Workplace Charging
● EVALCertification is the national
employer EV readiness certification
backed by the U.S. Department of Energy.
It helps organizations lead in clean
commuting through workplace EV
charging programs, carpooling, biking,
and transit initiatives that boost employee
satisfaction and reduce environmental
impact.
● Workplace charging = 6X more likely to
purchase an EV

#10 But also.. electrification isn’t just about cars. We also want to expand access for people who don’t or can’t drive, and for families looking for cheaper ways to get around— moving us toward more people-oriented cities and towns. Our e-bike work has been some of the work closest to people, and you’ll remember that photo we saw earlier about the joy these bikes bring.
So far in Oregon we've explored range of programs: bikeshare systems, community lending libraries, and micromobility studies. Again, bringing those learnings to Washington and we’re currently in LISTEN mode — engaging advocacy groups, community partners, academics, and industry to identify opportunities for a community micromobility pilot this year.
#11 Another community that hasn’t traditionally been at the center of this transition is farmers. Through our E-Farms initiative, we’re working with multiple partners such as Sustainable North West, BEF, Wy’east Resource Conservation & Development to EXTEND the benefits of electrification to agriculture.
Today farmers are at where early EV buyers were at perhaps ten years ago - switching to a new technology like electric tractors can be challenging. So, the program moves through three pillars to address market transformation: proving the technology, building awareness, and reducing financial barriers.
We started this work in Oregon in 2020 with Oregon's first electric tractor, and over the years the E-Farms fleet has grown to include other farm equipment like UTVs and mini-excavators. With support from Puget Sound Energy and the CFS, we’ve been able to bring learnings to Washington in a two-year project.
