat, driving through the town hit by the tornado, I looked out my
window and took in the tragedy, covered by debris. We stopped at our first house, dare I even call it
a house in its condition, a family with two young girls. I listened to the homeowner, as I saw the
destruction around me, she spoke of the ignorant storm that placed a lasting halt on her family's
life. The family was out of town for a family member's funeral, a time already filled with despair,
and on top of that pain, they came home to see nothing but remains of their home left. In utter
shock, i rushed to help. Numerous volunteers and I began by putting debris on the side of the road
for pickup, and attempting to rebuild the demolished barn. The two houses to follow were just as
eye–opening, as i met more families whom were so positive, when their entire lives were turned
upside down. As I went through the day and listened to the owners of the houses tell their stories, I
felt a whirlwind of emotion. I wondered how tragedy could hit such great families so hard. I began
to look around me and at the families I just met, the whole town, for that matter, noticing they had
nothing left. I imagined being in their place and could not even comprehend how I would go about
handling it. I looked at my life and realized how materialistic I had become. I was

Insanity in a Sane World
Insanity in a Sane World Holden Caulfield is an insane person in a sane world. What is insanity?
Insanity is when you're in a state of mind that prevents normal perception, behavior or social
interaction. This state is mental illness. Insanity is when you do things in deranged or outrageous
ways that could frighten people, or make people feel uncomfortable when around you. It's when you
do things out of the ordinary; yet feel as if they are ordinary. Insanity could come about when you're
depressed, or after a traumatic event, and sometimes even by keeping all your feelings bottled up
inside of yourself. Sane people are sensible, reliable, well–adjusted and practice sound judgment. It's
behavior that is expected in a society. By these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Antolini was trying to hinder him from going down the wrong path. Holden focuses on the little
details like the gasoline rainbows in the puddles on the street and which suitcase is nicer. He
overlooks the obvious, "big picture" which could better help him adjust and focuses instead on little,
often–insignificant things he can handle. Moreover, Holden only pays attention to the things he's
interested in and doesn't pay attention to the teachers or work given at school. This lack of interest
has caused him to drop out of four schools and, therefore missing out on knowledge necessary for
his well–being and self–discipline. Holden does not like change. Holden needs change, he needs to
grow up. He needs to change his thoughts and behavior. Holden says "Certain things should stay the
way they are, you ought to be able to stick them in one of those big glass cases and just leave them
alone (122)." Finally, Holden's overly judgmental and critical. When he sees someone he
automatically judges the person because they aren't in his perfect fantasy. In the bar he points out the
"flits" (gay people) and, he thinks that his old roommate Dick Slagle has a inferiority complex just
because he didn't put his suitcases on out to show when Holden did. Holden thinks of Mr. Haas (his
"phony" headmaster) as someone "[shakes] hands with them and [gives] them a phony smile (14)."
Holden thinks of Ernie the piano player as someone who has been affected by "phoniness" in order
to attain fame.

My Mother As A Hero
Sitting on my mother's lap has always been the safest place for me. Although she beholds a lovely
image, I imagine her as a fearless warrior ready and armed to attack anyone who dared to touch her
child. I admired my mother's strength as I watched her work for tireless hours, but, furthermore, I
admired her willingness to sacrifice resting time in order to be with my siblings and me. Although
my mother did not have a warrior's armor consisting of a sword and shield, listening to her stories
about Mexico, her love for my father, and their struggle in America, she became that fearless fighter
who protected me and guided me through hardships.
Unlike my mother, I was not fearless. I could not watch horror movies because I would not sleep for
weeks. I could not stand in a pitch black room because I would search frantically for a ray of light.
Many times I would awake terror stricken and call out for my mother, yet due to her night shifts she
would not answer. I would spend entire nights looking at the ceiling, hoping for the sun to rise, and
for my mother to show. These immense fears, which plagued my childhood, have been the ones to
teach me that great courage is needed in life. I would force myself to be brave or to at least act
brave. Not having my mother come to me every time I called for her, made me realize that I cannot
depend on anybody to get me through obstacles, especially, if that obstacle is my own fear.
Going through life I stuck to acting brave.

C Stanley's Portfolio

their different skills and aspirations. Reading through the three portfolios, there are many different
things I liked and I disliked in each of them. J.Johnson portfolio, number 20, wrote her personal/

through the portfolio's it was mentioned a few times about how reflecting on their life was enjoyable
and that it made them realize things about themselves they never had before. It would also be a nice
tool to use when you are feeling down or need a little motivation to see what you have achieved. It
would also be nice to have in the future 10 years to see how far you have come and how much you
have changed. I can't see myself giving away a professional portfolio which is why I would not want
to create one over a personal one. Furthermore, I believe I will find priceless value in making a

My Mother Influenced Me
Out of everyone in my life I feel as if my mother is the person who influences me most. My mother
is someone who is very sweet and would do anything for her kids as well as her family to make sure
they are happy and smiling. As I started to grow up and started to go out and be more independent
that is when I started to realize what an impact my mom has on my life. Growing up my parents
were divorced and my mom was the one who basically raised me on her own. She showed me right
from wrong and guided me and pushed me to do the right things in life and strive for success. As I
grew up my mom was always right by my side and accepted my dreams and wanted me to go out
and pursue every dream I have. And now looking back at everything my mom has taught me I can't
thank her enough! Because without my mom pushing me to succeed, being there for me when times
were tough and being a forgiving person I would not be where I am today.
My mother's name is Heather and she is 38 years old. My mother and I look like sisters. She has
dark brown hair, brown eyes how ever the only difference is she is only five feet tall! I can always
tell when my mom is entering the room by the clucking of her heels. My mom always wears strong
beautiful perfume from Victoria's secret. She has a great sense of fashion and is always dressing to

The Bass And Sheila Mant Summary
Sydni Scherr Due Date: Friday, Sep.23
Journal 1
I have read "The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant" by W.D Wetherell. This story is about a fourteen
year old boy who is trying to impress a seventeen year old girl. In this journal I will be questioning
and evaluating.
G pick Sheila or bass?
Y bass R fish a lot/auto R important–doesn't dump rod R big!!!
Y Sheila R attractive/17 R watches her R willing to hide the most important thing in his life
G I think he will pick the fish because he will realize that he's too young
In this story I wonder if the narrator picks the bass over Sheila. One option is that he will pick the
bass. The narrator fishes a ton because he always practices, For example the story states during the

One way she was self centered is when she was always complaining about something. Weather is
was every last noise or when her feet were hurting from being in the canoe. Second is when they
were in the canoe she never once said thank you. She also was always talking about herself and
what she did, and what she enjoyed. She never asked about him and how he was doing. Last she was
speaking her mind and her opinions before thinking, like she had hatred towards fishing, and that
was the narrator passion. Also when Sheila told the narrator he's funny, odd, different, and dreamy.
Sheila was very big headed in many ways, but there's three main points in this story. First, she was
always having huge parties and she only invited the best group in her grade. Second, she always
wants the best of the best. For an example, she was asking the narrator if they can take her dad's car
to the party and not even appreciating the little things. She danced with the narrator for only a few
songs and then ditched him for Eric Caswell and leaving in his Corvette. Last Shelia never realized
or, even appreciated what the narrator did. Even when she would be at the swim meets the narrator
tried his best to at least get her to notice him and she never took notice. When he tried to make it
romantic to take a canoe ride there she almost seemed ungrateful as she would get settled in not
even looking at him. So all of these things that occurred in the story proves she is self centered and

An Unforgettable Grandma
An Unforgettable Grandma Some people have grandparents, and others don't. I am so incredibly
blessed to have a grandma that is so caring in my life. Unfortunately, I don't get to see this loving
person very often. She lives in Canada alongside the rest of my family. When I lived in Michigan
my parents, brother, and I owned a trailer in Canada that we would go to all the time. In 2012, we
moved to Ohio, so we had to sell the trailer. My grandma comes to visit us around three times a
year, and we go down to see her on some holidays. I have grown to appreciate her more and more. I
hear a lot of people say they love their grandparents, so I ask them, "Why?" I get many responses
like, "They give me the best Christmas presents!" or "They make really good food!" My grandma
does this, too, but there's so much more than that. She teaches me how to speak with love,
encourages me to put in effort, and helps me realize that the little things matter.
"I don't understand why he's being so mean to me. I hate him!" Emma exclaimed. Emma is my
cousin who was once telling my grandma about a person she hates. I was sitting in the kitchen with
them as she told the story. As she went on, her voice got louder, and louder. She finally reached the
pinnacle of her voice, and just broke down. I remember thinking at this moment that if she were
talking to me, I would have no idea how to respond to her. My grandma, however, knew exactly
what to do. She never once raised her voice. She tried to calm

