MODERN INVERTER TECHNOLOGY

Heat pump technology
The technology of the heat pump is similar
to that of a refrigerator - only the principle
is reversed. The heat extracted from the air
is brought up to a higher temperature level
in a refrigerant circuit and is then trans-
ferred to the indoor module.
Function of outdoor unit
The outdoor unit extracts heat from the air.
This heat is brought up to a higher tem-
perature level in a refrigerant circuit and
is then transferred to the heating water in
the indoor unit. The condenser speed and
fans speed adapt to the precise cooling or
heating requirement.
Function of indoor unit
The indoor unit transfers the heat con-
tained in the refrigerant to the floor
heating elements or heaters installed in the
building. In order to cool, the function of
the heat pump is simply reversed.

Effective domestic water preparation
An integrated 300-litre domestic water tank with
a large-dimension heat exchanger is build into the
unit in the case of the WKF-compact series.
For the WKF series, external storage systems are
available.
Combination with floor heating, modern
heaters, and wall-mounted heating
systems
Heat pumps are able to achieve their highest
levels of efficiency when combined with floor
heating.
With conventional modern radiators, the operat-
ing costs are lower than for oil or gas heating
appliances.
This means that cosy heating is guaranteed even
at lower outside temperatures.

ties. With connection options for heat pump, solar
system, solid material boiler, and domestic water

Pleasant climate in the summer
In hot weather, the heat pump can be used for
cooling. In order to do so, the function of the
heat pump is simply reversed. You will find air-
conditioning units in the
range of accessories. The
air-conditioning units
work on the convection
principle. The technical
principle of the air-
conditioners is simple:

Combination with heat generators in
bivalent operation
The heat pump can be combined with a heat
generator in order to cover peak loads. This appli-
ance, for example, can be a gas or oil condensing
boiler that can be directly connected to the WKF
indoor unit.

preparation and heating support
An ideal combination for a maximum of economic
efficiency and environmental protection.
Direct solar energy delivers a high percentage of
hot water preparation in annual average.
Optimised use of photovoltaic current
The REMKO Smart-WP can preferably be oper-
ated using self-generated photovoltaic current.
As a result, not as much expensive current has to
be obtained from the mains. This saves money
and the dependency on current price increases
decreases.

The compact class saves space and installation effort
The REMKO Smart-WP is perfectly suited for new buildings in com-
bination with underfloor heating. WKF-compact does not require a
large mounting area due to its compact construction. This construc-
tion saves space in the mounting area. The costs for installation are
reduced by the high percentage of premounted components.

Free choice when installing the outdoor units
You save a lot of space when installing the outdoor
modules externally. You can use the basement space for
other purposes such as a party room or sauna.
Outdoor installation is ideal for buildings without
a basement.

Cosy heat in the winter, a pleasant climate in
the summer
Winters are getting warmer and summers hotter. Tem-
peratures of over +30°C are no longer uncommon in
summer. This means that in addition to heating, cooling
is taking on an ever more important role. One more rea-
son to install a REMKO heat pump. In winter, the heat
pump operates as an efficient heating system, whilst, in
summer, the water-bearing system ensures for comfort-
able air conditioning.

The wall and ceiling chests are characterised by a discreet design
In combination with the REMKO heat pump, the wall and ceiling
chests are excellently suited for the renovation of heating systems,
as well as for new construction. Despite low inlet temperatures, the
units quickly generate heat. In this way, the system can react to
fluctuations in the outdoor temperatures quickly and dynamically.
The REMKO wall or ceiling chests work efficiently and thus require
only low inlet temperatures during heating operations – the ideal
supplement to low-temperature systems, such as heat pumps. They
are excellently suited as an efficient replacement for heaters in old
buildings or for conversions in order to lower high inlet tempera-
tures to an economical value. In summer, the units can also be used
for cooling. In this way, they supply pleasant, draft-free, and cool
air to the room. They can optionally be used for vertical installa-
tion into the wall or horizontal installation below the ceiling and are
excellently suited for installation into private living areas.
An extremely low-noise three-stage tangential fan provides impec-
cable air distribution and maximises vent output. The copper-alu-
minium register is designed for medium temperatures of up to 80°C.
Due to the large heat exchanger, an effective heating operation is
guaranteed at low inlet temperatures.

Regulation
REMKO KWK wall and ceiling chests can be regulated by a room
temperature controller. The controller is functional and easy to oper-
ate. Two mounting variants are available: for installation into the
chest or for surface mounting onto the wall. The regulation of the
room temperature controller can be implemented by switching the
fan on and off.

operate the heat pump in combination with a conventional heating
appliance (bivalently alternating). The additional KWS 300 com-
bination buffer tank is used for the hydraulic decoupling of large
volume flow rates. A cooling function for the summer can also be
activated, if necessary.
In this package, the drinking water preparation takes place in an
enamelled 300-litre drinking water tank. Through the compact
design, installation expenses are extremely low.

for WKF 70-180 appliance series
If the heat pump is intended to serve as a sole heat generator,
this heat pump package is the ideal solution. In addition to the
heating function, a cooling function can be provided when
necessary. In this package, the drinking water preparation takes
place in an enamelled, 300-litre drinking water tank integrated
into the indoor module. In addition, a cooling function can be
provided as necessary while the thermal solar system heats
the domestic water. Through the compact design, installation
expenses are extremely low. The solar set included in this pack-
age, type RSK 25-5, with a collector surface of 5.06 m², is ideal
for effective domestic water preparation.

