
'A picture speaks a thousand words.'

To start seeing where are the words, we use the
help of different elements.

Just like a story has a title, heading,
introduction and so on, a picture has elements.

They are called 5T - the image, tone, text, text
features and typography.

5T means 5 times the detail. Use it to magnify
your analysis of the visual stimulus!

Element – The Image

Remember that each picture tells a story.

The images consist of:
1)A seal
2)A bench
3)A newspaper
4)A brick wall with graffiti
5)Some withered plants and trees



The tone or colour helps you to understand the
story too.


Element - Text

The text obviously plays a part too.