Chapter Two: The Intangible Essential Things
Chapter Two: The Intangible Essential Things
The nature of any human being is developing their own beliefs, values, and attitudes throughout the
series of their lives. Friends, family, the society, and the experiences one goes through all complete
and contribute how that person might view life and how they might value it. Values are what a
person develops and holds on to immense commendations. As a person who is studying and who is
interested in the field of psychology, I study the human brain and behaviors and how some people
behave the way they do or how one might develop their own values and beliefs. The one value I
have developed throughout the course of my life so far is being patient.
Patience was always a forgotten quality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I sat there and immediately smiled as I looked and appreciated the beauty of nature. I came here to
sort out my problems, enjoy my inner peace, and practicing patience. I was getting frustrated from
the stress of school and work. As I sat I brainstormed all my problems and suggested a solution and
plan for each and everyone. I realized my sitting here and taking time to do that required patience.
Patience allows me to open up in the moment and sit with the energy all around. Patience can
recover frustrations one may encounter. According to a study done by Fuller Theological Seminary
professor Sarah A. Schnitker and UC Davis psychology professor Robert Emmons, people with
patience are more likely to experience less depression and negative emotions, perhaps because they
can cope better with upsetting or stressful

The Most Influential Person In My Life, My Nanny
The Most Influential Person in My life, My Nanny
As children grow, they always look up to someone special in their life– someone that they can trust
and is always there for them. This person is someone that they admire and hope to be like someday.
The person that I've described best fits my Nanny. She knows all the right things and is there
whenever I need her. My Nanny is one of the most important people in my life and I'm so esthetic
that I have her. It took me ten years when I was finally old enough to realize what an extraordinary
influence my nanny has been in my life. My Nanny has made very careful and thoughtful decisions
and choices for the way my life turned out. Growing up she was such a huge role model on my life
and shaped it. Since birth, she has been the only consistent person that I have had in my life. Once
my parents were making bad choices and decisions, the Department of Family and Children services
got called due to me missing tons of school, falling behind, and never knowing what I would be
waking up to. My nanny was the one who saved me from being placed in foster care.
My Nanny was there to take and fill both parents absence in my life. My Nanny was there for my all
of my firsts that occurred as an infant. Most of these instances all came to be because of her. I was
never hungry since she always kept me full and when it came time to walk and talk she was there.

On The Rainy River Rhetorical Analysis
Rhetorical Analysis Paper
The relationship you have with others often has a direct effect on the basis of your very own
personal identity. In the essay "On The Rainy River," the author Tim O'Brien tells about his
experiences and how his relationship with a single person had affected his life so dramatically. It is
hard for anyone to rely fully on their own personal experiences when there are so many other people
out there with different experiences of their own. Sometimes it takes the experiences and knowledge
of others to help you learn and build from them to help form your own personal identity. In the
essay, O'Brien speaks about his experiences with a man by the name of Elroy Berdahl, the owner of
the fishing lodges that O'Brien stays on while on how journey to find himself. The experiences
O'Brien has while there helps him to open his mind and realize what his true personal identity was.
It gives you a sense than our own personal identities are built on the relationships we have with
others. There are many influences out there such as our family and friends. Sometimes even groups
of people such as others of our nationality and religion have a space in building our personal
identities.
In the essay O'Brien is faced with a conflict, a moral dilemma. He had to decide whether he was
either going to go to the war and fight or was he going to run away and avoid the draft. The
relationship he had with Berdahl was not of friends or even regular acquaintances. Rather they were
perfect strangers. That goes to show you that anyone can be a major influence on your life. Berdahl
helped to open O'Brien's heart. He realized who he was and where he had come from, his past and
what he has been through. How all the events of the past helped him to become the person he was
right now. How his past helped form his personal identity.
The formation of our own personal identities often begins at birth. As you grow up, your parents are
a major influence on you. They teach you many things and help to shape your personal identity.
They teach you the basics, from knowing right from wrong with your basic moral values. Your
moral values are often built upon the basic morals your parents have and what they have taught you
in return.

In Some Manner, It Would Be Strenuous To Realize All Of
In some manner, it would be strenuous to realize all of the goals, such as removing "distortions to
international trade" and promoting "technological innovation" and "the transfer and dissemination of
technology" in the Preamble and other provisions. To be specific, "technology transfer" was
introduced in article 7 of the TRIPS Agreement. Article 7 stipulates: "protection and enforcement of
intellectual property rights should contribute to the promotion of technological innovation and to the
transfer and dissemination of technology." However, the scope and language of this provision are
quite vague and extensive, whereas many formal or informal institutions, such as pre–grant
disclosure and post–grant licensing contribute more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Except for the machinery industry, there was little difference regarding willingness to transfer
technology in other industries. Policy transparency, quality of human capital, and market size are
very important factors of FDI, while the degree of IPR protection is only one of them. Failure to
work a patent failure to work a patent might be discussed under the context of article 7 of the TRIPS
Agreement, as Professor Gervais indicates. A number of supporters of the local working requirement
argue if the patentee would be entitled to a territorial legal monopoly, she should to contribute to the
development of the industry in that territory as an act of reciprocity. Nonetheless, K. McCabe
explains the reason why defining the working requirement would be a burden for transnational
companies. If comprehensively every country requires local working as one of the requirements for
granting a patent, then exportation to a new foreign market means to establish a manufacturing
facility in the country. Defining local working as a "requirement" therefore constitutes an
unnecessary burden for a foreign patentee to build manufacturing facilities in all the signatories of
TRIPS who have legislation as such. For this reason, the grounds for granting compulsory licenses
should be limited to countries with a lower standard of technology

My Life Has Changed My Outlook On Life
It happened a year ago this past October, and I can still remember every little detail of it. My life
literally got turned upside–down; I was in a car accident. As traumatic as the accident was it
changed my outlook on life in a positive way, however, I wish it did not have to come down to that
in order for me to figure things out. It made me realize how things could change in an instant and
that all those things you never thought could happen to you actually can. But I also realized how
much I love life. Life and all the good and bad things in it are a gift that we should not take for
granted.
It was a typical Saturday night in October, Halloween was just around the corner. Three friends and
I were headed to a corn maze. It was supposed to be a fun night, until we turned onto a dirt road and
in an instant everything changed. The driver hit a washboard patch on the road and lost control of
the car. I felt the car jerk left and right and looked up from the backseat at the driver. Her hands were
tight on the steering wheel turning it left and right trying to regain control of the car. We were
sliding and I felt the car drop off the road. I closed my eyes tight afraid to witness what was about to
happen next.
It is amazing all the things you can see with your eyes closed. We rolled three times and all though it
all happened so fast it seemed like it was never going to end. I felt like a doll being thrown around
with no control over my body. I could only try to process what

Analysis Of Trifles By Susan Glaspell
The time and setting tell a lot about what a story and its underlying meaning can represent to each
character individually and together. In the short play "Trifles" by Susan Glaspell, readers and
viewers are taken back to a period that is a lot different than the current. From the surroundings,
viewpoints of each sex and their assigned roles in the society all gave a greater understanding of
what was portrayed and how it was essentially handled. Trifles started with the Sheriff and his wife
Mrs. Peters, Mr. Hale and Mrs. Hale and the County Attorney entering the home of the deceased Mr.
Wright. From the very beginning, it is easy to depict what the living arrangements are based on how

Hale because he was dead. They found him lying on his bed with a rope around his neck and rushed
to alert the coroner. From there, the play begins to expand beyond the case when the group arrives at
the home searching for clues and indications.
While the men look around for bold indication of why this happened, the women looked around at
the smaller details of the home and tried to relate to the wife. As the men looked around the kitchen
they concluded there was "nothing here but kitchen things". as they went on to search through her
cupboards making remarks about her worrying about her preserves while being held for murder.
They went on to discuss that women are used to worrying about trifles and what we would do
without them. The way the men spoke about women made it clear that they believe that the women
were only good for housework and worrying about the little things such as kitchen work. throughout
the discussion, the two other women huddled closer together as if forming a bond as the men discuss
their daily work as if it is merely little to nothing.
As the men went on to looking upstairs, Mrs. Hale continued her views on the men invasion of Mrs.
Wright home while collecting some clothes for Mrs. Wright who was in holding. As the women
conversed and walked around the house, the women began to connect with each other and with Mrs.
Wright as Mrs. Hale discussed the type of woman she was in the earlier years and how it all changed
after she was married. She

