All these greenhouse gases can be very toxic and affect the environment. I believe that the United Nations is responsible and can play a great role in reducing waste . The U.N should push countries to limit waste by enforcing rules and laws that may protect the climate and the environment. Companies are also concerned with waste and should use production machines that do not pollute the planet.
2- Managing waste is a challenge in many countries. Many nations produce a lot of trash which is not recycled and thrown as waste in the ocean or land. It is essential for these countries to implement initiatives that would reduce waste and protect the environment. I personally try to recycle all the items that can be recycled because I believe that recycling can reduce waste significantly. I believe that if all people start to recycle and reuse their used products and materials, the world will be a cleaner place with less waste and less environmental problems. I also tell my friends and family members about the benefits of recycling and I encourage them to recycle all items that can be recycled
3- Waste is going to be a continued problem especially in the United States because of how dependent Americans are on convience. To many, recycling is too much of a chore and an addition to their already long to-do lists, so thats why they don't participate. Personally, to take away from it being a chore, I placed a 3 bin seperator next to my trashcan for my roommates and me to use for recycling. There is a bin for paper, one for plastic, and one for aluminum. The cardboard goes next to the bin. By doing this, when you go to the trash can to throw something away, the other options are right there and it isn't a chore to do.
4- Recycling is an important way to keep our ecosystem safe and clean, but there are many that believe that its a waste of time. Many of the products that we use are harmful to the environment, and there are some of us that are ignorant about what's safe and what's harmful. I know that it can be a pain to do recycling, but its important. At my home, we have to seperate containers. We have one for trash, and the other for recycling. We dump all our recycling into our specific bins into the garage, and set them outside for the collectors to come. At college however, I threw all my garbage and recycling into one trash can, and when it was time to empty it out, I would sometimes forget to do that. In my last two years though, I was more involved in it after they had put in the recycle bins on each floor. That helped me out plenty, and I knew I was doing the right thing.

3- Waste is going to be a continued problem especially in the
United States because of how dependent Americans are on
convience. To many, recycling is too much of a chore and an
addition to their already long to-do lists, so thats why they don't
participate. Personally, to take away from it being a chore, I

something away, the other options are right there and it isn't a

2. 4- Recycling is an important way to keep our ecosystem safe
and clean, but there are many that believe that its a waste of
time. Many of the products that we use are harmful to the
environment, and there are some of us that are ignorant about
what's safe and what's harmful. I know that it can be a pain to

more involved in it after they had put in the recycle bins on

the right thing.
5- Waste is a problem that I think is always going to exist in
some sense. I think the best thing we can do is simply cut down
on our waste. If we recycled more, we would have a lot less
waste in landfills. People are just not educated well enough.
Obviously if there is a bin for recycling, and a bin for trash, one
would think the ethical thing that everyone would do is use the
recycling container when throwing away an item that can be
recycled, but many don't.
People are simply uneducated, and think it is much easier just to
put everything in the trash bin. More labeling needs to be used,
and people should be educated. Free recycling should be made
available. I personally always make sure my trash always goes
into the right bin. Waste is a problem that needs to be mainly
solved by the individual, although government/UN intervention
would be helpful, it still all comes back to the grassroots level.
5- I think that waste needs to be disposed of in the safest way
for humans and the environment. I do not think that finding a
place to dump it that far enough away to be safe for humans but
3. bad for the environment is acceptable. We are now seeing the
negative effects of past generations doing this, such as the trash
vortex. I also think that we have to be careful about burning
our trash because it is also bad for the environment. With so
many humans inhabiting the earth, properly disposing trash and
waste will always be an issue that needs addressed. The only
thing that I do in attempt to help with waste is recycle. I also
pick up trash outside if I see it. I know there is more that I
could probably do in order to help with this issue, but I have yet
to discover it.
Waste is increasing significantly with the rapid increase of
population in the world. This huge raise of waste size calls for
taking serious actions towards solving this issue.
7- According to recent research, we recycle about 25% of our
recyclable waste which means huge amount of recyclable waste
is throwing to our lands and waters. We can help in reducing
this waste through several was such as, recycling as much as we
can and we should educate children about this problem to end
up with an aware generation that can protect our environment.

1- The article discusses how a family was able to reduce the bill
of electricity by seeking energy independence. The main
advantage of energy independence is that the family saved a lot
of money. Energy independence can help people reduce their
use of energy and therefore save money. In addition, Energy
independence can help protect the environment and save energy
in general. However, I don` think that energy independence is
appropriate for each one us. It is not easy to be energy
independent because it may requires a lot of equipments and
money. Energy independence may not be very reliable because
it is sometimes hard to live without electricity and nothing can
replace it at all.
4. 2- I find this article very interesting because it discusses the
importance of energy independence. I think that being energy
independent is very good and can save energy. It is not easy for
all people to be energy independent because they must to
change their living habits. People should reduce their use of
electricity and save it as much as possible so that energy can be
saved and can be used for other purposes. Energy independence
is a great idea, but it is hard to implement in all households. It
is hard for all households to have energy independence because
it might be difficult and expensive to do so.
3- The current fluctuation of fossil fuel prices has pushed a
number of consumers to energy independence. Consumers’ are
fast installing solar energy has their main source of power and
no longer as an alternative power source. Energy independence
guarantees consumers constant power supply without
unnecessary interference and influence. I fully support
consumer energy independence in the 21st century to live a full
life. Solar energy relies on sunshine which appears only half a
day and hence a client will have to pay an extra coin to
purchase backup batteries for use when the sun is down. The
same batteries are harmful to the environment if wrongly
disposed after use. Solar Panels are expensive to install and
service but are worth their value, because the user will have
total energy freedom. The fact that clients are able to control
their power energy its important if will all can embrace energy
independence within our local communities.
4- Personal energy independence definitely looks appealing
with getting paid for producing electricity every month instead
of using and paying for it. If everything goes well then
eventually you would have the system paid for and would make
a slight profit every month. It is also nice to know that you are
self-sufficient and do not have to rely on someone else for a
huge necessity such as electricity. The downsides are the price
and if you have problems with it at some point or need to get rid
5. of it. The price is something that would turn many people away.
Not everyone can afford a 18-20 thousand dollar system even
with some help from the government. Another problem is if you
have major problems with the system like if it were damaged or
destroyed. If a major problem were to happen then you would be
out an expensive system. The article also does not mention if
you can draw power from the grid or just give power to it. If
you were located somewhere where it snows in the winter and
your system went out or could not be used, you may not be able
to have power for quite a while.
5- From reading the article “The Electric Company Pays Us”.
The great thing to start is they became aware of their energy use
and cut back gradually, also they know how much electricity
appliances used so when you know all these things, it became
easy for you to do it right. Advantages: freedom from taxation
and regulation. Get rid of the high electric bill every month.
Any extra energy we produce goes back into the local power
grid. The power company pays back for the energy that sends
back to the system. Getting a check for every month for the
power that send back. The system pays for itself in long time
process. The ability to drastically reduce power consumption is
another disadvantage of personal energy independence. Due to
the reduced dependence on external sources of power, an
individual will be able to address the challenges of power
fluctuation by installing their personal power sources. The main
disadvantage of this undertaking is the expenses incurred during
installation. Initial installation is too costly.
6-
Of concern for the environment can be defined as a social
movement seeking to influence the political process through
pressure, activity, and education, in order to protect natural
resources and ecosystems, and the environmental movement
focused on the environment, health, and human rights. And their
organizers of the Environmental Protection usually peaceful
