Nelson Mandela was born in South Africa on the 18th of July
1918.His fathers name was Gadla Henry Mphakanyiswa and
his mothers name was Nonqaphi No Senki.Nelson was only
12 when his father died.Nelson's first job was a security
guard.
3. Early life
Nelson Mandela was born in the village of Mvezo in Umtata
then part of South Africa's cape province.He went to the
collage of Fort Hare and the university of witwatersrand.
4. Fight for peace
Nelson Mandela fought for the black people of South Africa.
He was imprisoned in 1962 for 27 years and was sent for life
for conspiring to overthrow the state. He was sent to prison
in Robben island, Pollsmoor prison and victor Verster prison.
5. LATER LIFE
Nelson Mandela became president of South Africa in 1994
until 1999.He won the Nobel peace prize 1993 with Willem de
Klerk for the work for peace.After South Africa won the Rugby
World Cup.Nelson Mandela handed the South African captain
Francois Pienaar with the trophy after winning.
6. Conclusion
Nelson Mandela lived through his latter years in his native
village of Quno.He died on the 5th of December 2013 at the
age of 95 at his home in johannesburg. I found his work
towards ending racial discrimination inspiring.