Why I Fail In High School Essay
"It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as
well not have lived at all–in which case, you fail by default." Those words were spoken by J.K
Rowling. That's the thing. We often have this idea in our heads about being perfect all the time, and
without making any mistakes. But the world doesn't work that way. No one grows without making
mistakes here and there. The way we can grow, is by learning from our mistakes. Growing is what
we need to be successful in life. Here we are, 8th grade graduation. We started making mistakes
when we were just little babies. We crawled around on the ground while eating anything we could

We made errors by thinking that we will constantly fail, and then we get too scared to try.
And so do we make mistakes on those life lessons? Yes. Do we learn from them? Yes.
I mean, I could go on and on about every single teacher in our lives that have impacted us, and
helped us learn, but that would take far too long.
The moral of the story is, we learn things that help us become better people. That's called growth.
We've grown. Not just by height, but as a person. We've made mistakes, we've failed, but we got
back up. And everyone around helps us, and made us the people we are today.
J.K Rowling gave us an inspiring quote, but so did Newton D. Baker. He said, "I hope your dreams
take you to the corners of your smiles, to the highest of your hopes, to the windows of your
opportunities, and to the most special places your heart has ever known."
I'd like to end this with a thank you. Thank you parents, staff, and friends, for contributing to our
lives. We are forever

Essay On A New Perspective
"To what degree can the narrator 's choices and actions influence the direction her life will take, it
will depend on the narrator because it will be the choices she will make that will break the pattern
that was started with her." The essay "A New Perspective" is both heartwarming and heart
wrenching, an essay that stands out to me above the rest. This child spends all her time wishing that
she had the family life of the children who surround her. The family dinners, a parent who
participates in volunteer days, a mom waiting at the end of that cold winter day to pick her up from
school, to take her home to a cup of warm hot cocoa. Rather, she has these memories, she feels pain
and "cheated". After all the time that the narrator spent being ... Show more content on

After reviewing this paper multiple times I can't help but feel the torment from both sides and want
to bring them together. As a mother, it disheartens me to picture this child longing the attention and
affection of her mother and to wish for simple things that majority of us deliver to our children,
often without even thinking, whether that is giving hugs, kisses, mending a hurt knee, watching their
sports team, tucking our kids into bed every night or just sitting at the kitchen table watching them
doing their homework. Simple things that this narrator could have only envisioned of. Then there is
the mother's perspective, wanting to cook supper for her family, run your children a bubble bath
before reading bedtime stories, and tucking the children in bed for the evening. Alternatively, having
a million thoughts happening in your head as you lay as still as can be in an oversized bed confined
to your bedroom, heartbroken, trusting your children are ok, safe, feed, and content. All while
knowing they are not and there is nothing you can do about

Descriptive Essay On A Walk In The Park
A Walk in the Park A ways away from a town that I call home, I found a happy place. I often find
myself walking through the park by myself. The beautiful trees, the way the yellow and red leaves
crumple under my feet every step I take. When the flowers bloom and how it's the most spectacular
sight you could ever imagine seeing, all the different colors that appear. When you breathe in and
you get this smell of purity, you feel free and alive. Sometimes I like to sit on the old wooden bench
where the bench frame is a little rusted, and I get rid of my thoughts and my eyes search the sky. In
the winter the icy breeze makes me shiver, and the cold air I take in, is like sitting in front of an air
conditioner and breathing in. Some mornings the sun beams across the sky, which is not quite blue
yet, but the sun has almost fully risen. When the wind blows, it grazes over the blades of grass.
Some days I just stand and take a deep breath in and I can taste the spring. When summer comes
around, and the bees are buzzing, and the hot sun beats on the back of my neck, I lay on the soft
grass and listen, to the birds chirping a beautiful song, and the kids playing in the park. The sky is
the bluest view in sight. Walking through the trail full of mud and leaves always made me think
about my life. It was always there when I needed to walk and get things off my mind. Looking
around watching the leaves fall off tree after tree flying like butterflies, all different colors. When
they stopped, they immediately died and they were not coming back alive again. Piled leaves filled
up under trees and children ran and jumped on them like they were pillows. These trees tripled the
height of humans with numerous branches holding hundreds of leaves. While walking the river
flows and it is such a beautiful view with the sun shining right off of it. The ducks and little birds
chirping and floating through the smooth water puts a joy to my face. I found a rest area with a
bench and by it was a fountain. The ripple of water and the singing that the birds formed made it
peaceful to sit there and study the fountain. Just appreciating the little things in life and realizing
what all I have and have overcome is what the park helps me

Reflection Of A Crucible
A crucible is a situation of severe trial, or in which different elements interact, leading to the
creation of something new. Everyone in their life has experienced or gone through a crucible that
has had a great impact on how they view something. From my perspective I have experienced a
crucible that changed how I viewed the simple things. My crucible was how much my mom did for
me and I never noticed how blessed and thankful I am for her. My mom has so much opacity to the
little things for me that I don't notice but when she doesn't do the little things I notice why she didn't
do it.
The little things my mom did for me was she always calls me right after school and asks me how my
day at school went or how I felt. I always looked forward to when my mom called me. Another little
thing she would do is she ask me if I ever wanted anything for her to buy. I would always crave a
donut or iced coffee or just in general food. I never noticed how no matter what weather it was she
would always ask me if I wanted anything. I would never noticed when I asked for an iced coffee in
the winter she would never complain on how already her hands were freezing and imagine your
hands so cold and carrying ice coffee with snow in your face. I never genuinely appreciated how
mom never complained on how cold she was, and she does all these kinds of things as in of how
much love she has for me. For me the time I finally fully appreciated and recognized the little things

Privilege : At What Point Did I Realize?
Privilege:
At What Point Did I Realize? Privilege is an uncomfortable thing to talk about, plain and simple. No
one seems to think about what privileges they do have without being prompted to do so. Everyone is
focused on the privileges that they do not have because they do not want to claim to have more
privilege than someone else. I do believe that we should focus on what we do have, rather than what
we do not have, and make the world a better place by helping those who do not have the privileges
that we do. In this paper, I will be discussing the first times that I realized that there was race, class,
and gender. Firstly, I realized that there were different races most likely in church at Trinity. From as
far back as I can remember, my church was never that diverse. One time when I was about seven or
eight years old, we were invited to Trinity's church here in Cookeville. I did not think anything
about it until we arrived there. It was the one time I had ever felt like I was the minority. At first I
was kind of nervous because I did not know what they would think of me, being a little white girl.
Would they think that I was different and not like me? Would they say that we did not belong? After
just a brief moment of arriving, I had my answer. They were the most loving people in the whole
world. As soon as we sat down in that church, they came up and hugged us and shook hands with us,
welcoming us to their church. They were all smiling and singing praises to God as

My Art And Art : My Education Of Art
I have never really had any great love for art, but I have never thought it could have any good effect
on me. I've known since I was little that not just the big things in museums that cost around $5000
were art, and that even the little things I would make an arts and crafts in my old school could be
considered art. However, I never imagine myself as an artist of any kind and always considered art
as just something pretty to look at. My education of art isn't really anything impressive, starting at
my first elementary school where I had both art and music in my kindergarten class, though it might
have been first grade I can't quite remember, and I wouldn't have another until my high school years
because it was mandatory. Though I had never really thought about to highly, this paper and the few
classes I've had in fine arts have made me think differently. Architecture and videogames have had a
great impact on my life and have even given me a goal to work after. To start on what I mean,
architecture is something that I have been obsessed with for many years, and perhaps I didn't even
realize it. I have always wanted a grand log cabin house and not just any old house, I want to design
and build it myself. I have never lived in a house I truly liked, in fact none of my known family have
either, except an aunt but I would never live with her. I have always lived in a trailer and although I
love my home that I have lived in for most of my life, is always had problems. Interior

Mrs. Cassie Chappell was the very first person that ever inspired me enough to chase my dreams. As
a young teen with a rough home life, things always seemed to bring me down. Mrs. C realized my
struggle and told me to come to her with anything I ever needed. Her teachings made me see my
strong points and assisted me in working on my weak ones . She encouraged me daily to fight for
what I wanted in life, and to improve on the weakness I had. As history repeated itself I fell time and
time again into a lack of self confidence when I would fail at a task. High fives were her go to gift

As a hopeful student of hers I always asked Mrs. C for help with my music. Of course, she always
helped me, but she never gave the answer to my question. It was a frustrating thing to me for a long
time, but in the end I came to the conclusion that I needed to figure things out on my own. Mrs.
Chappell was always one to help me see the things I was doing well, always. She never once missed
a beat when I accomplished something for the first time in her class. Even when I messed up she
was to come sprinting across the band hall with joy in every stride telling me awesome that was,
when actually I didn't even know she was listening. She gave me confidence in my strengths, and
always followed her compliments up with the things I need to fix next go around. Although she may
not have known it, every word spoken with her gentle, careful tone was taken straight to heart.
Seeing her big smile fill her high cheekbones when she giggled at our well known success was more
of a treat to me than any reward or chair placement I ever received. Her joyous laughter was high
pitched, genuine, and contagious. A laugh could pass through the entire band from just one, small
giggle with a snort she tried so hard to hide.