The energy-savings package is prepared for the integration of
the solar-thermal system REMKO RSK 25-10 to the fin-tube
heat exchanger RWT 31. The domestic water preparation takes
place with a 800 litre or 1000 litre multifunction buffer tank
and fresh water station using the hygienic flow method. With
this heat pump package, both bivalent and single energy source
systems can be accommodated.
The solar set included in this package, type RSK 25-10, with a
collector surface of 10.12 m² provides household water and heating
support. The separate pump assemblies HGM (can be ordered sepa-
rately) for the heating circuits are equipped with a high-efficiency
pump (0-10 V) regulated in a needs-based manner.

EFS series
The fresh water stations of REMKO are used for hygienic domestic water preparation in con-
nection with buffer tanks. The devices are completely equipped with electronic control, speed-
controlled high-efficiency pump, flow switch, and plate heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is
designed for a high flow rate of 25 l/min (EFS25), 35 l/min (EFS35) or 50 l/min (EFS50). The
flow rate can be increased through cascading. The fresh water stations are delivered ready for
mounting in the EPP housing. In the case of the EFS 35/50, the unit is mounted to the wall.
The EFS 25 fresh water station permits mounting directly on the tank or wall.

Heat pumps draw the majority of the energy from the surrounding air. This works even in winter with outside temperatures below zero. The REMKO Smart-WP represents a decision for a state-of-the-art solu- tion. Modern inverter technology makes this possible. This pioneering technology au- tomatically adapts the condenser speed variably to the precise cooling or heating requirement. This exact and gentle regulation enables a particularly energy saving, efficient operation with a high seasonal performance factor in comparison to non-inverter systems. In summary: In the event of increased demand, the heat pump works more inten- sively, in the event of reduced de- mand the heat pump switches over to energy-saving mode. This saves money.   • 6. 6 Heat pump technology The technology of the heat pump is similar to that of a refrigerator - only the principle is reversed. The heat extracted from the air is brought up to a higher temperature level in a refrigerant circuit and is then trans- ferred to the indoor module. Function of outdoor unit The outdoor unit extracts heat from the air. This heat is brought up to a higher tem- perature level in a refrigerant circuit and is then transferred to the heating water in the indoor unit. The condenser speed and fans speed adapt to the precise cooling or heating requirement. Function of indoor unit The indoor unit transfers the heat con- tained in the refrigerant to the floor heating elements or heaters installed in the building. In order to cool, the function of the heat pump is simply reversed.   • 8. 8 Effective domestic water preparation An integrated 300-litre domestic water tank with a large-dimension heat exchanger is build into the unit in the case of the WKF-compact series. For the WKF series, external storage systems are available. Combination with floor heating, modern heaters, and wall-mounted heating systems Heat pumps are able to achieve their highest levels of efficiency when combined with floor heating. With conventional modern radiators, the operat- ing costs are lower than for oil or gas heating appliances. This means that cosy heating is guaranteed even at lower outside temperatures.   • 9. 9 Floor heating Pleasant climate in the summer In hot weather, the heat pump can be used for cooling. In order to do so, the function of the heat pump is simply reversed. You will find air- conditioning units in the range of accessories. The air-conditioning units work on the convection principle. The technical principle of the air- conditioners is simple: Air flows past the interior heat exchanger and is either heated or cooled. This appli- ance, for example, can be a gas or oil condensing boiler that can be directly connected to the WKF indoor unit. Combination with a REMKO RSK solar plant for economic domestic water preparation and heating support An ideal combination for a maximum of economic efficiency and environmental protection. Direct solar energy delivers a high percentage of hot water preparation in annual average. Optimised use of photovoltaic current The REMKO Smart-WP can preferably be oper- ated using self-generated photovoltaic current. As a result, not as much expensive current has to be obtained from the mains. This saves money and the dependency on current price increases decreases.
  • 10. 10 The compact class saves space and installation effort The REMKO Smart-WP is perfectly suited for new buildings in com- bination with underfloor heating. WKF-compact does not require a large mounting area due to its compact construction. This construc- tion saves space in the mounting area. The costs for installation are reduced by the high percentage of premounted components.   • 11. 11 Free choice when installing the outdoor units You save a lot of space when installing the outdoor modules externally. You can use the basement space for other purposes such as a party room or sauna. Outdoor installation is ideal for buildings without a basement. WKF outdoor units Cosy heat in the winter, a pleasant climate in the summer Winters are getting warmer and summers hotter. Tem- peratures of over +30°C are no longer uncommon in summer. This means that in addition to heating, cooling is taking on an ever more important role. One more rea- son to install a REMKO heat pump. In winter, the heat pump operates as an efficient heating system, whilst, in summer, the water-bearing system ensures for comfort- able air conditioning.   • 20. 20 REMKO KWK-4R The wall and ceiling chests are characterised by a discreet design In combination with the REMKO heat pump, the wall and ceiling chests are excellently suited for the renovation of heating systems, as well as for new construction. Despite low inlet temperatures, the units quickly generate heat. In this way, the system can react to fluctuations in the outdoor temperatures quickly and dynamically. The REMKO wall or ceiling chests work efficiently and thus require only low inlet temperatures during heating operations – the ideal supplement to low-temperature systems, such as heat pumps. They are excellently suited as an efficient replacement for heaters in old buildings or for conversions in order to lower high inlet tempera- tures to an economical value. In summer, the units can also be used for cooling. In this way, they supply pleasant, draft-free, and cool air to the room. They can optionally be used for vertical installa- tion into the wall or horizontal installation below the ceiling and are excellently suited for installation into private living areas. An extremely low-noise three-stage tangential fan provides impec- cable air distribution and maximises vent output. The copper-alu- minium register is designed for medium temperatures of up to 80°C.
