WHY TEACHERS TO BE PASSIONATE TO PROFESSION?
1. WHY TEACHERS TO BE
PASSIONATE TO PROFESSION?
Today many of us have become Teachers by accident rather than with
passion, with the growing opportunities many opt to be teachers few with
passion, many without passion and any ideals, or some it as cool we have few
responsibilities, and more power. I owe much of my career and progress to
my teachers when I was too young, and when I was a Medical student in
1960’s and 1970’s the Teachers were the people with towering knowledge
and dedication and whenever I meet my old classmates we still remember our
Medical College faculty, what are all good things they taught us and how they
inspired us. I still believe the world has not much changed students remain
the students and teachers remain to be Teachers, I wish to confess the
students are my strength if we work with passion and dedication, in my 4
decades of teaching association, if we are principled and sincere we can
change the attitude of even the adamant students who are branded by bad
teachers as bad students, The real of Teacher continues, to try, as the
students can be reformed and made to benefit of the society. I find the most
important word to sustain in Teaching remain the PASSION. Never forget
PASSION IS THE KEY If there's one word that was repeated over and over by
many Principals and learned teachers, it was the word passion. Passion for
knowledge. Passion for teaching. Passion for kids or even the grownups like
our medical Students. The Great Teachers like Swami Vivekananda who
wishes “I look for an individual with a passion to receive and impart
knowledge, someone who can relay the information they receive to students
with diverse abilities and poor and helpless, Today it means the word diverse
abilities, something to me with privatization of education we have to deal with
people from many streams as a Teacher I think to live and survive with my
passion to teach remain my ideal goal to stay to be a teacher, rest are all
somebodies choice if they accept they become good humans and competent
Doctors rest is not my problem. "This one quality also includes heart," Hooker
quotes. "There is a scriptural passage that states 'As a man thinketh in his
heart so is he' and also 'Where one's heart lies so shall their treasures be.' I
look for one whose heart is open and receptive to teaching children or
Students -- a person who knows beyond the shadow of a doubt that teaching
is the greatest of all professions." Whenever I have lecture to take, I always
think how much I am learned in the same topic before I give a talk or lecture,
hope you understand I meant by talk, which means we are trying to impress
the people with ignorance. We have a saying that 'learning from a teacher
who has stopped learning is like drinking from a stagnant pond,'" adds
Beckett. "I want staff that do not avoid change but see it as a challenge. I want
staff who see technology as a tool that needs to be mastered." With years or
decades in teaching we have to learn wisdom why we are teachers, which
means have to move from passion to compassion. I repeat the word
2. PASSION ... AND COM-PASSION TOO "What I've discovered to be the
single most important characteristic in a teacher would be their compassion
for students, as that is the essence of the profession," If we wish to be
remembered develop a interpersonal relation with relation still give a broad
smile never mind smiling face is most beautiful face in the world. Try
developing STRONG INTERPERSONAL SKILLS ... AND A SENSE OF
HUMOR “Stephen Covey (Seven Habits of Highly Effective People) says that
any job is twenty percent knowledge and eighty percent interpersonal skills,” "I
am interested in discerning what interpersonal skills a candidate possesses
that will 'connect' with the student. This connection -- this caring attitude --
motivates learners to learn." And a good sense of humor can't hurt!
“Experience in the related field and humor are essential,” "I really feel that an
educator needs to have a keen sense of humor in order to keep students and
colleagues learning and motivated. Someone who can't take a joke or give
one, someone who can't lighten up, someone who is too serious will not
survive." Good teachers should be constantly on the lookout for ideas about
how to do a better job in the classroom. Never forget every day is different in
Teachers and Students life like best idea quoted from UNESCO Everybody
will have their own opinion on this because it is impossible to please
everybody at the same time. It is very difficult to say what a good teacher is
when I am still a student and have seen my share of what a teacher should
do. I think that the qualities that a teacher should maintain are the abilities to
relate to their students on their own level, make learning fun and easy to
understand, be nice so students will listen, make the kids look forward to
entering the classroom, and above all.... maintain control. (Katie, Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma, U.S.A.) If you wish to be passionate to your Job I think a
good teacher should always show his students the values behind the topic
he/she is teaching in an exciting and friendly way. My experience with
handling of higher education or medical education we teachers are just friends
to your students to create a better world than what we have rejoiced.
NEVER FORGET THERE ARE BAD TEACHERS AND
BAD STUDENTS JUST PROPORTION VARIES TO THE
CIRCUMSTANCES.
THINK ABOUT YOUR ROLE TO MAKE DIFFERENCE?
JUST BE PASSIONATE.