Argumentative Essay On The Glass Castle
Many people tend to take things for granted. We overlook the things that some people wished they
had so they can live without struggle. It usually just comes so easily for us and we don't realize how
hard other people's lives are. Jeannette Walls knows firsthand what it's like to be without these
modern luxuries. In her memoir, "The Glass Castle" she writes about how she sometimes grew up
without things like a place to live, clothes to wear, food on the table, electricity to power the house
and keep her warm. In her upbringing, her parents never really supplied her with the things she
needs or took very good care of her so she learned how to survive with the little she got. She learns
throughout her life that she should never take anything for granted and to appreciate the good things
in life because she doesn't get most of the essentials that other people have normally. Throughout the
story she always knew to be grateful and value every little thing she got because she didn't get
much.
As a child, Jeannette doesn't realize that she's not actually getting what she should be getting. She
thinks this is how she should be living. Jeannette doesn't understand her parents have been
neglecting her all this time. Jeannette first noticed that some things were a lot nicer than what she
had when she had to be hospitalized because of her fire accident. She was just so amazed about how
neat and organized everything was. For instance, "The hospital was clean and shiny. Everything was

Music A Luxury Of A Survival Tool
Music a Luxury of a Survival tool? Music is a survival tool Have you ever felt so lost before? Have
you ever had to plug your headphones in and just lose yourself in a day dream? Can music change
your perspective on life? Is music a luxury or do we need it to survive? We need music to survive,
our hormonal, depressed teenage years. All teenagers are struggling with trying to figure out who
they are, what they are going to do, and many other things. When people put on their favorite song,
they somehow find the answer to all those questions. They find the helpfulness in letting things go,
and letting new things begin in life. There are three things to prove that music is a survival tool, and
they are, change in mood, relaxation, and new perspective on life. First of all, music can change the
mood of anyone, or anything. The change in mood that music can do is outrageous. There could be
kids having a terrible day, and once they plug their headphones in, their mood has changed from
zero to one hundred in two minutes. Music had the power to change the sadness, depression, and
happiness in all people. To survive in a world that we live in, we have to have the audacity to let
things go. When we make it home, and all we want to do is cry over a bad day, we soon come to
realize that the only thing that can make us feel better it listening to some hard rock music, and
imagining that you're in a boxing ring with your enemy. There are so many moods, that you can go

Essay About Immigrant Experience
There are bombs exploding that sound like drums. Guns shots that sound like the ring of bell and the
screams of the fallen soldier that sound like all hope is gone. Families are being separated and taken
from one another, not knowing if they will ever see them again. They have to move to another
country, and try to adapt to the new language, the new food, the new clothes, and the new people.
While dealing with all that they have to try to be accepted by these new people who don't
understand them and their journey. This is what immigrants have to endure when war has struck
their home. Immigrants face many challenges when they are adjusting to their new life style. One
challenges immigrants face is war memory or their old life memory. Immigrants can be paranoid
and alert. They can hear the little things when its quite because of all the loud noises they heard
before. They also have the little things that make them remember the old life they have lived. "I suck
in breath: a photograph of a papaya tree swaying broad, fanlike leaves in the full sun, showing of a
bundle of fat orange piglets." This quote explains even how hard Ha tries to accept her new life,
there is always a piece of her yearning for past. Immigrants may make new memories in their new

My Favorite Experience Of Living In A Small Town Life?
Small Town Life
I am from a small town named Winner that has roughly 3,500 people in it. We don't have a whole
lot, but it is still a nice place to live. Moving to Aberdeen has been a challenge, but I am slowly
getting the hang of things. Small towns have multiple perks that people from bigger areas do not get
to experience, just like bigger towns have things that small towns do not get to experience. My
favorite thing about living in Winner is having a sense of community. Because we live in a small
town, everybody knows everyone. Sometimes it can be a pain because everyone knows your
business but it does have benefits. If someone has cancer, or a loved one has passed away, or
someone has a house fire, people are always there to help you. Whether it's a benefit, locals sending
you sympathy cards, or people starting a meal chain for you, you can always count on the people
who live in your small town. I have had an amazing group of people who have helped my family in
tough times and it means the world to us. Smaller communities seem to have an unbreakable
backbone of people who will always be there for you in whatever situation you are going through.
Another thing I realized is how great the traffic in Winner is. Obviously, we have our normal lunch
rush, but Aberdeen's traffic has been a different experience. It was quite overwhelming when I first
moved here because things move at such fast pace. People seem to be in such a hurry and I find it

Gender Differences in "Trifles" Essay
"Trifles" by Susan Glaspell is a play that is largely based on stereotypes. The most prevalent one is
the inferiority of women over men, though the play also explores the differences between genders in
general. First of all, Glaspell largely examines the repression of women in the 1900s. Women were
highly looked down upon by men, and were seen mostly as housekeepers and child bearers, and
were definitely not seen as intelligent people. The women in this play prove that the stereotypes
against them are completely wrong. The men in this story are sent out to discover the details of a
murder, while the women come along to gather some things for Mrs. Wright, who was accused of
killing her husband. Throughout the play, the men mock the ... Show more content on

They don't realize that the little things do matter in solving a case like this. By "worrying over
trifles" (655), as Mr. Hale puts it, the women end up finding out a lot more about the murder than
the men do. The gender differences in the play are obvious and important to the story. The men in
this play exhibit some traditional stereotypes of men during the time period, such that they were
aggressive and self–centered. The women seem to be more cautious, intuitive and sensitive. These
traits allow the women to come a lot closer to figuring out the murder than the men do. At one point
in the play the women find a quilt that Mrs. Wright had been working on. Mrs. Hale asks Mrs.
Peters, "I wonder if she was goin' to quilt it or just knot it?" (658). Just then the sheriff comes down
the stairs and once again ridicules the women for worrying about such little things. "They wonder if
she was going to quilt it or just knot it!" (658), he exclaims. This is actually an important piece of
evidence in the story, as the ladies find out later. They realize that she was extremely nervous about
something while she was sewing, because she usually sews "so nice and even" (658), but the piece
she had been working on was "all over the place" (658). Then, while looking around in the kitchen,
and not even trying to find anything out about the murder, the

Speech On Perseverance
There I was, dead–tired on the final play of my football game. As they snapped the ball from the
two–yard line, they ran it to the left. Now, I could have let the situation take over and not make my
tired body make the tackle and let them score the winning touchdown, but instead I persevered in
the face of a tired and stiff body and made the game saving touchdown. If one always keeps on
keeping on, no matter the situation, is perseverance. A person needs to be motivated, have optimism,
and realizing and using the advantages of perseverance to one's advantage if they want to have grit
and perseverance, which is to never quit even with difficulties.
To begin with, to have perseverance, one must always keep going forward, regardless of the
situation. There are many factors in keeping this grit, one of them being to always be motivated. A
quote that explains this is "... we conquer by continuing." (Smith 2017.) This quote helps prove the
idea of motivation by basically saying one cannot fail if they don't stop trying, which is motivation.
If one always keeps trying, they can never fail. More evidence to support this comes from "The
Iceberg Illusion," where it says that you need failure, sacrifice, and disappointment in order to reach
the level of success they want. It takes much motivation to overcome failure, sacrifice, and
disappointment in one's life. This idea of motivation can be related back to me, because I have
needed to stay motivated to keep in shape the

