Χρησιµοποιούµε τον Present Perfect Continuous για
να µιλήσουµε για µια πράξη που άρχισε στο
παρελθόν και συνεχίζεται και τώρα
ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ — ΑΚΟΜΑ ΣΥΜΒΑΙΝΕΙ .

Examples:
■ They have been talking for the last hour. (ακόµα µιλάνε….)
■ She has been working at that company for three years.(δεν έχει φύγει
από την εταιρεία…)
■ What have you been doing for the last 30 minutes? (…σε βλέπω και τώρα
να το κάνεις.…)
■ James has been teaching at the university since June ( δεν έχει
σταµατήσει….)
■ We have been waiting here for over two hours! (… κι ακόµα
περιµένουµεεεεεε…..)

Επίσης, ο Present Perfect Continuous µε τις
λέξεις "lately" or "recently" εκφράζει κάτι
που γίνεται τον τελευταίο καιρό και συµβαίνει
ακόµα.

■ Mary has been feeling a little depressed.

7. Όταν έχω στοιχεία για αυτό που λέω…..
à"Have you been feeling alright?" (….υπονοεί ότι σε
βλέπει κάπως χάλια….…)
à"Have you been smoking?" (…κάτι µυρίζει ύποπτα
στην ατµόσφαιρα…)
à “Has it been raining?” (….βλέπεις το βρεγµένο
γρασίδι…)
Χρησιµοποιώντας, λοιπόν, σε ερώτηση αυτόν τον
χρόνο φαίνεται ότι βγάζω ένα συµπέρασµα γιατί
ακούω, βλέπω, νιώθω, οσφρίζοµαι - δηλαδή έχω
στοιχεία για κάτι .

★ στον Pr. Perfect δεν συνεχίζεται - στον Pr. Per.
Continuous συνεχίζεται
★ στον Pr. Perfect τονίζω το ότι έγινε η πράξη -
στον Pr. Per. Continuous τονίζω κυρίως τη
διάρκεια
★ ΔΕΝ µπαίνουν όλα τα ρήµατα σε Continuous
χρόνους, εποµένως χρησιµοποιουµε τον απλό
Present Perfect υποχρεωτικά.

(το σπίτι είναι ακόµα δικό µου, αλλά το ρήµα
possess δεν παιρνει -ing)

(εξακολουθώ να τον γνωρίζω, αλλά το ρήµα know
δεν παίρνει -ing - βέβαια, µπορεί να ειπωθεί
κάλλιστα σε µια κηδεία… )
