2. • Mood Board
My mood board contains images I feel represent my idea
for my advert. This is the lower school advert and shows
images relating from year 7’s to year 11’s. The eyes are
instantly drawn to the Ringwood school logo, an
part of the advert to clearly show what school this is
advertising for. Secondly you see students dressed smart
uniform and a new uniform design down the bottom. This
suggest the school is smart and professional. As well as
we have books and images of things like results – as this
will be part of my advert to show studious elements of the
school and the fact you can achieve good results.
Furthermore it shows the social side of school life as well
for example the students in PE kit with sports related
objects (i.e. rugby balls, netball balls)to show the sports
clubs that are run and other things like photos of prom for
older students. I think the idea of extra curricular activities
and the more social side of school appeals to young
as it shows them their time will be fun at Ringwood.
3. Lower School
The lower school advert will start with a bell ringing (like a school bell) and then a sound
effect of people bustling to emulate the school environment.
I will then have a voiceover of children asking each other what they have today: ‘I've got
trampolining in PE!’, ‘I’m making a speaker in technology’, ‘I've got maths, my favourite
subject!’, ‘We’re doing science experiments in biology!’ etc.
Voices fade into the background and background music underscores the rest of the
advert. It is quiet yet light adding interest to the advert.
Older voiceovers (like voxpops) will play next: ‘My son went to Ringwood and got his
target results to go to his dream college’, ‘My daughter loves all the clubs she can do at
Ringwood!’ and ‘My children have all the support to succeed educationally and socially’.
Lastly the voices fade out leaving just the music and a straightforward voiceover at the
end (adult voice) just explaining the open day dates and other essential information about
prospective students and the school.
Focusing on the diverse range of subjects you can study, and the teaching
style/curriculum within them i.e.. Doing practical experiments not just writing.
4. Mood Board 2
For my mood board I've got an image in the top corner of
students getting good results to show that Sixth Form will
bring good results, as well as the UCAS and apprenticeships
logo. This shows that my advert will focus on the support
results you get form Ringwood that can help you with these
things. As well as this I have images of charity, one of many
enrichments you can get from sixth form. The school logo is
prominent to clearly show it is about Ringwood. Additionally
I've included the hand out given to prospective students that
includes the head and deputy head boys and girls – it looks
smart and formal. In contrast there is a photo of fancy dress,
showing the sixth form life isn’t just study – it can be silly, fun
and about other things than results. Lastly I've included the
new café posters, as this a unique selling point and appeals
students. There is also a photo of graduation which I may
include in my advert.
5. Sixth Form
My sixth form advert will start with a few seconds of vox pops of students and what
their thoughts and feelings on Ringwood are, as well as results i.e. ‘I got all A’s’,
‘I've got so much support for uni applications’, ‘ I love the social side of sixth form’,
‘there's other options for me than just university’.
There will be fun yet quiet music in the background to underscore the advert.
There will again be a vox pop from the two head students to appeal to the students
(talk about less formal things i.e. graduation, committees, new café).
Finally to end the advert there will be an adult voiceover to give all thre essential
information of the advert.
Focusing on the next steps offered like support in getting an apprenticeship
or the involvement in UCAS.