The Little Things
When you're not paying close attention to all of the good things that can happen to you throughout
the day, you don't really notice how many small things there are that can have a positive effect.
Small things on their own aren't much, but when you start to add them up they can become
something huge. For instance, playing fetch with my Labrador Buddy, or giving in to that craving of
chocolate and enjoying every bite are very small things in the grand scheme of things, but take
either out of my life and it would be a tragedy. Every once in a while something happens that is
clearly a big good thing, but they don't happen often enough to really get you through that daily
grind. For instance, my mom recently celebrated her 70th birthday ... Show more content on

These are things that are small on the surface, but if they went away they would be pretty big. If
suddenly you have a health scare and are hanging on to your life, something like having a good meal
would seem pretty huge. If somebody you loved were to die, suddenly those hugs that you used to
share with them every day would linger over you and the lack of their presence would be one of the
saddest things in your life. The small things are really the big things because they reflect what truly
matters to you. I have a very busy life and not everyday do I think about and appreciate having a
simple phone conversation with a friend, getting a much–needed hug from my boyfriend, or even
just spending time with my niece, but these are the things that would feel crippling if they went
away. By doing this experiment I learned that people generally focus too much on the negative
things in the world and end up making themselves feel like victims. And they don't pay enough
attention to the little things in the world that add up to make for a life that's worth living. People
love to recall all of the bad things that happen to them throughout the day, but really things don't
happen to people, things just happen. There are probably an equal amount of good things and bad
things, so the trick to getting through life and making yourself happy is to control how you respond
to the world. If you focus on the bad and

From Light Comes Darkness, And From Darkness Essay
Quote 1
"From Light comes Darkness, and from Darkness.. Light."
–– Warcraft
A. In this quote, it tells us that positive and negative go hand in hand. It tells us that whether there is
too much of something and less of the other or less of something and too much of the other, both
will correlate with each other. As life is a spiral of ups and downs, whether it may be good or bad,
happy or sad, opposites will balance each other, for it is the essence of life.
B. Whenever good things surround me, bad things always come around. The most memorable one
was the time when my brother and I graduated college together (my first course before I ladderized
it). Everyone was happy and everything was going well for the family, then a month after the
graduation, the tides quickly turned around and my mother's sickness got worse, she got admitted to
the ICU in a hospital for a month and a half, everything quickly turned around so fast, financial
shortcomings came and everyone was in a state of panic, shock and fear. Then came the month of
June, my mother got well for a few weeks, sense of relief was felt by everyone. I finally got to
continue my education together with my friends, I thought that everything was turning back to
normal then while I was at school fixing my class schedule, my father called me and.. You already

Honesty In The End
"Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the End." – John Lennon The Quote
above says that everything will be fine at the right time or when someone has been fulfil his goals in
life. Like stories in the books or movies it only end when the character resolve all the problems his
been facing all the time. But when the story add another problem it means that the story is not yet
been done and should be continue until it find its way to be done. It also means like whatever
happens in your life, don't give up until you can reach your goal. Don't stop even you fail after all
it's not yet the end. As we grow older there are lot of things happens in our life, there are lot of
problem that challenge us to see how far can we go, how long can we endure it. In this quote tells us
that no matter what happens we should stand still and continue what we started to do. Sometimes we
fail but it's not mean that we should give up it means that it's not yet the end we should stand up and
continue what should we do until we solve every challenges that comes to our life. "Honesty is a

Don 't Take Anything For Granted
"The more often we see the things around us – even the beautiful and wonderful things – the more
they become invisible to us. That is why we often take for granted the beauty of this world: the
flowers, the trees, the birds, the clouds – even those we love. Because we see things so often, we see
them less and less." – Joseph B. Wirthlin (American businessman) The saying "Don't take anything
for granted" has changed my world completely. This drastic change took place on December 3,
2015. This was one of the most atrocious days I have ever experienced. On December 3, 2015, I lost
one of the most important figures in my entire life, and I feel like I took her for granted. I had just
finished my basketball practice. I was feeling ecstatic because I was making baskets left and right
like Kobe Bryant. My coach even told me that he has never seen me play like that before. Then I
strutted outside and found my father parked outside the school in his large, brown pick–up truck. I
hopped inside and turned my seat heater to high because it was frigid, winter weather outside. My
dad made some casual small talk, then he gave me the news. He stated in a low, dull voice, "Hey
Jack, grandma past away today." The car ride home seemed like it was ten hours long, even though I
lived right around the corner. As soon as we got home, I ran straight up to my room. I couldn't

Essay On How To Break Your Ankle
A human–being, a person, a mortal, an individual really can't appreciate the little things until you
have it all taken away from you. I am saying this as I have experienced it in the past. One of the
worst experiences in my life so far was when I broke my ankle in three different places and
dislocated it all at once. The actual breaking of my ankle and the process of recovery was the long
and painful part, but however, I did learn valuable life lessons to work with for future reference. It
was Christmas time... All you saw we're christmas lights outside and Mariah Carey on the radio
singing "All I want for Christmas is You." December 13th, 2013 was a normal day for many people
except for me, an unfortunate event occurred as I attended my volleyball practice 30 minutes from
home. For about seven months, I faced pain, depression, and challenges that life comes with that I
had no choice but to overcome and be strong throughout. Although, breaking your ankle doesn't
seem like a big deal while looking at life as a whole, it actually refocused my view to the right way
to continue living life. To continue with the story, the night went on. I ended up in the hospital that
night with tears running down my face due to the amount of pain I was in. The last thing I wanted to
think of was that my ankle was broken, but the only news the emergency room gave me was that I
needed to see an Orthopedic ankle specialist immediately due to my injury. I ended up going home
not even being able to shower and falling asleep because of medication the doctors gave me at the
emergency room. The next day came and I woke up to my mom helping me get up to get in the car
to drive 45 minutes from home to attend to an appointment my mom made with an Orthopedic
specialist. Luckily, my mom knew the doctor and he told her to have me come immediately. The
doctor's office was so cold but maybe I was also just so anxious to find out what was wrong with my
ankle. Was my ankle fractured? Or was my ankle broken? I couldn't stop thinking about it. I couldn't
stop thinking about the news I was just about to receive because I knew it was more than just a
fracture. I wish it was all just a dream but it came to turn out that my ankle was more than just

Effects Of A Bad Day Essay
Growing up everyone has their own experiences. These range from having your first kiss, to finding
out that giraffes may not actually be real. However, no matter how life changing one of these
experiences may be, the change doesn't occur overnight. Instead it's a steady process where each
single event builds on each other to make an individual who they are. With these experiences come
moments of extreme highs as well as extreme lows, and while having a good day is the preference
of the many, a bad day is what many of us take for granted. Sukhraj Dhillon explained this concept
best when he wrote, "Good days give you happiness, and bad days give you experience."" This

bad. Next, we drudged through our day as we took a look at how bad trumps good every time.
Before lastly wrapping up our day as we established the overall benefits we gain from a bad day.
Bad days play an influential role in our lives, and while we wish they didn't exist, without them we
wouldn't be where we are today as individuals. Therefore we need to change our perception of bad
days from a negative one to a positive one. We also need to recognize that having a bad day has
more impact than a good day. Once we come to recognize these facts as well as incorporate them in
our lives we'll begin to see bad days as not something that degrades us, but that builds us up. The
shift towards seeing bad days as a beneficial experience will both enlighten us, as well as provide us
with a better mindset when we are faced by unfavorable challenges. As famous pop star artist Miley

Perspective Changes with Age
As a person ages, their perspective on life changes. A person eventually develops the ability to
analyze, understand the importance of lack thereof of things, and not take offense at all the little
things in life. Your perspective also changes through the dropping of preconceived ideas and by
experiencing new situations.
As you age, your ability to analyze a particular situation develops drastically. When you are young,
you think that there is one plain cut, simple, black and white answer, but as you get older you realize
there are many sides to almost everything. Eventually, people realize that there can be a "yes" and a
"no" answer to questions and that more than one person can be right in an argument.
As you get older, you begin to understand the importance or lack thereof of things. When you are an
adolescent, you blow things way out of proportion. Kids act as though not being invited to the most
recent birthday party is the most important thing. When you are older you realize that it is more
important to be financially secure, have a home and be safe. You also realize that you don't need the
latest model of the iPhone, or other technological device as long as the necessary items you have
work. As you become an adult, you begin to understand that we do not need to take offense at all the
small things in life. A person begins to understand that one person's negative comment towards them
is not all that detrimental to them on a large scale. If someone says that your

