Total Nigeria has implemented an ambitious plan to rejuvenate its aging
vehicle fleet by acquiring 210 trucks in 2017. This acquisition represents a
refreshment of approximately 20 percent of its fleet. The company says it
undertook this investment to ensure that its products are transported as
safely and efficiently as possible.
The second phase of the project, which saw the addition of 140 new trucks
early in the second quarter, supplemented the acquisition of 70 new trucks
in the first phase, completed in January. Total Nigeria’s Transporters will
be responsible for managing and maintaining the vehicles. In his
comments, Total Nigeria’s Managing Director Jean Philippe-Torres
provided assurance that the vehicles not only would be properly serviced,
but also that the maintenance and procedures involving their operation
would be regularly audited.
