1. Recycling
For our group the most important thing with sustainable development is the environmental question
and we decided to take the question with recycling, because it's an important question and all can do
it very easily. We on our planet have big problems with the pollution. Everyone need to start think
of the environment and then this is easily done.
Recycling is processing waste into new products to prevent waste potentially useful material. Paper
for example converted to paperboard that can be used again, and plastic recycling is a big weight
because the materials can be used in a big extent how often contents envelopment substance. One
problem is with the plastic recycling it's the abundance in a difference places which are inevitable
mixed with risks and the place quality.
A pronoun we've heard lots of times is “One can't do all, but all can do something”. Then we think
all should start recycling. It's very easy to do, all can do it and doesn't demand much energy. It will
still help the environment in a good way. We also think that if all starts recycling and it becomes a
trend, then the business organizations will see that everyone cares about the environment and they
will start selling more ecological products.
To make people recycle more we could for example increase the amount of money we receive when
we recycle for example cans and bottles, and also make it possible to get money when we recycle
other things for example light bulbs and batteries. We could also make the garbage collection come
less often, make it more expensive or adopt an extra fee for households who needs the garbage
collection more frequently or have waste that weights over a specific amount. This would hopefully
result in more waste sorting. Unfortunately many countries don´t have any good recycling centres,
and all the garbage ends up in huge garbage dumps. To make people recycle more the most
important thing is probably to provide good recycling centres where it is easy and free to leave the
waste. It is also important to inform the people about the importance of recycling.
Almost all things is recyclable, from clothes to plastics. You can for example make use of your
clothes and give them for those who need clothes. Then your can give them to organisations, for
example the Swedish organisation Myrorna.
If people started to recycle more it would result in big improvements for the environment. The
usage of raw material would decrease, and there would also be less energy needed, and this would
result in less pollutant. From a social point of view it would mean that less people will be forced to
work under dangerous conditions for example in mines. The downside of this is that these people
may become unemployed if they no longer can work with the production of raw material. This
would also result in economical consequences. For most countries it would result in a better
economy because they don´t have to import as much raw material as before and don´t have to use as
much energy. However, for the raw material producing countries the economy may worsen when
the demand for raw material decreases. Even though more recycling would affect many areas the
biggest consequences would be for the environment and because the profits would be so big we
think recycling is a very important part of a sustainable environment.
A good thing you can do instead of throw the things that you won't use any more, but other people
can have use of. Instead you can use services like blocket, where you can sell your “garbage” and
other people can have use of it. This will both help you, the on you sold to and the environment.
The stuff you throw in the garbage can also be dangerous for the environment, especially if it will
be burnt in a garbage station. Instead of doing that it's very important to leave the stuff to a
recycling centre so there won't be any unnecessary pollutions.