My Autobiography
As a kid, I was always extremely talkative. So talkative that teachers would get on to me. Teachers
would say so many different things to me, but I never let it bother me. The most common thing they
would say would be like,"Kate, quit talking and go move to a different seat."
Usually, I would respond back with,"Okay" in an annoyed tone, because all I wanted to do was talk.
I would still find a way to talk to someone else, but after a while, I would hear my teacher say my
name again.
"Kate this is your last chance to quit talking or else you're going to the office or I'm going to be
calling your mom," they would say.
"Okay," I would quietly respond back.
Throughout the years as I go little older I started caring about the little things people would say
about me. Like one of the little things that would bother me was when some of my friends or even
some classmate would point out how I have an accent, or how I would do things differently than
them. I became very subconscious about my speaking every single time I would talk because I felt
like everyone would be paying close attention to it. I didn't realize that as a kid that having an accent
would be that noticeable to others. Suddenly my life took a turn when I entered 5th grade. It started
out great. I had a few friends that I could communicate and hang out with, but as weeks gone by I
started to become like a closed door. I rarely said a word to any of my friends. The most I would
have talked was probably a sentence or two

Honesty In The End: It's Not The End
"Honesty is a
very expensive gift. Don't expect it from cheap people." – Warren Buffet ... Show more content on

They are lot of people around but there are only few of them will be honest at you. Why Honesty is
a very expensive gift? Because not all the people around you will be honest at you there are only
few people will give it to, those are the people who love you the way are and can't afford to see you
suffer because of your own mistakes. Why we don't should expect it from cheap people? Because
there are people who tells you that they are your friend but when you need them the most they were

  • 2. The Importance Of Living In A Small Town Living in a small town is an enjoyable, yet bittersweet experience. I grew up in Winnemucca, one of the smallest towns in Northern Nevada. The town is unknown to the majority of people who reside out of its state. I can certainly say that my hometown has been influential on my upbringing. However, my family has played and continues to influence me as a person. Though small, Winnemucca and my family has undoubtedly had a huge impact on my growth and has made me into the person I am today. My family is small, yet incredibly loving and caring. Though my parents have struggled and sacrificed, they have provided many things to my brother and me; they have always supported us. For me specifically, this includes giving me the gift of having a buoyant childhood. My regular day, in my childhood and throughout my teen years consisted of math problems, reading, writing, and art projects, playing games with my brother outside, basketball, hiking, volunteering, and doing activities typical small town offers. I will forever appreciate the environment I grew up in because it taught me to appreciate the little things. I craved one thing though: adventure. I am lucky enough to say I have had adventures with my family before. I have memories of my family and I going on trips to islands, our ancestral home in India, and other foreign nations/lands. Still, after all the journeys, I craved more. But as I grew up more, I concluded that if I am with my family, I will always be happy. They are my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Parents, Teenagers And Educators Often Fail To Realize Parents, teenagers and educators often fail to realize the potential for problems that alcohol presents to the immature psyche and body (Kay Healey, 1997). Teenage alcohol mishandle is one of the significant issues that influence scholarly execution, cause medical issues and is in charge of the demise of teenage drivers and at some point their travelers. Numerous high school students drink since they think it is cool and don 't comprehend the threats of drinking alcohol. Alcohol is the world 's third largest risk factor for disease and contributes to 4% of the global burden of disease (Rehm et al., 2009). • 5. Reflective Essay On Community Service Community service: the 20 hour requirement every incoming freshman dreads. I vividly recall my mom and I sitting at the kitchen table as she asked me if I wanted to volunteer with my church to help those affected by the tornado that hit. Knowing I would be stuck in the mud and rain, I reluctantly agreed, in hopes of getting some of the mandatory hours out of the way.The growth and maturity I received from this experience was far beyond what I expected. Not only did I begin to appreciate the little things in my life that I take for granted but the experience sparked my interest in helping others who have it worse than me. Though one person can not change the world, the impact they can have on a specific person can be still prevalent and worth the effort. I believe I was able to make a small impact on the lives of those I helped through my once–dreaded graduation requirement. As I sat in the backseat, driving through the town hit by the tornado, I looked out my window and took in the tragedy, covered by debris. We stopped at our first house, dare I even call it a house in its condition, a family with two young girls. I listened to the homeowner, as I saw the destruction around me, she spoke of the ignorant storm that placed a lasting halt on her family's life. The family was out of town for a family member's funeral, a time already filled with despair, and on top of that pain, they came home to see nothing but remains of their home left. In utter shock, i rushed to help. Numerous volunteers and I began by putting debris on the side of the road for pickup, and attempting to rebuild the demolished barn. The two houses to follow were just as eye–opening, as i met more families whom were so positive, when their entire lives were turned upside down. As I went through the day and listened to the owners of the houses tell their stories, I felt a whirlwind of emotion. I wondered how tragedy could hit such great families so hard. I began to look around me and at the families I just met, the whole town, for that matter, noticing they had nothing left. I imagined being in their place and could not even comprehend how I would go about handling it. I looked at my life and realized how materialistic I had become. I was ... Insanity is when you're in a state of mind that prevents normal perception, behavior or social interaction. This state is mental illness. Insanity is when you do things in deranged or outrageous ways that could frighten people, or make people feel uncomfortable when around you. It's when you do things out of the ordinary; yet feel as if they are ordinary. Insanity could come about when you're depressed, or after a traumatic event, and sometimes even by keeping all your feelings bottled up inside of yourself. Although she beholds a lovely image, I imagine her as a fearless warrior ready and armed to attack anyone who dared to touch her child. I admired my mother's strength as I watched her work for tireless hours, but, furthermore, I admired her willingness to sacrifice resting time in order to be with my siblings and me. Although my mother did not have a warrior's armor consisting of a sword and shield, listening to her stories about Mexico, her love for my father, and their struggle in America, she became that fearless fighter who protected me and guided me through hardships. Unlike my mother, I was not fearless. I could not watch horror movies because I would not sleep for weeks. I could not stand in a pitch black room because I would search frantically for a ray of light. Many times I would awake terror stricken and call out for my mother, yet due to her night shifts she would not answer. I would spend entire nights looking at the ceiling, hoping for the sun to rise, and for my mother to show. These immense fears, which plagued my childhood, have been the ones to teach me that great courage is needed in life. I would force myself to be brave or to at least act brave. When I lived in Michigan my parents, brother, and I owned a trailer in Canada that we would go to all the time. In 2012, we moved to Ohio, so we had to sell the trailer. • 14. On The Rainy River Rhetorical Analysis Rhetorical Analysis Paper The relationship you have with others often has a direct effect on the basis of your very own personal identity. In the essay "On The Rainy River," the author Tim O'Brien tells about his experiences and how his relationship with a single person had affected his life so dramatically. It is hard for anyone to rely fully on their own personal experiences when there are so many other people out there with different experiences of their own. Sometimes it takes the experiences and knowledge of others to help you learn and build from them to help form your own personal identity. In the essay, O'Brien speaks about his experiences with a man by the name of Elroy Berdahl, the owner of the fishing lodges that O'Brien stays on while on how journey to find himself. The experiences O'Brien has while there helps him to open his mind and realize what his true personal identity was. It gives you a sense than our own personal identities are built on the relationships we have with others. There are many influences out there such as our family and friends. Sometimes even groups of people such as others of our nationality and religion have a space in building our personal identities. In the essay O'Brien is faced with a conflict, a moral dilemma. He had to decide whether he was either going to go to the war and fight or was he going to run away and avoid the draft. The relationship he had with Berdahl was not of friends or even regular acquaintances. Rather they were perfect strangers. That goes to show you that anyone can be a major influence on your life. Berdahl helped to open O'Brien's heart. He realized who he was and where he had come from, his past and what he has been through. How all the events of the past helped him to become the person he was right now. How his past helped form his personal identity. The formation of our own personal identities often begins at birth. As you grow up, your parents are a major influence on you. They teach you many things and help to shape your personal identity. They teach you the basics, from knowing right from wrong with your basic moral values. Your moral values are often built upon the basic morals your parents have and what they have taught you in return. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Some Manner, It Would Be Strenuous To Realize All Of In some manner, it would be strenuous to realize all of the goals, such as removing "distortions to international trade" and promoting "technological innovation" and "the transfer and dissemination of technology" in the Preamble and other provisions. To be specific, "technology transfer" was introduced in article 7 of the TRIPS Agreement. Article 7 stipulates: "protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights should contribute to the promotion of technological innovation and to the transfer and dissemination of technology." A number of supporters of the local working requirement argue if the patentee would be entitled to a territorial legal monopoly, she should to contribute to the development of the industry in that territory as an act of reciprocity. Nonetheless, K. McCabe explains the reason why defining the working requirement would be a burden for transnational companies. If comprehensively every country requires local working as one of the requirements for granting a patent, then exportation to a new foreign market means to establish a manufacturing facility in the country. Defining local working as a "requirement" therefore constitutes an unnecessary burden for a foreign patentee to build manufacturing facilities in all the signatories of TRIPS who have legislation as such. For this reason, the grounds for granting compulsory licenses should be limited to countries with a lower standard of technology ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Descriptive Essay On A Walk In The Park A Walk in the Park A ways away from a town that I call home, I found a happy place. I often find myself walking through the park by myself. The beautiful trees, the way the yellow and red leaves crumple under my feet every step I take. When the flowers bloom and how it's the most spectacular sight you could ever imagine seeing, all the different colors that appear. When you breathe in and you get this smell of purity, you feel free and alive. Sometimes I like to sit on the old wooden bench where the bench frame is a little rusted, and I get rid of my thoughts and my eyes search the sky. In the winter the icy breeze makes me shiver, and the cold air I take in, is like sitting in front of an air conditioner and breathing in. Some mornings the sun beams across the sky, which is not quite blue yet, but the sun has almost fully risen. When the wind blows, it grazes over the blades of grass. Some days I just stand and take a deep breath in and I can taste the spring. When summer comes around, and the bees are buzzing, and the hot sun beats on the back of my neck, I lay on the soft grass and listen, to the birds chirping a beautiful song, and the kids playing in the park. The sky is the bluest view in sight. Walking through the trail full of mud and leaves always made me think about my life. It was always there when I needed to walk and get things off my mind. Looking around watching the leaves fall off tree after tree flying like butterflies, all different colors. When they stopped, they immediately died and they were not coming back alive again. Piled leaves filled up under trees and children ran and jumped on them like they were pillows. These trees tripled the height of humans with numerous branches holding hundreds of leaves. While walking the river flows and it is such a beautiful view with the sun shining right off of it. The ducks and little birds chirping and floating through the smooth water puts a joy to my face. I do believe that we should focus on what we do have, rather than what we do not have, and make the world a better place by helping those who do not have the privileges that we do. From as far back as I can remember, my church was never that diverse. One time when I was about seven or eight years old, we were invited to Trinity's church here in Cookeville. I did not think anything about it until we arrived there. It was the one time I had ever felt like I was the minority. At first I was kind of nervous because I did not know what they would think of me, being a little white girl. Would they think that I was different and not like me? Would they say that we did not belong? After just a brief moment of arriving, I had my answer. They were the most loving people in the whole world. As a young teen with a rough home life, things always seemed to bring me down. Mrs. C realized my struggle and told me to come to her with anything I ever needed. Her teachings made me see my strong points and assisted me in working on my weak ones . She encouraged me daily to fight for what I wanted in life, and to improve on the weakness I had. As history repeated itself I fell time and time again into a lack of self confidence when I would fail at a task. High fives were her go to gift when she knew I need a confidence boost. When my ride home finally showed up I got up, and she told me that if I ever needed to talk she would be there with an open door and open arms. Her mind was always open too, she seemed to know everything about me after that talk, even my weaknesses. As a hopeful student of hers I always asked Mrs. C for help with my music. Of course, she always helped me, but she never gave the answer to my question. It was a frustrating thing to me for a long time, but in the end I came to the conclusion that I needed to figure things out on my own. Mrs. Chappell was always one to help me see the things I was doing well, always. She never once missed a beat when I accomplished something for the first time in her class. Even when I messed up she was to come sprinting across the band hall with joy in every stride telling me awesome that was, when actually I didn't even know she was listening. She gave me confidence in my strengths, and always followed her compliments up with the things I need to fix next go around. Although she may not have known it, every word spoken with her gentle, careful tone was taken straight to heart. Seeing her big smile fill her high cheekbones when she giggled at our well known success was more of a treat to me than any reward or chair placement I ever received. Her joyous laughter was high pitched, genuine, and contagious. A laugh could pass through the entire band from just one, small giggle with a snort she tried so hard to hide. Hiding her ... • 25. Argumentative Essay On The Glass Castle Many people tend to take things for granted. We overlook the things that some people wished they had so they can live without struggle. It usually just comes so easily for us and we don't realize how hard other people's lives are. Jeannette Walls knows firsthand what it's like to be without these modern luxuries. In her memoir, "The Glass Castle" she writes about how she sometimes grew up without things like a place to live, clothes to wear, food on the table, electricity to power the house and keep her warm. In her upbringing, her parents never really supplied her with the things she needs or took very good care of her so she learned how to survive with the little she got. She learns throughout her life that she should never take anything for granted and to appreciate the good things in life because she doesn't get most of the essentials that other people have normally. Throughout the story she always knew to be grateful and value every little thing she got because she didn't get much. As a child, Jeannette doesn't realize that she's not actually getting what she should be getting. She thinks this is how she should be living. Jeannette doesn't understand her parents have been neglecting her all this time. Jeannette first noticed that some things were a lot nicer than what she had when she had to be hospitalized because of her fire accident. She was just so amazed about how neat and organized everything was. For instance, "The hospital was clean and shiny. Everything was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. Music A Luxury Of A Survival Tool Music a Luxury of a Survival tool? Music is a survival tool Have you ever felt so lost before? Have you ever had to plug your headphones in and just lose yourself in a day dream? Can music change your perspective on life? Is music a luxury or do we need it to survive? We need music to survive, our hormonal, depressed teenage years. All teenagers are struggling with trying to figure out who they are, what they are going to do, and many other things. When people put on their favorite song, they somehow find the answer to all those questions. They find the helpfulness in letting things go, and letting new things begin in life. There are three things to prove that music is a survival tool, and they are, change in mood, relaxation, and new perspective on life. First of all, music can change the mood of anyone, or anything. The change in mood that music can do is outrageous. There could be kids having a terrible day, and once they plug their headphones in, their mood has changed from zero to one hundred in two minutes. Music had the power to change the sadness, depression, and happiness in all people. To survive in a world that we live in, we have to have the audacity to let things go. When we make it home, and all we want to do is cry over a bad day, we soon come to realize that the only thing that can make us feel better it listening to some hard rock music, and imagining that you're in a boxing ring with your enemy. There are so many moods, that you can go through in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Guns shots that sound like the ring of bell and the screams of the fallen soldier that sound like all hope is gone. Families are being separated and taken from one another, not knowing if they will ever see them again. They have to move to another country, and try to adapt to the new language, the new food, the new clothes, and the new people. While dealing with all that they have to try to be accepted by these new people who don't understand them and their journey. This is what immigrants have to endure when war has struck their home. Immigrants face many challenges when they are adjusting to their new life style. One challenges immigrants face is war memory or their old life memory. Immigrants can be paranoid and alert. They can hear the little things when its quite because of all the loud noises they heard before. They also have the little things that make them remember the old life they have lived. • 28. My Favorite Experience Of Living In A Small Town Life? Small Town Life I am from a small town named Winner that has roughly 3,500 people in it. We don't have a whole lot, but it is still a nice place to live. Moving to Aberdeen has been a challenge, but I am slowly getting the hang of things. Small towns have multiple perks that people from bigger areas do not get to experience, just like bigger towns have things that small towns do not get to experience. My favorite thing about living in Winner is having a sense of community. Because we live in a small town, everybody knows everyone. Sometimes it can be a pain because everyone knows your business but it does have benefits. If someone has cancer, or a loved one has passed away, or someone has a house fire, people are always there to help you. Whether it's a benefit, locals sending you sympathy cards, or people starting a meal chain for you, you can always count on the people who live in your small town. I have had an amazing group of people who have helped my family in tough times and it means the world to us. Smaller communities seem to have an unbreakable backbone of people who will always be there for you in whatever situation you are going through. Another thing I realized is how great the traffic in Winner is. Obviously, we have our normal lunch rush, but Aberdeen's traffic has been a different experience. It was quite overwhelming when I first moved here because things move at such fast pace. People seem to be in such a hurry and I find it difficult to avoid ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Gender Differences in "Trifles" Essay "Trifles" by Susan Glaspell is a play that is largely based on stereotypes. The most prevalent one is the inferiority of women over men, though the play also explores the differences between genders in general. First of all, Glaspell largely examines the repression of women in the 1900s. Women were highly looked down upon by men, and were seen mostly as housekeepers and child bearers, and were definitely not seen as intelligent people. The women in this play prove that the stereotypes against them are completely wrong. The men in this story are sent out to discover the details of a murder, while the women come along to gather some things for Mrs. Wright, who was accused of killing her husband. Throughout the play, the men mock the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They don't realize that the little things do matter in solving a case like this. By "worrying over trifles" (655), as Mr. Hale puts it, the women end up finding out a lot more about the murder than the men do. The gender differences in the play are obvious and important to the story. The men in this play exhibit some traditional stereotypes of men during the time period, such that they were aggressive and self–centered. The women seem to be more cautious, intuitive and sensitive. These traits allow the women to come a lot closer to figuring out the murder than the men do. At one point in the play the women find a quilt that Mrs. Wright had been working on. Mrs. Hale asks Mrs. Peters, "I wonder if she was goin' to quilt it or just knot it?" (658). Just then the sheriff comes down the stairs and once again ridicules the women for worrying about such little things. "They wonder if she was going to quilt it or just knot it!" (658), he exclaims. This is actually an important piece of evidence in the story, as the ladies find out later. They realize that she was extremely nervous about something while she was sewing, because she usually sews "so nice and even" (658), but the piece she had been working on was "all over the place" (658). • 30. Speech On Perseverance There I was, dead–tired on the final play of my football game. As they snapped the ball from the two–yard line, they ran it to the left. Now, I could have let the situation take over and not make my tired body make the tackle and let them score the winning touchdown, but instead I persevered in the face of a tired and stiff body and made the game saving touchdown. If one always keeps on keeping on, no matter the situation, is perseverance. A person needs to be motivated, have optimism, and realizing and using the advantages of perseverance to one's advantage if they want to have grit and perseverance, which is to never quit even with difficulties. To begin with, to have perseverance, one must always keep going forward, regardless of the situation. There are many factors in keeping this grit, one of them being to always be motivated. A quote that explains this is "... we conquer by continuing." (Smith 2017.) This quote helps prove the idea of motivation by basically saying one cannot fail if they don't stop trying, which is motivation. If one always keeps trying, they can never fail. More evidence to support this comes from "The Iceberg Illusion," where it says that you need failure, sacrifice, and disappointment in order to reach the level of success they want. It takes much motivation to overcome failure, sacrifice, and disappointment in one's life. • 31. The Little Things When you're not paying close attention to all of the good things that can happen to you throughout the day, you don't really notice how many small things there are that can have a positive effect. Small things on their own aren't much, but when you start to add them up they can become something huge. For instance, playing fetch with my Labrador Buddy, or giving in to that craving of chocolate and enjoying every bite are very small things in the grand scheme of things, but take either out of my life and it would be a tragedy. Every once in a while something happens that is clearly a big good thing, but they don't happen often enough to really get you through that daily grind. If suddenly you have a health scare and are hanging on to your life, something like having a good meal would seem pretty huge. If somebody you loved were to die, suddenly those hugs that you used to share with them every day would linger over you and the lack of their presence would be one of the saddest things in your life. The small things are really the big things because they reflect what truly matters to you. I have a very busy life and not everyday do I think about and appreciate having a simple phone conversation with a friend, getting a much–needed hug from my boyfriend, or even just spending time with my niece, but these are the things that would feel crippling if they went away. By doing this experiment I learned that people generally focus too much on the negative things in the world and end up making themselves feel like victims. And they don't pay enough attention to the little things in the world that add up to make for a life that's worth living. People love to recall all of the bad things that happen to them throughout the day, but really things don't happen to people, things just happen. There are probably an equal amount of good things and bad things, so the trick to getting through life and making yourself happy is to control how you respond to the world. In this quote, it tells us that positive and negative go hand in hand. It tells us that whether there is too much of something and less of the other or less of something and too much of the other, both will correlate with each other. As life is a spiral of ups and downs, whether it may be good or bad, happy or sad, opposites will balance each other, for it is the essence of life. B. Whenever good things surround me, bad things always come around. The most memorable one was the time when my brother and I graduated college together (my first course before I ladderized it). Everyone was happy and everything was going well for the family, then a month after the graduation, the tides quickly turned around and my mother's sickness got worse, she got admitted to the ICU in a hospital for a month and a half, everything quickly turned around so fast, financial shortcomings came and everyone was in a state of panic, shock and fear. That is why we often take for granted the beauty of this world: the flowers, the trees, the birds, the clouds – even those we love. Because we see things so often, we see them less and less." – Joseph B. Wirthlin (American businessman) The saying "Don't take anything for granted" has changed my world completely. This drastic change took place on December 3, 2015. This was one of the most atrocious days I have ever experienced. On December 3, 2015, I lost one of the most important figures in my entire life, and I feel like I took her for granted. I had just finished my basketball practice. I was feeling ecstatic because I was making baskets left and right like Kobe Bryant. My coach even told me that he has never seen me play like that before. Then I strutted outside and found my father parked outside the school in his large, brown pick–up truck. I hopped inside and turned my seat heater to high because it was frigid, winter weather outside. My dad made some casual small talk, then he gave me the news. He stated in a low, dull voice, "Hey Jack, grandma past away today." The car ride home seemed like it was ten hours long, even though I lived right around the corner. I am saying this as I have experienced it in the past. One of the worst experiences in my life so far was when I broke my ankle in three different places and dislocated it all at once. The actual breaking of my ankle and the process of recovery was the long and painful part, but however, I did learn valuable life lessons to work with for future reference. It was Christmas time... All you saw we're christmas lights outside and Mariah Carey on the radio singing "All I want for Christmas is You." December 13th, 2013 was a normal day for many people except for me, an unfortunate event occurred as I attended my volleyball practice 30 minutes from home. For about seven months, I faced pain, depression, and challenges that life comes with that I had no choice but to overcome and be strong throughout. Although, breaking your ankle doesn't seem like a big deal while looking at life as a whole, it actually refocused my view to the right way to continue living life. To continue with the story, the night went on. I ended up in the hospital that night with tears running down my face due to the amount of pain I was in. The last thing I wanted to think of was that my ankle was broken, but the only news the emergency room gave me was that I needed to see an Orthopedic ankle specialist immediately due to my injury. I ended up going home not even being able to shower and falling asleep because of medication the doctors gave me at the emergency room. The next day came and I woke up to my mom helping me get up to get in the car to drive 45 minutes from home to attend to an appointment my mom made with an Orthopedic specialist. Luckily, my mom knew the doctor and he told her to have me come immediately. The doctor's office was so cold but maybe I was also just so anxious to find out what was wrong with my ankle. Was my ankle fractured? Or was my ankle broken? I couldn't stop thinking about it. I couldn't stop thinking about the news I was just about to receive because I knew it was more than just a fracture. However, no matter how life changing one of these experiences may be, the change doesn't occur overnight. Instead it's a steady process where each single event builds on each other to make an individual who they are. With these experiences come moments of extreme highs as well as extreme lows, and while having a good day is the preference of the many, a bad day is what many of us take for granted. Sukhraj Dhillon explained this concept best when he wrote, "Good days give you happiness, and bad days give you experience."" Therefore we need to change our perception of bad days from a negative one to a positive one. We also need to recognize that having a bad day has more impact than a good day. A person eventually develops the ability to analyze, understand the importance of lack thereof of things, and not take offense at all the little things in life. Your perspective also changes through the dropping of preconceived ideas and by experiencing new situations. As you age, your ability to analyze a particular situation develops drastically. When you are young, you think that there is one plain cut, simple, black and white answer, but as you get older you realize there are many sides to almost everything. Eventually, people realize that there can be a "yes" and a "no" answer to questions and that more than one person can be right in an argument.
